The MOST unprofessional experience of my life! My girlfriend and I were strolling Gulfport shopping noticing some stores open and some stores closed. As this was a mandatory mask situation, I had one around my neck and my girlfriend had hers in her purse. We walked up to the entrance to check if it was open, we pulled the door open (intending to don our masks ASAP) the worker runs to the door PULLS IT BACK AWAY FROM MY GIRLFRIEND's HANDS and aggressively points to her face mask yelling through the door, "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED IN!" Appalled my girlfriend asks, "are you serious?" We immediately start to walk away from this insane situation and the woman proceeds to walk out of the store responding, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" "HOW DARE YOU TRY TO ENTER WITHOUT A MASK??" Readers, I'm not exaggerating at all. This actually happened! I can't stress enough when I say, STAY AWAY from this craziness. To the looney tune worker, up your meds and take a 30 second course on how to handle that situation differently. read more

I vacation in Gulfport every year, I love everything about Gulfport except this store! The first time I visited the store I was beyond excited because they sell Johnny was, one of my absolute favorite brands. I was not greeted in any way when I walked into the boutique- that's ok, I could tell that were with a regular customer. When the customer left, I asked if they had a blouse in a different size, I got a flat out No and the employee just went to carry on with something else. Since I figured it was a one off, I continued to visit this store on every trip and without a doubt I have been treated like the scene in pretty woman when Vivian wants to but clothes on Rodeo drive . I let it go for years! Well, today was no different, there was no friendly hello, the staff was just chit chatting, I brought a top to the register, waited forever, I put the top back and walked out! The staff clearly saw me as they were right by the door the entire time that I was it the store. I love this place, they are a bit on the pricey side for me. But I love their collection of jewelry, skin care items and random vintage items. I have bought several Alex and Ani bracelets here and would highly recommend. read more

While in Gulfport March, 2013 I bought an artisan-made necklace at Bo-Tiki. I wore it that night and, because of an anomaly in how it was made, the pendant fell off somewhere over the course of the evening. I got home to find only the neck wire around my neck. After I returned home, I mulled over my disappointment and phoned the store to see if they'd replace the item. They offered half off a replacement and I would have to pay the shipping. Not mollified, I contacted the designer, theartistjay.com. Lo and behold, he sent me a replacement pendant. Bravo Jay! He had nothing to gain from helping me. Meanwhile the owner of Bo-Tiki failed her opportunity to practice outstanding customer service. I'd have made it a point to shop in her store on my next visit. Instead I am sharing my disappointment with all who'll listen. read more

My mom and I have given this place 3 chances. We've gone in here and spent money. We might not be the most fashionable individuals but when you call my mother 'sir' numerous times even when corrected I am not happy. She's a cancer patient and she might not look like the clientele you want. So after feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable in your store we will be taking our business elsewhere. I agree with earlier reviews of this shop. Their selection is very good (although I would put some of their merchandise in the "mee-maw" category), however one is treated so rudely, it seems fair to boycott this establishment on principle. I bought a bracelet and almost walked out when I asked for help to find the right one. The woman working in the shop was very condescending and didn't seem to care if I bought the bracelet or not. Probably won't be going back which is a shame because I've bought several gifts and items for myself. read more

Friends invited me to the west coast for the weekend. One of the many activities was going to Gulfport. I love shopping areas like this-artsy, colorful, and unique. We visited several stores and Bo-Tiki was a favorite. I will admit-the first time we passed it buy. We thought it was only women's clothing. Then we were next store and saw some interesting things in the window and went in. We were greeted immediately and offered refreshments. If I had chosen to, I could have taken some refreshment and sit outside on the porch in colorful chairs and hang out for a bit. I just wanted to look at everything! This store is filled with all kinds of unique items: beautiful embellished and painted purses, many styles of jewelry, unique colorful yard and home décor. The clothing is varied in a beautiful range of colors and styles. Whether you like whimsy or classic-this store will not disappoint. My favorite was the aluminum jewelry-probably because I make it as well-it is beautiful to wear but very light. This artist's work was the best I have seen. I am glad I got to go there twice in the two days. I am anxious to come back again and see what new surprises they will have! I had a situation which got me upset on Saturday at BoTiki and instead of going straight to the owner, I vented on social media. I should not have done that, however, Maddy (the owner) and Grace (the employee) extended very sincere apologies and they went above and beyond to make it right. Maddy did not have to do what she did for me, but I sincerely appreciate it and I appreciate the opportunity to speak with both her and Grace about it. Very seldom do you get this type of positive turn of events from a store, but it lets me know they genuinely care. I will be a forever fan of BoTiki and look forward to shopping here. This little shop has beautiful clothing and jewelry and is really one of the gems in Gulfport. read more

I actually walked out because I got an salty vibe from the woman who was working there. I'm not sure if she is the owner or an employee. She seemed much more happy and obliged to greet the customer, a man, that walked in after me. Downtown Gulfport, Florida is like the beach version of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is artistic and beautiful. And this place has a few neat things. Staff is very nice. They have these neat little pieces of magnetic jewelry. Also neat little pads that hang on outdoor chairs for your head. The merchandise is a bit over priced. The shop is owned by the same people that own O'Maddy's bar and grill. Bo-Tiki holds itself out as a women's store. They could go unisex and lower their prices and then they met deserve a 4 star. But for now just a 3 star. But downtown Gulfport is a cute little paradise tucked away in Southwest St. Pete / Pinellas. You should totally check out the town. But when you do, it won't be the end of the world if you miss Bo-Tiki. read more
