We took our one year old for an eye exam here. The doctor was really good with little ones and did a thorough exam.

I have purchased my glasses from Bothell Vision Center for several years. At one point, my dog pulled me over. I got a concussion and had two black eyes and needed to be checked out for macular degeneration. . They did so immediately without hesitation. I purchased a pair of glasses from Costco thinking I could cut cost and get quality. Unfortunately that was not the case. The Cosco lenses always seem slightly gray even without sunlight and my vision is not as sharp. Bothell Vision lenses are admittedly, more expensive. However the Bothell Vision frames were under warranty so my new frames were covered. I find my vision, much sharper and clearer, with better depth of vision, with the glasses from Bothell Vision Center. read more

Don't go to this place!!! They don't give you options on what your being charged for!! You will pay close to 1K with insurance...

**BEWARE** The frontline staff are short, curt, and uncaring. They come off pretentious and talk down to their customers. I went in for an eye appointment and didn't have eye insurance. I plan to pay the regular rates. As soon as the staff found out I did not have eye insurance they treated me differently as if I was non-existent. Oddly, many doctors offices prefer to not have to deal with insurance companies but not this one. Perhaps they charge such outrageous rates they knew I would question their rates? Who knows! Received excellent service as a first time patient. Exam was very thorough, professional, and staff great. Ordered new Silhouette glasses which I have worn for years. Optician and staff said earpieces were too short. Glasses now fit much better and are much more comfortable. Pricing was very good as well. I used to come here as a kid to get my eye exam, glasses, and contacts. Actually, I got my first set of contacts here and learned how to put in and take out my contacts here at age 14. I moved away for college and recently moved back to the area. My glasses from 2009 needed replacing and I thought I could simply get the lenses updated while keeping the frame. The receptionist, Iwen (sp?), was surprised at how great my vision insurance was and encouraged me to get new frames. I tried on a few frames and ended up with a cute pair of Kate Spade metal frames. She took my measurements and answered all my questions regarding lens options. After insurance, my out-of-pocket total was about $240. I thought that was a bit steep for having "great vision insurance," but the anti-reflective feature recommended by my eye doctor was only partially covered. My glasses took 6 business days to arrive. I was really impressed with that. I went in the day after I received the email that my glasses were ready. Another employee (not Iwen) helped me that day. I tried them on and even got to choose my glasses case, as there were several cute colors by Kate Spade. When I got home, I was looking at my glasses a bit more carefully and noticed they were navy, not black as I ordered. I called and notified them of this. The employee who helped me got Iwen on the phone, and she was extremely apologetic and assured me they could order the correct color and I can simply come in with my current glasses and swap them out. I agreed. Again, it took about 7 business days for my replacement frames to arrive. Super fast! I went in a few days after I received the email that my glasses were ready, and Iwen was there to help me that day. However, the supplier sent the wrong size, even though the packaging stated the frame was the correct size. The lenses on my navy frames did not fit on the black frames. Again, Iwen was extremely apologetic. I noticed that the black frames had a white interior plastic finish whereas the navy frames have a gorgeous gold interior metal finish. So I decided to keep my navy frames and avoid yet another trip. I got to switch my glasses case to another color. The first case seemed used whereas the second case I chose was brand new in plastic packaging, so I was happy about that. Their hours are not great for working professionals either. They close early on Fridays at 3:00 pm and they are closed on weekends. Overall: This places is a bit on the expensive side, even if you have excellent vision insurance coverage. Also, if you have flexible hours during the weekdays between 9:00 or 9:30 am and 5:00 pm, then this could be the place for you. Otherwise, I'd go to elsewhere. read more

I have had the best experience getting both a thorough eye exam and not one, but two pair of glasses. The second pair was about 1/3 less expensive because I got them within a month of the first pair a special they have that I didn't even know about so that was an awesome surprise. Moreover, due to the "Kate Moss" frames I got with the first pair being a little different color blue than the ones I picked out from the display wall once my second pair of glasses came in they let me trade for a different frame closer to the color blue I desired at NO COST to me. They also did a more detailed eye exam that used machines I have never had used and the doctor is amazing and takes her time with the patients. So many designer frames of all the latest styles it's really hard to pick out your frames. It's so nice finding a locally owned business and having such a great experience. I have been told I need to wear glasses for about ten years but the glasses I got at Costco gave me horrible headaches and I am not experiencing that with these glasses from Bothell Vision Center and it's been a couple months. Now I wear my glasses all the time. Not only can I see so much better but they are also super cute so I love wearing them. So if You want the latest styles, a large inventory , exceptional service, and perfect fit and best prescription you got to try this business out. read more

Moved so I needed a new Vision Doctor. Bothell Vision Center is right in my neighborhood. I've had 2 visits so far. Dr Lim is very professional and nice. She explained my vision health to me in professional terms but in language I easily understood, the same for the tests that were done. The office staff was great! Dr. Lim at Bothell Vision Center is simply the best. I usually get very anxious about anything eye exam related, but Dr. Lim has always been kind, considerate, and totally professional. I have been going to her for several years now, and I trust her completely with my eye health. Her exams are quick but totally comprehensive and I feel like my eyesight is in great hands. As an added bonus, her front desk staff is very courteous and friendly. I always recommend Dr. Lim to friends and family members - in fact, my husband also goes to her and is similarly enthusiastic about his experience. I wish I could give Dr. Lim six stars. The optometrist seemed very knowledgeable and was able to tell me a lot about my eyes current condition and overall health. I was hugely turned off on their eagerness to sell me something I didn't need, glasses. I have perfect vision but was considering getting glasses that would protect my eyes from blue light while at work. I have a really nice pair of Prada glasses at home that could easily have the lenses switched out. Even though I explained this they continuously encouraged and pushed me to spend the extra money and get frames, it would only be an extra $50 for one of their designers! No thank you, I go to the eye doctor to take care of my eyes and not to get pushed into purchasing something I don't need. I will not be returning next year. read more

What a rip-off!!! Avoid this place. The plastic of one of the nose pads fell off. The front desk lady replaced it and charged me $20. That is a lot for tiny repair job. I felt being rip-off. I don't recommend this place to anybody in town. (Btw, a lot of other places don't charge for a nose pad.) I called Bothell Vision Center back and wanted to talk to the owner. Make SURE you ask, more than once, the actual cost of the exam. They did not tell me about the contact lens exam that is an additional $100 to $175 on top of the exam expense when I phoned for an appointment. I was told the copay with the insurance was $25. When I showed up for the appointment, I asked if that was the total cost to me, and was told that it was. I asked about the paper I just signed that stated that I would be charged an additional cost for a contact lens exam, and he said that there would be an additional charge over the $25 copay. It would behoove this group of folks to look up the definition of the word "total." I left without getting the exam. I HATE being lied to. read more

DELIGHTED! When I turned 50 and started needing readers, I really had a hard time wearing contact lenses effectively. I struggled to read with contacts in, and even to see the computer screen without zooming it larger or using readers. As a very active person I really prefer contacts over glasses, and kept trying to find a pair of multi-focal lenses that would work for me. The provider I was previously seeing did not take much time or try many options so I thought what I had was as good as it gets, until I went to Bothell Vision Center. Dr. Lee spent more time with me than any provider has before, and she tested my vision in the exam room as well as outside in bright light! She was also able to examine my retina without dilating the eyes, which was so helpful. I've been wearing corrective lens since I was in the 3rd grade and never had such a thorough exam, nor offered so many lenses to try until I found what works best for me. My vision cannot be corrected to 20-20 with contacts, but it is so much better that I can read a book comfortably without using readers. I'm so grateful to Dr. Lee and her staff. Bravo! read more

I had my annual eye exam with Dr. Lee in mid-June 2009. Dr. Lee is very professional and patience. I had a few concerns and she was able to answer my questions professionally. I tried two sample of contact lenses for a week and ordered one pair of eye glass at the clinic. The follow up appointment was thorough and informative. Great service!! I was hoping to get contacts for my aging eyes, mostly so I can read texts and see the console on my bike. Currently wear progressive glasses and have for more than five years. Dr Brown had me try three pairs of contacts before she explained that with the multi focal lenses you can never really see both up close and far away and in between. You need to sacrifice one and have it be blurry so you can see the other. That doesn't work for me. So no contacts. Just paid for the exam and fitting fee to no avail. Maybe they should explain up front that you might as well not even try it won't work or are there other options? read more

I was feeling pressure in my left eye, the vision had become extremely foggy. I have free eye care through VA but couldn't wait. Dr. Lim at Bothell Vision Center took me in on short notice sensing an emergency. She reduced the pressure in the eye over several hours with a series of different drops and saved my optic nerve as it would have been destroyed had I waited any longer. Dr. Wendy Lim is an angel, extremely thorough and knowledgable. She has state of the art equipment and is very personable and warm. She will continue to be my eye doctor. I have been going to Bothell Vision Center for years and recently updated my prescription and ordered new frames. On a whim, I decided to try contacts again as well...after a more than 10 year gap. My vision had changed a lot in those 10 years and I now required lenses that were both bifocal and for dry eye. Dr. Lim is the absolute best to work with. She worked with me over more than a month as we tried various lens' for strength, comfort etc. We finally got the adjustment just right that allows me the distance correction I need, the reading correction I need and the comfort I need for a desk job with long hours at the computer. Her focus was in getting me the best result and not on quick profits from the fewest possible appointments. She's the best. read more

I am very disappointed on how they choose to do business. I went for a check up for the first (and last) time, and the doctor said that my prescription had changed dramatically in a year and my eyesight was deteriorating and gave me a new prescription. I had my glasses made somewhere else. Fortunately, I just had a single pair made, because when I tried them on and saw no difference from my old glasses, the attendant said the prescription was the same, just a minimal change. I hate that the doctor even told me I needed 3 pairs! For computer use, driving and daily use and that my old glasses were useless and would harm my eyes because the prescription was off. I would never use them again because they flat out lied to get me to buy expensive glasses at their shop. That is not ethical. read more

I went for a contacts fitting exam. They don't carry Accuvue which is a major brand and didn't give me a chance to choose from that. They try to force you into wearing the brands they carry. read more

I recently saw Dr. Lee at Bothell Vision Center and am very happy with the quality of service. I have a very high prescription and my previous optometrists had a difficult time fitting my contacts due to the size and shape of my eyes. I used to blink my gas permeable contacts right out. However, Dr. Lee was able to get the fit right the first time and I have not lost a contact since my visit. Thank you!!! read more

I am near-sighted, and I was just starting to have presbyopia--the problem in middle age where you can't hold the paper out far enough to read it. I went to see Dr. Lee. One problem was that she talked a blue streak and I couldn't manage to even ask one question. But what really turned me off was that I felt she didn't do what was best for my vision. She pressured me to get bifocals, which were several hundred dollars, even though I only wear glasses for breakfast, and then switch to contacts. So she prescribed reading glasses to wear with my contacts, and that took all of my insurance money for hardware for two years, plus more than a hundred dollars out-of-pocket. I could never see well with the reading glasses, so I went to another optometrist who prescribed bifocal contacts, which are perfect. Why didn't Dr. Lee suggest bifocal contacts? I think she was intent on selling me something expensive, but contacts aren't. With bifocal contacts, I don't need the reading glasses, but the reader frames are too small for regular lenses. The frames for my regular glasses broke, but I have to wait another year for insurance or pay out-of-pocket since I blew my insurance on the reading glasses. On the upside, my new optometrist is great, and I love my bifocal contacts. read more
