Lest you think it's only due to personal relationship, Paul is also an instructor at Brown. Who better to perform eye surgery? That said, the overall experience was very positive, from scheduling to the exam process, then surgery, then billing question follow up. The actual surgery is done in batches, almost assembly-line styler. That may sound negative, but the staff was very attentive to all patients' personal needs and kept the process extremely organized so my mind was at ease knowing I was in good hands. I have been looking for a good eye doctor for some time now. After visiting a few (and regretting…read moreit) I decided to give Advanced Eye Centers a call. I used to see one of the founding doctors years ago when I was young, as I've had eye issues all of my life. It was easy to schedule my appointment as I was still in their system after what had to be 8 or 12 years! They went over my insurance with me and explained what I'd be expected to pay at my first visit. I was able to get an appointment scheduled about two weeks out, but that was partly because my own work schedule is busy! I arrived about 10 minutes early and completed some simple paperwork. I was the only one in the waiting room and right on time was greeted by Dr. Michaud, an OD at the practice. My exam was thorough but quick, which was really great as I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was able to get a pair of contacts in my new prescription to wear home and ordered a few months worth to be delivered to my house - super convenient. Check out was simple and easy. They do have an optical shop on premises which is convenient, but I chose to keep my old frames and they do charge a fee on top of the lense replacement charge if you aren't purchasing new ones through them. I elected to shop around for prices, so I didn't spend too much time in the shop. The doctor and staff were friendly and helpful and the practice was very clean. I had a great experience and will continue to visit them in the future.

It was well kept, plenty of parking, everyone (including my Doctor) was incredibly nice and knowledgeable and most importantly it was super clean! I was pleasantly surprised to even notice how wonderful of an experience I had and altho I don't want to be sick, it won't be more of a painful trip if/when I do have to go back.

I was worried about the surgery because this could affect my gait. I made the call and received an appointment with Dr. Michael Reuter. I hit the jackpot! From that appointment until my release date, Dr. Reuter has been fabulous. Not only did he take excellent care of my foot but he also made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Years ago however, this clinic was less than stellar under past ownership, but now it's been GREATLY improved. The office and rooms are super-clean and the staff is exceptionally friendly and caring. My experience was like 'night and day' compared to prior visits. A big positive was the short waiting time...At most walk-ins, you can expect to wait almost an hour to be seen. My waiting time was at most 5-6 minutes. I also didn't have to sit in the patient room for very long either. I was immediately greeted by a friendly nurse and the doctor (Daniela Turacova) just a few minutes later. Dr. Turacova is simply one of the best medical doctors in Rhode Island. Her bedside manners are second-to-none and she's very accommodating. She will ensure that you'll feel better and the time spent with her never feels rushed. It's apparent that she truly CARES about your health and well-being! By comparison, at many walk-in clinics I felt like I was just a number at a deli counter. Cons: The wait is exceptionally long considering the patient-to-staff ratio. It's an $80 flat fee to be seen without coverage, which is reasonable. They didn't pressure me to do x-rays, but upon the doctor's recommendation and being told that the x-rays were usually around $40, I decided to do one, and my foot was indeed broken. They fitted me with a walking sandal and an Ace bandage and I paid another $55 upon checkout, which seemed extremely reasonable. I recently received an unexpected $270 bill. No itemization on it and they didn't apply the $55 I paid at checkout to the balance. I have no idea what I'm paying for. They told me when I checked in that x-rays were around $40, which is the main reason I opted to have one. Even if it was $40 per view, they only did 3 different views. I'm not pleased with this place. Probably would've given them a 3 or 4 stars before. Thanks to this, they're getting a 2.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Dr. Christina Herald at Fall River Vision. I have a…read morehistory of retinal detachment and chronic dry eye, so eye appointments usually come with a lot of anxiety for me, but from the moment she walked in she made me feel completely at ease. She took her time, really listened, and explained everything in a way that was clear, calm, and genuinely reassuring. I never once felt rushed, and it felt more like talking to someone who truly cared than just a routine appointment. Her attention to detail and level of concern were above and beyond what I expected, and I left feeling relieved, confident, and honestly just so grateful to have found her. The staff was just as wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive the entire visit, which made the whole experience even better. I truly hope Dr. Herald can be my eye doctor for life because doctors like her are rare, and if you have any eye concerns, especially anything complex, you could not be in better hands! After years of suffering and several dry eye specialists and no relief (including tear ducts fused…read moreshut), Dr. Herald has finally given me my vision and quality of life back. I took a chance on an amniotic membrane treatment she suggested as I had given up hope, and I just cannot believe the results. No more readers, dry eye at least 75% improved and improve will continue. She is by far the most brilliant Optometrist I have ever had the opportunity to be treated by, and she is exceptionally kind, thorough and patient. While I do not write many reviews, I felt this was important for all the severe dry eye suffers like me that looking for a cure. On an aside---who knew dry eye could effect your vision so drastically!
