After driving on the Alaska Highway from Anchorage, it was great to be in a city big enough to have real restaurants. I haven't been to Boston Pizza in 11 years so this was a treat. I remember the pizza like it was yesterday, delicious thin crust, sausage with a hint of fennel. But a lot can change in 11 years and the pizza was a little bit different. Not as good as I remember it, but still very good. Admittedly, I may have put Boston Pizza on a pedestal after all these years, so I could have set myself up for disappointment, but the flavors were definitely different. That certainly won't stop me from seeking out a Boston Pizza the next time I'm in Canada. It's kinda like having to go to Tim Horton's, it's a must-go-to if you're in the Great White North. read more

Our waitress was incredibly great!!! I would have given this place 2 stars except she was so fabulous. Food was average quality but not a long wait for it which was nice. Its very loud so having a nice easy going conversation was nearly impossible. They should buy and install those noise absorbing tubes that restaurants can buy to cut the noise level down. When cleaning the tables it is sad they don't also pay attention to the cleanliness of the chairs and benches. read more

I like Boston Pizza, but let's be honest, I wouldn't really call it a restaurant, that assumes a modicum of pride. That's pride I speak of, not standards. Boston Pizza has standards regarding cleanliness, plating, and ingredients (whatever levels those may be). So in that, I would compare BP to a factory, like those making shoes or battery operated spaghetti forks. Those running the line at Foxconn don't take pride in the builds of their iPhones, but their jobs are dependent on the final product. I've said before that Boston Pizza sets the base standard for all restaurants. If you are not as good as Boston Pizza, you're basically as doomed as a character in Game of Thrones. And it shouldn't be that hard, should it? I mean BP doesn't even have a head chef. It's true--Moxis has a head chef; Earls has a head chef. BP doesn't. Like I said...a factory. It doesn't employ cooks; it employs workers. Half the food is prepped hours before opening, and they don't really have a choice. Have you seen their menu? It has more options on it than characters in War & Peace. But there are way worse places to go. I'd still go to BP over any family restaurant in town. Why? Because it's the default choice. Think about it, the one thing BP has going for it is the fact that it's the ultimate compromise when any decently large group of people congregate. Get any four people together and have them all vote on where to eat. One person can't handle spicy, another won't touch meat. One person hates Chinese food, another Indian. One wants McDonalds, forcing everyone else to paddle beat that one with lead-filled oven mitts. And then there's always the buzzkill that can't afford anything more than microwaved cardboard soaked in brine. So they all agree to go Boston Pizza. Not Earls or Moxis, but Boston Pizza. When I was part of a rather large local car group, our meets were always at Boston Pizza. When I was young, my birthday parties were at Boston Pizza. Their Guttenberg bible of a menu has enough options to satisfy literally anyone, and to top it all off, it's not even that expensive. But is that worthwhile praise? Should I recommend it? No. Of course not. But I eat there anyway. It's difficult to convince a group of four or more people to try something new. And some of the dishes aren't bad...it's inevitable given the culinary shotgun blast it delivers--something's going to connect. Just thinking about cactus cut potatoes or baked chipotle bacon penne turns me into Pavlov's loyal thrall. The point is that people should never compromise for less. That's what it is--Boston Pizza is a gastronomic traffic light. RED. GO NO FURTHER! You should have been slowing down when you passed yellow but this is it, the lowest common denominator. But here's hoping there's a loud enough voice daring your group to try something better. And for that one depressed individual sitting alone at a table fit for four (because that's as small as they get--they know their clientele), I just have to ask, "What the hell are you doing?" You know there are better places with better food and even better prices. I imagine said customer would look at me and respond, "Could be worse. Could be at Olive Garden." Touché. Great for cactus cut nachos and crack dip. There garden salad isn't too bad either. I wouldn't buy a pizza from there, too expensive for the ones I like. Great for sitting in a booth. I truly enjoy not having to sit in the middle of a room lacking all privacy. Very friendly family environment. Had fettuccine Alfredo, the Alfredo sauce was nice but it was kind of cold when I got it! Tasted okay but I would have preferred it be piping hot! We had the pie-scraper dessert and the chocolate doughcano, they were very sweet, and the pie-scraper is more like ice-cream than pie although still very good! Pizza Good but Pasta is mediocre at best. Overpriced!

Service was ok but no napkins then forget about you and bill comes 80 dollars for one person should get better service then that I think. Ordered appetizer and then buffalo chicken sandwich and no napkins for either. Had to complain to manger the bartender came up like nothining was wrong not tip to her. Overpriced for average food. They also seem to be unable to get a take out order correct. Sent my son to get take out. He phoned in and when he arrives to pick it up he was informed that the person who took the order went on break without putting the order in. He waits about 45 minutes and when he got home the order was missing dipping sauce for the calamari. It is a minor thing but you do expect your order to be correct when you over pay for mediocre food. I would recommend any other restaurant in Prince George over Boston Pizza. read more

I went to Boston Pizza, Prince George recently, one near Costco to pick up two Pizzas that were ordered by my daughter. For two pizzas the second one was to be 1/2 price. I was aghast when I went to pay for the two pizzas and the bill including tax came to $48.01. One was the Tropic Chicken at $25.85 and discounted by $12.93. The other was Rustic Italian at $32.80, including Cactus Dip and Feta at $32.80. These pizzas were mediocre, at best and the toppings were not near the pizza edge. One had large cut Purple Onion on it and this seemed to be the main ingredient. I would estimate that there was less than $10.00 of product on each pizza and closer to $5.00. The discounted pizza price was possibly fair at $12.93 but the full price on the Rustic Italian was ridiculously high. Boston Pizza prices are high for the substandard quality and i don't intend on being a customer there again. read more

I find BP to be a little on the expensive side so I don't eat there often. However, I seen a promo for 50% off your second pizza so I figured I would order in. I got 2 medium pizzas (one tropical chicken, one pepperoni, olive, mushroom), Bandera bread, and a kids meal (Bugs and Cheese). This all came to over $55. First the good.... The tropical chicken was great, lots of toppings and very tasty. The Bandera Bread was great as well, as it always is. Now for the bad... The bugs and cheese was very bland, but I understand it's for kids so I can't really base my review on that. The Pepperoni pizza was lacking a lot and was extremely disappointing. It had barely any toppings on it, in fact there was such little cheese that the olives didn't even stay on. There was maybe 1 or 2 thin mushroom slices per slice of pizza, and there was barely any sauce! It reminded me of the $5 carry out pizza that you can buy, but even that pizza has more toppings than the pizza I just bought for $20! (The pepperoni pizza was the full price pizza, tropical chicken was the half). The disappointing Pepperoni Pizza out weighs the good tropical chicken and Bandera bread. I will not be ordering take-out or eating in from BP again. Just not worth the money when there are plenty of other great pizza joints in town. Sorry Boston Pizza, but you've lost me and my family as a customer. read more
