With the word Pizza in your name, that is how you will be judged regardless of other qualities (bar, other food, location, scenery, dock side seating, etc) So the pizza is just ok. Very ordinary, and pretty much on par with the better frozen ones from the grocery store freezer. The crust was hard, and very little sauce on either of the two pizzas we tried. So that was disappointing. Happen to know that it doesn't take a lot to make great pizza, just consistent attention to details and good ingredients. So this is fixable if they want to. read more

Ordered the fish tacos tonight, took a bite and it was so awful I couldn't eat it. The side that is supposed to come with the meal, as it states right on the menu, they charged me for. A couple of limp leaves with a crouton. I sent back my food, a full plate, they asked if I wanted it wrapped and I said no, it tastes awful. So I sat there and watched my friends eat. Guess I should have ordered pasta, hard to screw that up. They brought me my bill, made no effort to fix the problem, and I ended up paying for a plate of shitty tasting food that I didn't eat. Something was definitely off, I think it was coleslaw. I don't recommend the fish tacos. It is one small fillet broken into three tiny pieces, and the taco is 3/4 filled with a wet sloppy coleslaw. Not new to fish tacos, and this was nothing like I had ever had before. First time too where I sent food back because it was inedible. Very disappointed that they didn't try to fix it. read more

I think it was Zaddek who hosted us. He said he's new but he was great. brought us right to our table so fast and really connected with us. The conversation we had was amazing. definitely the worst and worst food I have ever had started at 7 PM sat down about 10 after seven. They come take our order. That's not bad and come out with our food. The wife ordered pasta Alfredo sauce and chicken was room temperature or worse to touch almost no sauce at all looked very dry. Asked for more sauce about 10 minutes goes by nothing flagged them down. They said they're getting it. then, after quite some brought out some cold sauce literally colder than room temperature. And there's so many things that I'm not mentioning that are not good such as I got poutine and fish and the fish was submerged and gravy I asked for lemons by the time I got them I was done bunch of other small things then at the end they said they removed it off the bill and I noticed they double charge the poutine took between eating 10 minutes to have that removed while I'm sitting there waiting ready to go came back and she said I forgot you said you had kids cards another 8 to 10 minutes goes by. She comes back she says I took 20% off for the inconvenience. I looked at it after it was only 10%. I've never had this bad of an experience with any restaurant. read more

Decided to visit BP given that it was near 10pm on a Thursday and not many options exist in this area at this time. Place was busy and located right on the water giving you boat access. We sat in the bar area which was kind of busy and dirty with napkins on the floor which many servers walked by but didn't bother to pick up! Ordered the cactus cut nachos and a small "gourmet" pizza with a couple of beers. Server brought as the cheese steak cactus cut nachos which tasted like plastic and were lack lustre given that i've had this many times at other locations and know what they should taste like. The pizza looked worse than a frozen kind you get in a box!! Taste was blah. Service was not attentive and while we didn't complain (no energy after having a long tiring day playing golf), we left our food half eaten and called it a night! Did i mention the great location? Just visited the brand new BP...the place looks great! The food on the other hand...is ok. We had soup and it was barely warm, asked them to warm it up...and they brought it back out no warmer. Also ordered a few other things, and they were ok...nothing stood out. Might go back there in the summer for drinks on the patio, but doubt we will return for a meal. read more

Gravenhurst is like the renovated, flashy big brother of the Muskoka Lakes region -- corporate hotels and condos, a fancy newly redone town dock, and the Segwun steamship fleet is based here. So it's no real surprise that one of very few chains in the Lakes region set up shop here a few years ago with a prime location on the docks over the water. As Americans, we were always perplexed when we'd dock in town and see Boston Pizza looming over us -- what's Boston pizza? Did you know Boston was renowned for its pizza? No? Me, neither. Had to give it a try to see what Boston Pizza is all about. Turns out it's all about the Benjamins, baby. Or the Bordens, as the case may be. Boston Pizza is Canada's answer to TGIFriday's or Bennigans (there are over 300 BPs!). But better, yeah. Your options are pizza (duh), salads, sandwiches, pasta, etc. The menu is quite extensive with plenty of options for vegetarians and meatetarians alike. Plus, they *deliver* which is definitely hard to find in the Lakes region. Of course, you need to live in Gravenhurst...otherwise there's dine-in or take-out. And Boston Pizza does venture outside the corporate chain box with offerings like Szechuan or pierogie pizzas, baked alfredo or tomato pastas, Cajun rice bowls, steak or chicken parm sammies, and Caesar or chipotle infused salads. The food isn't going to blow you away, but it's perfectly decent. Not to mention good service and waterside dining -- the waterside dining alone is enough to pull you in! There's even decks running the length of the restaurant so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather and the views. In addition to the restaurant, there's a separate sports bar, making this one of the only hopping spots in Muskoka after 8 pm. Seriously. And it was clutch a few summers ago when the Olympics were on and the 30-year-old rabbit ears at the cabin weren't picking up jack! A great spot to watch the Games, or some games, in a lively, friendly atmosphere. Overall, Boston Pizza isn't a bad addition to the Lakes region...but I *am* glad this behemoth is in Gravenhurst so it isn't blotting out the horizon in our town. read more

On arrival we were ushered to an out of the way booth in back with no view of dining room or windows, met resistance when we asked for an empty table by window. Told it belonged to a different server. Unceremoniously deposited to the new booth in question: there were other empty booths in the same area, must have been about the tips. The pizzas were lackluster, on a par with anything from the frozen pizza section at the local grocery store. Very very expensive. The service was good and wait time okay. We decided to have a late lunch as our friends , and their kids ( aged 9-13) were going to be heading home..our friends grabbed a table and we joined them after 15 mins. The resto was not full.. the server was not super friendly, but polite.. the manager on duty saw we needed something and was very positive and took care of us.. once out food arrived, we all agreed our salads had little to no dressing.. as I tried to get our servers attention to ask her for more dressing, she seemed less then impressed to be asked for something.. our food was okay, 6/10... Anyway... having 20+ years in hospitality experience, to be honest.. BP really needs to step up their game when it comes to training for staff.. just a reminder to all you servers.. gratuity is meant for Great Service.. Not mediocre / or bad service.. Lastly.. BP- Gravenhurst... as I told the manager.. you need to fix your Payment machine so that we .. the client are NOT tipping on HST! Your machine's auto tip option of 15%/ 20%/$25%- is set for us to tip on total amount and not the subtotal amount! This is fraud! No business or client expects to have to tip on the HST! What a disappointment! We've been to Boston Pizza many times, and we're excited to have one open up in Gravenhurst close to our cottage. Situated right on the docks, opposite the Seguin, it seemed like the perfect pace to have dinner. Set up the same as the other restaurants in the BP chain, we felt right at home. After a short wait we were escorted to a booth, and immediately had our server come to take our drink order. After he'd left, we started to notice small things that seemed unusual. There were crayons and fries on the flor beneath our table, and those adjacent to ours,probably from the last guests. Staff seemed distracted, and even slightly put off at times. We ordered the Boston Brute sandwich (2) with the bolognese dipping sauce, and the fettuccini. When the food arrived we'd mentioned to the assistant waiter that they'd forgotten the bolognese sauce, and assumed that they were going to bring it shortly. When our waiter Bernard checked in on us 10 minutes later we informed him of the situation and how his assistants had ignored us. Stunned at our treatment, he immediately brought us our request. While it may seem like a little thing the sauce actually makes the sandwich, and without it it's nothing special. The fact that we were ignored really put us off. We were also surprised at how the kitchen was getting the orders to the tables around us wrong. Dishes were made incorrectly and even forgotten at one table. After seeing this we have pretty much written off this establishment off until they can get their house in order. read more

As you don't do reservations and we wanted to sit on the deck we arrived there about 4:30 p.m. Asked at the desk if we could sit on the deck and were told there were no free tables but we could be placed inside. I walked out to the deck and there were a few empty tables so quizzed the desk girl again. This time she told us that many people were waiting for free tables but, except for one group, we saw no evidence of that so with much regret, we were placed at a table inside. As we sat waiting to be served we noticed many free tables on the deck that weren't filling up. When the waitress came we asked her what was going on. She said she would check and within 5 minutes we were moved to a table on the deck where we surveyed the situation over our time there and at no time were all the tables occupied. We usually enjoy the experience at Boston Pizza, but not at this location. I should have read the other reviews before going. The greeter at the door was so rude and not friendly. She would give us one word answers and would sigh if we asked for more information. At that point we we were contemplating if we should leave and go somewhere else but decided to stay because the kids were hungry. Once we sat down at the table, the table was wet and sticky, and it took forever for the server to come. The kids drinks were brought out with no lids, drinks always have spill proof lids at Boston Pizza. When the food came out, we had no cutlery on the table, and we waited about 10 minutes for the server to come back so we can ask for Ketchup and water. I would give the experience a 1 star but decided to give two because the food was good. If you have kids, I would not recommend this restaurant. If you want friendly service, definitely avoid this restaurant. read more

This place is located in a beautiful part of the town and looks very inviting. I can't tell anything about the food as I did not eat there. But the service was awful, waitresses were not very helpful, the cocktails tasted like instant drinks without alcohol and glasses were either not clean or had a strong taste of their dishwasher liquid. So I have never been to Boston Pizza before, I am not Canadian and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. First off this place looked great from the outside, but that was it. When we got there, I would guess there was at least 5 groups waiting for tables so we decided to sit at the bar. Much to my shock, the place was about a 1/3 full so WTF were people waiting for tables for. When we sat at the bar we waited 10 minutes for the very pretty bar tender to acknowledge we were there ( John Taffer would have tore her a new one for this) When we finally got our beers we had to flag her down to get her to take our food order. The food came out about 50 minutes later and was about the same quality as Burger King, just not good at all. In the mean time I waited 20 minutes to get my beer refilled!!!! This place is terrible and I WILL NOT EVER GO BACK!!! I would rather eat a shoe and drink piss water from the lake!! Boston has never been famous for pizza and this place shows WHY!! read more

The staff is great, always smiling. The food is exactly what you'd expect, it's a chain restaurant. They have a good selection for vegetarian options, which I'm grateful for, but they aren't clear about ingredient content, mainly because they have pre-packaged foods they serve. But it's not very safe if you're dealing with severe allergies, and the staff cannot clarify if an ingredient is present because they don't actually know. read more

So not only did our food take forever but when we finally got it there was only about three shrimp in each of our tacos, and very little veggies. So we asked if we could have some more shrimp in them. When we saw a manager about it she was so rude to us she only offered to give us some lettuce for our tacos to make them fuller and was very insulting. We were shocked by how unprofessional she acted as a manager. So in the end we had our food sent back for more shrimp. We waited for ten minutes and nothing came back so we had to ask a waiter who got the manager to bring us our food, she was not happy about it. Overall we will not be returning there, and the manager who's name is Mercedes should be taught a lesson in customer service. read more

Went with the family this past Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I have been there many times because we love sitting by the lake and each time tell myself never to go back. Service is not good food is inconsistent at best, seems like the place is not well managed. The staff are trying but not trained well enough compared to other places. Also tables are so crowded on the deck next table to us full of guys using the "F" word often and loudly caused us to leave before the drinks arrived. Seemed like a bar atmosphere with no control.
