This question was asked and answered multiple times during the initial sales call. If Republic Services had confirmed during this call that they did not accept these items, my parents would have taken their business to a company that did. Prior to taking receipt of the dumpster, my father called the company back to defer the collection date via their customer service department. This process took at least 45 minutes and during this call he had to speak to 3 or 4 different people to resolve the matter. The customer service experience was already lacking before the dumpster arrived. My parents took receipt of this dumpster on the morning of 20 February and immediately put in the mattresses and box springs. When my sibling and I asked my father what was allowed in the dumpster and what wasn't, my father called back to clarify. Again, this call took an extremely long time and he was passed around to multiple people before he was able to speak to a customer service representative who knew the answer. During this call, Republic Services reversed course and confirmed that they do not accept mattresses or box springs. They told my father that he would be charged extra money to take those items or that Republic Services may decline to accept the dumpster until the items were removed. My parents are on a limited income as they are both retired and elderly and felt like Republic Services were taking advantage of them by making a sale under false pretenses and then backing out on the agreed terms once the dumpster began to be filled at additional financial cost. My father escalated this complaint to a supervisor on Monday afternoon. My father asked Republic Services to partially refund him for the additional money he spent finding another company to collect the mattresses and box springs. The supervisor told my father he would phone back within 48 hours with an answer. 48 hours came and went and my father received no follow up call from Republic Services. My father called their customer service department on the afternoon of 23 February for an update and was told by the customer service representative that there was no note on his file to indicate that anyone from Republic Services would be calling him back. My father then asked to speak to a supervisor. My father was transferred to yet another supervisor who listened to the history and confirmed they'd have to review the information and call us back as per process. This supervisor declined to provide any timeline on how long this process would take and refused to answer the timeline question multiple times. They finally admitted this process would take 4 hours despite Republic Services having over 48 hours to review the initial complaint and provide a resolution. This was then escalated to a senior advisor on Friday, February 24 who told my father again that they would have to call him back. As of February 28, over a week since the initial complaint, no resolution has been reached. This company seems unethical and is not customer oriented. The customer service process is opaque and is designed to discourage any complaint resolution that might benefit the customer. It seems the goal is to defer resolution until the customer feels pressured to return the dumpster so as to not incur monetary penalties for not having it serviced. Avoid if you don't want to be ripped off and avoid if you enjoy good customer service. If you do have a problem, don't bother calling their customer service department and just contact "Solve It 7" instead. I've left a one star review because there is no option to leave no stars.

I had one or two glass bottles mixed in my bags of cans and they made a really big deal out of it that didn't make a ton of sense to me. Yes, I know the sign says no bottles in bags, but one bottle out of the number of cans and plastic bottles I gave did not warrant the reaction they guy gave me. They don't count them in front of you so if I do return I will have to know how many are in each bag to make it his easier and faster. This is a place where it would fine if you understood all the rules that they have, but as a first time person it isn't the most welcoming.

First, I waited about 10 minutes for an employee to man the redemption center even though one came out of the attached store and saw me waiting. I lost my count sheet but knew there were 189 cans. I had 4 trash bags. After waiting awhile another customer showed up with 1 trash bag and a paper grocery bag. 2 clearly annoyed employees counted but I am certain they mixed up our counts. The other customer left before me with half a trash bag of "we don't accepts" and 115 redeemed. We were chatting and they gave her back High Noon Seltzer cans and Coors light cans. Pretty popular brands which I also had quite a few of. I got back no refused items and a redemption ticket for 155. I feel they are dishonourable thieves and should be ashamed of themselves. So annoyed!!!
