We arrived in Boston to celebrate my wife's birthday, and from the moment we saw the hotel's stunning façade and impressive entrance, we knew we were somewhere special. The location is absolutely perfect, and we were greeted immediately by warm, friendly doormen. The lobby was beautiful, especially with the holiday decorations--it felt elegant yet welcoming and homey. When checking into a five-star hotel, you expect to feel special right away, and initially we missed that feeling. However, once we raised our concern, everything changed completely. Isabelle, the manager, was unbelievably accommodating, polite, and genuinely apologetic. When hotel manager Keith returned on Monday, he personally met with us and was just as helpful and cordial. It was clear he went out of his way to ensure the rest of our stay was memorable, and from that point on, it truly was. The rooms are absolutely beautiful--do yourself a favor and book a harbor-view room. The views are spectacular. If you can upgrade to a suite, you won't regret it. Everything was spotless, well maintained, and equipped with modern, up-to-date technology. No maintenance issues at all. Special shout-outs are well deserved. Gladys, who delivered room service most of the times we ordered, was an absolute delight. Seeing a familiar, smiling face made the experience even better. Ruth did an immaculate job with turndown service--attention to detail was flawless. And finally, a younger gentleman at the concierge truly saved the day by somehow finding birthday candles on short notice so we could celebrate with Italian pastries for my wife. I never caught his name, but I hope he's recognized for going above and beyond. Despite a small hiccup at check-in, the service recovery and overall experience were outstanding. What a lovely hotel! This past weekend I stayed in a room with some visiting friends. Even at a late hour, check-in was smooth and there were plentiful, helpful staff available. We got a city view room with 2 queen beds and were floored by how spacious it was! The bathroom was beautiful as well, stocked with every product you could need! The unused products from the stay made it home in my bag...not sure how. The beds were very comfortable, especially the sheets! I hate starchy feeling sheets you typically find at hotels. These were soft and truly felt luxurious. My only complaint about the room was the I-Pad found between the beds. I couldn't turn the brightness down and it seriously LIT up all the room all night. I ended up shoving it in the chair cushion so it was dim, haha. I'd love to stay here again and maybe get a room with the harbor view! read more

Stayed for two nights and loved this hotel! Service was the best I've maybe ever had at a hotel. Check-in, concierge, housekeeping, turndown, bar, doormen were all great - friendly, professional without being pretentious. No details were forgotten in the room - complimentary water was replaced every morning and evening, slippers laid out, fold-out sofa was made up and folded up each morning and then made up for bed at turndown, all toiletries refreshed twice daily. I know that all sounds silly -- but it rarely happens anywhere anymore. Concierge recommended (and made the reservation for) a great spot in little Italy for dinner. Loved the gym, sauna, and golf simulator! Didn't use the pool, but it looked great. Perfect location - steps away from one of the best lobster roll spots in town. Didn't try the on-site restaurant - too many other fun places to try in the neighborhood. And the house car wasn't available the weekend we were there, but Uber was fine. Absolutely magical! We stayed here for my 40th birthday trip and I could not be happier. A birthday treat was waiting when we got to the room. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and so clean. The room was spacious, the amenities were plentiful, and the views! I would stay here again for the views alone. We ordered room service and enjoyed the dark bar a few times. We found this hotel on Expedia as we had to make a sudden trip during a time where hotels were in demand and prices were higher than normal. We can across this hotel for a rate higher than we would normally like to pay however it fit the need and quick timing. Upon arrival (and before) we were highly impressed with the staff and quick attention to our needs. Our trip was a medical trip and lots of moving parts. This hotel was a complete experience and top notch it was. The attention to detail from everyone was appreciated and outstanding. Our stay was over 5 days and we did take advantage of room service. The food was amazing. We didn't care for the in room nespresso machine and bought our own 5 cup coffee maker for the stay. Excellent location, loved the Dandelion coffee shop (espresso martinis in a can), and proximity to everything. We had a harbor view and it was perfect. This hotel was BALLER! I checked in and see there are Nespresso pods in my room, the bath products were high end and they turned down my bed when I came back from dinner?? The only part that sucked, valet parking was a fortune. Other great features, the location is amazing. You'll be staying in the harbor, each room has amazing views. The bed was super comfy and the sheets, is that 1200 thread count? The staff was super helpful and greeting me checking and leaving for the day. Everything and I mean everything made my stay great. Great location! We can walk to Bunker Hill monument in about 1.7 miles from the hotel! You can leisurely walk there, with a few stops on the way! We had breakfast at the hotel, the blueberry ricotta pancakes is to die for! The lox and bagels was really good too, salmon was really fresh! They also had a nightly music band here from 6 pm to 10 pm! There's two more shows left for the summer season! The service was great and I definitely would stay here again if I come back to Boston! Haven't stayed here but have walked by many times and have been inside to use facilities and cozy up to the bar. The office for the Harbor Cruises is right behind the hotel. While waiting for our christmas eve cruise, they suggested to go in and have a drink at the bar. Friendly and quick service-pricy due to where you are. Dining room is pretty with harbor views. Beautiful hotel. Convenient parking w $36 over night rate on weekend. Several days prior to checking in I got an email asking for my preferences to make my stay special. I said high floor, away from elevator, and feather pillows. Two days prior to checking in I hot 4 emails confirming my choices. Checked in and got first floor of rooms, first room off of elevator and stiff as a board pillows (have headache because neck is stiff). It would have been better to not ask at all but that experience backfired. Additionally, went to restaurant to grab a quick bite. They had just opened and there were very few people there. We didn't get our first and only drinks until after we finished lunch. They took the drinks off the bill but how does that happen? Lastly, we went to the Dark bar hoping for a better cocktail experience. It was crowded and they only had one bartender. My wife ordered a white wine spritzer. He made it with Prosecco. We asked that he make it w soda and he did shaking his head the whole time. Overall, a disappointing 18hrs. read more

Decided to take an overnight in Boston.. and chose this hotel because of location and reputation. What a GREAT decision. You can get anywhere-- we made sure to walk to north end and then reversed ourselves and went to the seaport all without over exertion. The room was extremely clean and everything was of high quality. We were provided a mini-fridge for some leftover and water--- and the attention and detail to install and confirm the working status was extraordinary. The views are lovely and we saw the harbor with all the activity at Logan Airport. Sea Grille recommended and will definitely return for dinner. Self- parking in next door garage is simple and they have an elevator that connects to the lobby. All season, all fun and will return! read more

Highly recommend if your looking for a spot right on the water and a view if Boston Harbor. Located at the Boston Harbor Hotel in Downtown Boston. Beautiful setting. Outdoor seating. Our Waitstaff, Michael, Gemma and Antonio are attentive, friendly, professionally and courteous. The menu are "small plates" and perfectly proportioned for just a bite and drinks. We were a party of 3 and got a chance to try the different selections in the menu. First off the mini lobster roll wasn't exactly mini. Packed full of lobster meat and for the price of $18 was the best deal on the menu. Easily would have been $30 elsewhere. Tasty and refreshingly perfect. Also ordered the Buffalo wings, wagyu slider, scallion pancake flatbread, truffle fries and the fruit pops for dessert. All were excellent, absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. Compliments to the Chef! Also, free live music concert is available on the barge on the water Tuesdays through Fridays. The "Summer in the City" formerly known as The Summer Series which is an added feature for ambience. Highly recommend. Will definitely revisit again. One of my favorite spots in Boston. My wife and I just spent a week at the Boston Harbor Hotel and were extremely disappointed. Despite requesting the minibar be emptied before our arrival--because our daughters were staying in the adjoining room--we were again charged for every item we never touched. Our king suite felt more like a neglected guesthouse: neither the bathroom nor bedroom door would stay open without propping them with a trash can, the coffee table was badly damaged, the couch armrest sported an obvious stain, and there was a huge scuff on the wall. To top it off, the body-wash dispenser in our daughters' room was completely inoperable. After staying here regularly since 2017, I expected true five-star service--unfortunately, my loyalty is now in serious doubt, and we're considering moving our business to the InterContinental next door. read more

We stayed there, again, January 2024. Boston had flooded that week so maybe that's why it happened... but there was a rat in our room. It's such a bizarre thing to write. They moved us immediately and to a nicer room but I never heard from the hotel about it when I emailed them about it. The hotel has gone dramatically downhill since my review in 2023. There was mold in the shower. The food (via room service) was not good- even the cookies. I don't see myself staying here, again. read more

It was my first wedding at the Boston Harbor Hotel, and I was in it. We met up in a suite upstairs, and the bellhop accompanying me in the elevator had to tap his card. Yes, security. The suite was roomy enough for three ladies to be worked on at a time in the living room while another lady was found doing her nails at the couch. The bedroom wasn't the most spacious, with the flat screen television set right at the foot of the bed. We were provided with a room to gather, just a few steps up from the lobby floor, and below the stairs which led up to the Atlantic Room, where the ceremony would take place. It was spacious, with a nice window where the photographer took the opportunity to take some picturesque shots of the bride and then the bride and her father. It turned out a bit far though for our poor wedding coordinator friend who came down to bring us up for our entrance (as none of us were able to carry a cellphone for her to call between our bouquets and our gowns). The Atlantic Room was L shaped with a stage raised up at the base, by the window. Turns out the sun light outside made it hard for the guests seated facing the stage from further along the long part of the L shape to see what was actually going on. There was also a breeze which caused one of the two lit candles to melt down really fast at an angle. Additional seats set along the shorter end of the L was great for sneaking in late comers through the side door. Scheduling a rehearsal in the ceremony space was tough. We ended up having it a month prior to the event, and were allotted only an hour. So basically we only had the chance to do one run through, and immediately forgot what we were supposed to do. Fortunately our presiding pastor said not to worry, he'd help the bride and groom. The cocktail hour and reception were held across the way at The Wharf Room. Fortunately we were blessed with fine weather - no rain and just slightly cool - so we had no trouble making our way over. The private space allotted to the bride was actually a walk through coat room that they had emptied out. We had to ask for them to assign someone to keep guests and staff out so she could leave things stashed in there whenever she wasn't actively changing outfits. The cocktail space was irregularly shaped and set with two bar stations. The staff did their best to make their way through the space with their platters. I managed to get myself a few bites. The lamb chop was great, as were their mini crab cakes. The banquet space was separated by several double doors. Dance floor in the middle between the square columns, with a table for two set before the stage where the band was playing. The room was lit with colored lights, and beautifully decorated with flowers. Given where I was seated at my table, however, I couldn't see much due to the column that stood squarely between me and the stage. Half of my table had responsibilities during the meal, so unfortunately our dinner grew cold as we awaited our cue outside the banquet hall. But when our duties were completed and we turned our attention to the filet mignon and the sea bass awaiting us, it was quite good! The meat was tender, the fish perfectly cooked, and I particularly enjoyed the corn flan and crispy potato cake. Unfortunately, during our short turn in having our table photo taken with the bride and groom (just to the side of our table), we returned to our seats only to find our plates in the midst of being prematurely cleared. I tried to get the older gentleman to stop, but he just said a quiet apology and kept going. A sore disappointment since my plate was still a third full. (In following with my belief that it isn't fair to just take your complaints online without having given the business a chance to handle the issue in real time, I did let the well dressed gentleman whom I perceived to be in charge know what happened. And when the bride later asked her bridal party to spill the beans on what might have happened at her party that she had missed, we told her as well, and she said that she would bring it to his attention as well.) Fortunately, after my slice of cake, made in house, I was contentedly full. It was lemon poppyseed with a raspberry filling, and satisfied the tame sweet tooth of the older generation at the reception. Parking at the hotel is normally $60 valet/$49 self-parking (according to their website), but on evenings and weekends, the price tops out at $18 at 30 Rowes Wharf by the entrance to the Residences at Rowes Wharf (https://en.parkopedia.com/parking/underground/rowes_wharf_garage/02110/boston/?arriving=201910082130&leaving=201910082330). The space down there is a bit cramped, I was told. I, however, had managed to find a metered parking spot on a Sunday, though I did have to drive around a bit first. read more

We've stayed at many five-star hotels, but the Boston Harbor delivered exceptional quality and service without being snobbish. Everything from the amazing breakfasts at Rowes Wharf to the wonderful recommendations and help from the concierge, we couldn't have been more pleased. And let's just talk about the room for a minute. I'm super picky about hotel rooms. Well, they usually gross me out because they're never clean enough for me. With the Boston Harbor, it's like they put all new Frette linens and towels in our room just for us and did some extra cleaning. Plus, daily housekeeping AND turn-down service isn't common these days. And the harbor view...wow. We loved this hotel and this city, and it was a great way to celebrate our ten-year anniversary. Wow, I can't say enough about the Boston Harbor Hotel! My husband and I spent 4 nights in the Constitution Suite for our babymoon and it blew us away. Not only is the suite itself stunning, but the service and attention to detail was top notch. From check in to check out. When we checked in they had snacks for the both of us which included sparkling cider (since I am pregnant) and 2 adorable stuffed animals with my daughters name on the card. It brought us both to tears seeing that! Then at check out the gentlemen told me he hoped to see us back again but next time with baby! Showing they paid attention to who we were and why we were there. Absolutely incredible. We had zero issues during our stay. There is so much to do within walking distance also! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel for the Boston Marathon in 2022. Everything was amazing. We booked this hotel through the Boston Marathon Tour. When we checked out, the reservation/concierge told us that we could get the same rate if we book directly from the hotel next time. We thought that was a very nice gesture. (although they make more money doing that than us getting a deal from the Marathon Tour). Anyway, we were not bothered to visit the Marathon Tours' website this year because we were promised to get the same rate. When I called the reservation, they would not give me any discounted rate. I even called twice and asked. One person asked me if I remember the concierge's name. I don't understand these type of questions ....Who would remember a random concierge's name from a year ago unless I become friends with the person. Anyway, she told me she would reach out to the manager. I never got a call. I wish people don't casually say these things because someone like me would believe it :-( read more

We booked a "Night in Paris Romance Dinner" for Valentine's Day. Turns out the event was not a romance dinner for you and your loved one but a group seating event for a table of 8. We asked for a refund and they refused. They then said we could get a gift card but would deduct 5%. I booked this dinner to spend with my girlfriend on our very first Valentine's Day together. We were in town for a family wedding and were very pleased with the accommodations and even the lobby area with seating at a fireplace. Our family was able to reminisce and have coffee with many family members and friends in town for the festivities in the area by the fireplace. read more

The lower star rating has nothing to do with the staff. Everyone we met from the door men, bell hop, front desk, and cleaning/maid staff were all fantastic. The hotel is gorgeous overlooking the harbor and spotless. They pump some kind of smell in the vents which I found nice but if you're sensitive, it may not be. The maid service and turndown service every day were very nice. They fill your ice bucket, get your water glass ready next to the bed, put out your slippers, etc. Where they lose some points were when we arrived (already an hour past check-in) we were informed it would be another hour until the room was ready. After a long morning, flight, and ride over to the hotel, I just wanted to lay down for a minute. So that wasn't good. There are no ice machines anywhere, you have to request ice from room service and they also fill your bucket in the evening. Theres no breakfast which I found odd for this type of hotel. I did order room service one night. I got a pizza. It was good except the crust was so hard I couldn't eat it. The staff really was amazing though and everyone went out of their way to make you feel taken care of . One final negative was that while we are here, the fitness area, pool, sauna, etc were being remodeled. We did not know that prior or I would have picked another hotel. They have a substitute gym on the 8th floor with a couple cardio machines and light freeweights. It was useless for me but they did Partner with a hotel up the street and we got to use their facilities. I would definitely stay here again but for a supposed 5 star hotel, I think they can do a little better. read more

Outstanding! We had the best time at the Boston Harbor Hotel for our family holiday staycation! Our family is super careful when it comes to the virus, and we haven't ventured from home in 10 months. BHH had incredible safety standards, which was very reassuring. We ate outside at Rowe's Wharf (in December!) -- the heating lamps kept us warm, and the food was delicious. The staff was attentive to our every need, and our room was fantastic. It was our first visit, but we're already planning our return! read more

We attended a wedding at the BHH last weekend and it was spectacular. The location is fantastic, and the structure is stunning. The pool was lovely but they closed the hot tub permanently a few years ago and that's what we really were looking forward to using. the gym is great and there's a beautiful restaurant on site. Lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays, but I bet is just as gorgeous during non-holiday times. Each room is equipped with the finest linens and amenities. 24 hour room service orders through an iPad. Coffee maker with espresso option. Soaps and lotions that make your skin feel like butter. Weddings are common at the hotel and show the ultimate in luxury. There are a couple bars, but I recommend the larger one to the far back right. It's more intimate and great for a nightcap prior to bed. Harbor views are excellent. And take time to enjoy the fitness room too if you can pull yourself away from the comfort of the down pillows on your bed. They made our Christmas Eve exceptional! We stayed at the hotel as a way to avoid the pain in the loss of our daughter and be sure that things were different - even though we live only a few miles away. Every detail that the team took care of made us feel comfortable and cared for. When we arrived the team knew who we were "you must be the Tates". The room was outstanding with a stellar view of the water. The ocean has many healing qualities and for me to be able to stare out at it was amazing. It was a wonderful oasis that really did make the holiday much easier. Being "in the business" I know all of the hotels well. The Boston Harbor Hotel has the perfect blend of classic hospitality and modern amenities. It is welcoming because of the look and feel of the decor as well as the staff that has been there for a long time. The thought that went into your Covid safety protocols and assurances did not go unnoticed. From everything that you regularly touch in the room being packaged carefully with a note to let us know it had been sanitized to the helpful instruction we received upon entering the restaurant, all of it made us feel very safe. I cannot express how much this meant as a way to end an extraordinary difficult year for our family and for the hospitality industry. read more
