I called 99 twice to have the wall fixed, emailed them twice, and sent them two facebook messages asking them to fix their work. They stuck me with a half-finished, warped wall, which had to be completely re-done. See my pics of their horrible work and horrible customer service. Do not use 99 Handy. Update 12/20/2016 - 99 has not reimbursed me, as they claim in their below response. They were also untruthful about the materials purchased. The weekend before he was scheduled to arrive, Stephanie contacted me to say that Paul was too busy to come on Monday and it would have to be pushed to Tuesday. I explained that I was moving and that Monday would be better since I need to get it fixed. She insisted that he had to come on Tuesday, and told me that he had time to both provide an estimate and both fix the fan on Tuesday. I left work early in order to get home for Paul to arrive at 6:30 PM. He never showed up. I emailed Stephanie around 7 PM and she told me that her she had emailed me but "it must have gotten caught in her outbox", but that Paul had gotten caught up in the previous job and wouldn't be able to come. I explained, again, that I would be moving and needed this fixed. Stephanie told me she didn't know what I was talking about, that even if Paul could come provide an estimate he wouldn't be able to fix it. I responded back with a screenshot of Stephanie telling me he could both provide an estimate and fix it in one day. Stephanie then promised me that Paul would arrive at 6 AM the next day to fix it. I was very clear, again, with Stephanie that my movers were coming at 7 AM and he had to be on time since I was leaving. I got up super early to be ready for his arrival... and he arrived at 7:15 AM, an hour and 15 minutes late, as my movers were in the midst of moving. He did tell me what the problem was, but said he'd have to come back and fix it. I told him he'd have to coordinate with my tenant who was moving in. I connected Stephanie and Paul with my tenant. She scheduled two times for him to come fix the issue and both times, he never showed without notice. Finally my tenant emailed Stephanie and Stephanie responded that she no longer works for 99 Handy. I texted Paul twice last week asking him to please fix the gaping hole in my bathroom wall, and got no response. Please stay away at all costs. I don't know how anyone could possibly give them a good review. And Paul, please feel free to respond to my texts.

We were quoted an estimate of $1,500-$2,500 over the phone. Imagine our surprise when the final invoice came in over $3,500. For two hours of on-site work with little water removed and equipment that didn't function properly (one dehumidifier showed a flooding error), the value just wasn't there. When we called to get clarity over the weekend--crickets. No callback. But someone did show up promptly to pick up the equipment and, charmingly, asked for a 5-star review before showing us the actual invoice. To their credit, they later applied a 10% discount after I complained, but that only softened the blow slightly. Bottom line: if you use Servpro, ask for a detailed written estimate first, and brace yourself for charges that might surprise you. Transparency matters, especially during emergencies. But Servpro water removal service is not worth the money.

Victory Plus replaced four double-hung vinyl windows at a rental property for me. While his work…read morewas OK the experience as a whole left a lot to be desired. First of all the project was months behind schedule. Victor said he was sick for over a month when he was supposed to install so that put us behind to begin with. People get sick so this is excusable, but that wasn't the end of it. When the scheduled (delayed) install date came up I got a call the day before where he informed me the windows hadn't been ordered at all. Apparently a quote was generated but the order wasn't placed. This resulted in a further 4-5 week delay. Had Victor actually checked for an order confirmation this second delay wouldn't have happened. On the day of the install Victor told me he would show up by 9am to start. He didn't show up till 11am. On day 2 of the install he again said he would be there by 9am but didn't show till 10am. Not much respect for my time as I had scheduled open slots in between meetings to get him started on the job. The next issue was with the charge to get rid of the old windows. He had included this in the original quote but said that the dump had increased the minimum charge a lot so he wanted me to share the cost. I declined to do this and he got very rude about it with me. I didn't appreciate that one bit, given that the increased cost of the dump could have happened during the long delay and so I wasn't responsible for it. Finally the job included paint and trim repair. He did do this but not that well as he was rushing to get to something else. Had he showed up on time he wouldn't have had to rush but somehow me insisting that I would pay the balance once the job was completed made me an a-hole. He got very pissed off at me and yelled at me that "I knew you were this type of guy when you refused to pay for the increased dump fee." Overall his work was OK but the rest of the experience was lousy. Would not use this contractor again.

The next day he came out and put down fans and an industrial de-humidifier to dry out the space properly. We later hired him to replace the sump pump and fix the space that the sump pump was in so that it wouldn't happen again! He cleaned out all of the moldy insulation out of the area, sprayed everything down with an anti-microbial solution, made the well deeper/bigger so that the sump pump wouldn't get stuck again, and replaced the sump pump. He is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and trustworthy. The kind of person you want in a house emergency situation.
