I have been back to OEM XS several times now and I need to re-evaluate…read more I believe the excitement and novelty of this place has worn off. Some notes: It is cluttered. Stuff piled high on plywood; in corners, on pallets. Quite messy and disorganized. Overpriced. Yes some deals can be found but why rummage through a pile of overpriced stuff? I just shake my head to see the prices- esp the furniture which most of it has damage. Some interesting furniture designs but who wants 1-2 mismatched chairs with dings and chips? I will still go from time to time but It wont be on my fun places to stop to find a deal kind of place.

We drove about 40-50 minute north of Boston, right over the NH border and it was not worth it. This place is an unorganized warehouse of damaged goods. Don't get me wrong I love me some Job Lot style shopping but this place was really dusty and the stuff they were selling was strewn about, stacked up on each other and mostly damaged. We were in the store no more than 5 minutes and I had allergies for the rest of the day. I certainly would't buy something here to bring back to my house. On a brighter note, the staff did greet us on the way in and on the way out so that is a plus.

He communicated with me continually and was always in contact if there was an item in question. I cannot believe how many of the items in my house Walt was able to sell. He is truly a gem! I have another home that I need to get some items out of and I am already in talks with Walt. Bottom line....super professional, HONEST, smart and knowledgeable. He also has a terrific online following, so the bidding is frenzied and exciting. He was also terrific with the pick up of the items in my house. Everyone said it was extremely efficient. update to my review: Not saying everyone will have the same experience as we did (I hope they dont)…read morebut we were not treated very nicely or responded to in a timely manner,. Not knowing much about the items we had to auction (other than they were antiques and we had appraisals for higher amounts for them and were offered more from a private party) - guidance and communication is always the key to a successfull transaction on both ends- and we didnt receive that from the company. As for havingn a knowledge of market vale- you are most certainly correct David- I do NOT - and it is the job of the auction house to guide me in what they feel they would sell for- not provide an 'estimate' that was 90% lower than the true selling price. I dont mind being told the items were not high sellers or rare or whatever- but taking the items and then being told (only after we had repeatedly tried to communicate about the auction) that they were 'junk' and calling a client name and threatening legal action because of telling what happened in OUR experience is NOT the way to communicate with a client. if you were not interested in the items- say so- we would have gladly found another avenue to sell/donate them. I have many many other items of rare and high end jewelry and items in my own home that I may sell at a future date- and I will be going eslewhere to sell if I choose to. It may be a bad review but that is what Yelp is for- to post YOUR experience and let the reader make their own choices... I hope maybe deep down the company learns from the experience that you can never communicate too much , that sometimes with a novice seller you may have to explain things a bit more to ensure they are understood BEFORE proceeding, and if you don't like the items you are asked to sell- to politely decline selling them.
