If you get 2-hr lunches, this would be the place to go.
The ambience is very nice, like the Brown Derby, etc. It feels like Howard Hughes and Errol Flynn should be sitting over at the next table.
I cruised in with a lunch.. We were seated right away, got. 4 burgers, 2 chicken. And brisket. The server was very specific about desired level of done-ness, saying, "pink throughout but slightly red in the middle, right?" I didn't want to get into the intricacies of color theory- I mean is it pink throughout or red in the middle? Isn't it either one or the other? I figured we'd waited long enough to get our order in. I just wanted to eat. Ha,ha, I'm funny.
Salads came about 15 minutes later. Burgers came 20 min after that.
The burger was huge, pink and slightly red in the middle, just like I ordered. And the fries were waaaaaaay good and salty. Par-boiled in brine, salt-domed with an extra side of salt salty. YUM. .
Don't know about the dessert- I had to leave before I had a chance really get into my baked Alaska. I was already super late.
The brisket didn't break into my top 3 but is a very close one at that, and the best in town. On the other hand, salad and steaks looked pretty good, and my crew raved about the brisket. Fine establishment. read more
