Homeowners Beware My experience with this company was extremely disappointing and stressful. They performed deck work at my home, and the entire process was slow, unprofessional, and poorly managed. During the project, their material supplier sent a certified lien notice to my home because this company failed to pay their bills on time. They also left a large, fully loaded trailer on my property for weeks because their dumping account was unpaid and frozen--completely unacceptable and disruptive. As the job was nearing completion, instead of resolving their internal issues professionally, they began aggressively demanding funds and filed a lien without providing proper notice. To make matters worse, the owner's son retaliated by posting negative reviews on my professional business page, which crossed a serious ethical line. This company demonstrated poor financial management, lack of professionalism, and retaliatory behavior. If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and dependable company that truly cares about its customers and doing the job well, **this company is not it**. If you want quality work done right the first time, do not waste your time with this company. Here are some examples with my project: -Using a subcontractor to perform the work, no where in the contract states Boss may use a subcontractor. -Huge mess and not protecting our personal belongings, such as my deck furniture and deck. -Not cleaning up job site at the end of the day. Mess and mud. -Not installing windows level. They installed the window on a plate bolt. Instead of addressing the problem they told me caulk would hide it. -Windows not centered in existing case molding. -Left residue on brand new installed windows. You would think that they would clean them. -Sloppy caulking around the windows. Using our house to clean caulk from fingers. Even missing the top of two window sections. -Flex seal flashing tape done differently from window to window without confident and clear answers of why. -significant financing and billing issues, on more than one occasion. -Late to appointments or no show. Owner, project manager and or receptionist would not have the same information on our project. As you can see, we have encountered a long list of issues with this BOSS and not included them all. While they would always come back to fix the work or "make it right," the sheer number of problems, property damage, miscommunication, and personal loss of time and stress have led us to no longer recommend them. From no-shows on appointments or being late, to property damage and numerous inconsistencies in installation, our experience has been extremely disappointing. We have given BOSS many opportunities to improve their service, but after over a year of working with them, we can no longer stay quiet about our poor experience. Roofing costs have really climbed in price post-Covid so don't be too floored by the prices you're quoted! They all use either Owens-Corning or Malarkey shingles and they're both excellent. I settled upon Boss Exteriors after getting several bids. Theirs was in between the highest and lowest bids I received and the estimator, Eric knew his stuff and wasn't too pushy. Boss hired sub-contractors (kind of a surprise to me - my friend had Boss employees do his roof) who did a complete tear off and re-roofing in a day and a half. The next day, Andrew, a rep from Boss came out to do a final inspection of the work. Everything was tip-top, however there ended up being some roofing/roofers' garbage (paper, plastic, water bottles, cardboard) in my attic, which I discovered a couple of weeks later. Ultimately, I had to pay $2,400 extra after the roofer discovered two additional layers of roofing underneath my shingles (I was surprised that it wasn't discovered during the bidding process but, oh well!). Overall, however, the price and quality (along with a good warranty) were decent and I would recommend them. read more

Boss Exteriors totally replaced my roof and I couldn't be happier. The estimator showed up when he said he would and gave me a very reasonable quote. The crew showed up on time. The job was completed when they said it would be. They cleaned up all debris and nothing was left laying around when they finished. Eric who gave me the estimate came back up after the job was completed to inspect the work and clean up. And the bill was exactly what I was quoted. If I have any questions, Jess in the office has been very helpful and Eric actually came back up to my house to answer my questions. First rate, quality work and excellent customer service. We Hired This Company (Boss Exteriors) to Do a Simple Small Addition at Our Residence and They Could Not Even Get Filing for the Permits Right! For 6 Months Our Project Manager Max Wilson Bumbled Through Even the Simplest of Tasks and Would Ignore Us and Not Return Our Calls or Texts When We Needed Information or Had Questions on Where Our Plans Were and Why They Were Not Completed By the Deadline or Submitted to the City Yet. The Communication Was the Worst I Have Ever Experienced and Our Concerns Were Never Addressed and This Dragged On and On for Months Before We Finally Got Fed Up With Max and Cancelled the Contract. There Was No Way We Were Ever Letting These Idiots Touch Our House or Do Any Construction, If They Could Not Even Communicate or Submit Plans to the City Correctly. It Was at This Time That We Found Out They Charged Us $14,000 for Plans for a 12 Ft X 12 Ft Addition! The Price of the Plans Were NEVER Disclosed to Us and They Hid the Exorbitant Cost of These Plans Within the Larger Price Tag of the Project-Even When We Asked for an Itemized Receipt (Which We Were Never Given) They Were Not Transparent and Have Very Shady Business Practices. We Never Would Have Hired a Company that Charged $14 K for an Addition the Size of a 12 Foot By 12 Foot Room-Totally Absurd! Throughout This Process, the Owner Gabe Callahan NEVER ONCE Reached Out to Us to Check in or See What Our Concerns Might Be. Their Website is So Phony With Old Family Guy Gabe Looking All Wholesome and Honest With His Wife and Kids! The Website Also Makes All Kinds of False Statements and Promises About 5 Star Service and Customers Being Their #1 Concern. Is That Why These Contractors Have Had 5 Different Names in the Past 10 Years? Their Current Website Doesn't Mention That, But it's True. Every Time They Receive Negative Reviews They Just Go and Change Their Name, BE WARNED These People at Boss Interiors Are SHADY and Ripped Us Off for $14,000 For Unusable Plans. We had a problem with our gutters and we were recommended to Boss Exteriors. Eric Powell met me at my home, on a Saturday morning, on time. The project we needed completed wasn't something Boss Exteriors does, but he got on my roof and fixed the problem temporarily, and referred me to a company that can fix the problem permanently. I will DEFINITELY be calling Boss Exteriors back for any projects I need them to complete and to refer them out to others! read more
