On top of ruining our fireplaces, he took out the fireproofing in our fireplaces which was a fire hazard to our young family. Gwen and Edgar came in and redid the fireplaces and the outcome is truly stunning. They are so professional and true artists. We are blown away by the final outcome.

We were having a difficult time picking the stone as well as the hearthstone but Gwendolyn was incredibly helpful. She met us numerous times at one of the stone companies, offering advice and best practices. They helped us order the stone and got us a better price than other companies and vendors. Their communication throughout the process was fantastic. We felt like our business was important to them and they were very transparent regarding scheduling, timelines, etc. Once our stone arrived and the work was scheduled, Edgar and his team were nothing short of consummate professionals. They were on time each day, organized, quiet, clean, efficient, and courteous. They worked hard all day and did a great job cleaning up their workspaces before leaving. Not only are we going to use RamStone again for another project in the near future, we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for masonry work. They are the gold standard. In a time when working with contractors isn't always easy, our experience with RamStone was essentially flawless. Thank you RamStone Design Team!

Communication was great, David even called me to let me know he was going to be a half hour late. Fantatstic work. Would hire again.

I met the owner, David, when he was doing some work for a neighbor. The neighbor spoke highly of…read morethe experience and the result, so I called the company. And I called one other company for a second bid. David showed up in time for our appointment, and his explanation of the problem (80 year old mortar in our brick house was falling out). The previous owner had gotten some of it repaired. That mortar was failing, too. I was particularly concerned because one pillar that carries a heavy load was cracked so badly (see photo) that you could see daylight through it from top to bottom. David explained why it had failed, and how the repair work someone had done years ago made matters worse. His bid that was about the same price as the other firm, but his explanation -- and the bid itself -- were so clear that D. Masonry was my obvious choice. He provided me with proof of insurance, too, a request the other company ignored. They lived up to my high expectations. Watching them work, I realized that tuck pointing is a highly skilled craft, practically an art form. They took the time to mix and try a range of mortar colors. With their help, we selected the one they advised. Now that the new mortar has completely dried, I can see it is a perfect color match. The pillar I was so nervous about? They elaborately jacked up and stabilized things, so they could remove the pillar, which they disassembled completely, laying out all the bricks (with all the old mortar removed), so they could put them back exactly as they were, only sturdy now, and good as new. Masonry repairs -- done well -- simply disappear when the work is done, right? As long as I own this house, my gratitude for this job-well-done will live on.
