We used to use Bo's Electric (now Generators) exclusively when they were a 5-Star business. But now, since they've been sold twice(?) they are no longer the quality outfit they once were. Case in point - I contacted them about getting a riser installed to raise my generator ( which they installed). Got call the following day with verbal quote ($4,500). Awaited formal quote to sign. After close to 2 weeks, no estimate. So I called and was promised formal quote right away. Guess what? No estimate. So I asked their competitors for same. Got site visits and estimates back all within3-4 days. Best apples-to-apples quote -$3,460. Bye-bye Bo's. Nice knowing' ya! read more

We reached out to Bo's Electric shortly after moving into our new home (late December 2024). The estimate was done within a few weeks and upon HOA approval, the installation scheduling was done. Today, Roger and Coco (electricians) arrived on time at 6:30 am to start the installation (their part) and were done by 7:50am. At that point Neptali (gas technician) arrived and did his portion of the installation and was finished by 10:30am! The system was tested and no further explanation was needed as we had this Generac in our Northern home. We were impressed with the phone calls, emails and text messaging that all indicated without any confusion...what to expect and the time line. As for the time frame of the install, they were on the money. They operate like a very well oiled machine. Signed up with Bo's Electric to install a Generac generator on April 30, 2025. No one from Bo's has ever contacted us about the installation since their slick salesman rushed us to sign on April 30th the last day of a $2000 off special. We never received any contract or follow up from Bo's except for an email of City forms to allow them to commence work. We never sent them in. My husband sent them an email on June 2nd (attached email) saying if we don't hear from them we will cancel with them. After not hearing from Bo's, he send an email on June 4th to cancel and get a full refund of our deposit. Then on June 6th, Bo's send us a snail mail with the City forms for us to fill out to commence the work. I thought we were dealing with Bo's, a 50 year old local business. But after viewing the BBB website and saw Bo's changed ownership in 2023 to a Hamilton Powell. I was told I had to call the Atlanta office and deal with that office. We also saw many BBB complaints (attached BBB printout) on people giving large down payments and not getting communications or work for 6 or more months. The slick salesman even spelled my name wrong on the contracts, that should void and cancel any contracts. Slick salesman did not disclose that the deposit was non-refundable. We also were not told that we needed an land survey, that would cost us an additional $800-1000. I have contacted my MasterCard to cancel this charge since it's been over a month that we have no communication or work started. Thank goodness we used MasterCard, who took the deposit of $1700 off my account. Bo's finally said they refunded our deposit. read more

I checked one star only because it is the lowest you can go. DONOT do business with this company. I originally signed up with Bos early april of 2024. The salesperson said that they hired a top notch company that would handle doing all of the permits Because of this permit service the installation would be in Mid to Late June. Late June came and went. At the end of July I queried the county building permit database and found that they had not even filed for the permit yet. I called Bos and complained about the failure to file the building permit and they said they would look into it promptly. ithin a few days Bos filed the appropriate permits. However the permits were all denied because of mistakes. They fixed the mistakes but made more mistakes. Finally the permits were issued and the showed up to install in late August. The two men who did the electrical work were very hard workers and completed their portion of the install. I noticed another man just hanging around all day so i finally asked him what he does. He said he was the gas installer waiting for the tractor to arrive to dig and bury the LP tank. The tractor never showed. At the end of day one, the electrical work and the generator itself were completed just leaving the LP tank to be buried and hooked up. The next day the tractor and a cart showed up. Unlike previous installations that i had seen, BOs did NOT put down plywood on the lawn for the machines to roll onto. They just drove the tractor and the dump trailer right over the soggy grass making deep indentations in the lawn. They finished installing the tank and hooked it up and tested generator. They left a pile of dirt where they dug the tank. What a mess. They said the gas company would be fill the tank the next day. The gas company never showed as they were never notified of the installation. Before leaving i asked about getting the building permits finalized and was told they do it all online and that they would have it do that day. That night it rained torrentially as it does here in Southwest Florida. The next morning i awoke to find the LP tank had popped out of the ground and was laying on top of the soil. It took me a while of calling and talking before someone said they would take care of it. Two days later BOs shows up with a tractor and again crosses the lawn with no plywood sheets put even more ruts in the lawn. They disconnected the tank and out it on their trailer which also was driven across the grass. Two weeks later after many calls they returned and reburied and hooked up the LP tank. Again with more ruts in the lawn and leaving a mess where they buried the tank. The gas company showed the next day and filled the tank. It was now heavy enough not to pop out again. They claimed the generator was working fine as they left. The generator does a self test once a week and it sends a text message both to BOs and myself. THe first text message indicated that the generator was not working properly. It took several weeks before their technician figured out how to correct the issue. I then had to hire a landscaping company to fix all the damaged grass and clean up the installation area. Many wheel barrows of dirt was removed before they could grass the LP tank installation area. I now go back to the county building permit database to assure myself that the permits both electrical and gas had been finalized. The electrical permit had been finalized by the county The gas permit was not finalized due to errors by BOs. It remained errored for ONE YEAR before they finally corrected all errors in July 2025. IT was a HORRIBLE experience. If your looking for a reliable, professional generator installation, DO NOT USE BOs. read more

Don't use Bo's. Absolute scam artists. Gave them 30k for a whole house generator. That won't hardly run my coffee pot. Salesman came out and sold us a whole house generator just like we wanted. the Electricians seemed lost during the installation and after they left they fried one of our air conditioners, failed inspection and had to redo one of the main panels. the first power outage is when we realized we had some real problems. The "Mickey mouse" generator they installed seemed to be having troubles powering our house. It eventually started flickering the lights and shutting down because it coudnt handle the load after and hour. Left a message with the after hours call center and heck I still haven't gotten a call back! finally got Bo's out to diagnose the problem and basically they told us the generator is too small.... Come to find out they didn't load test our house and size generator properly and now they want another 35k for a larger generator that we should have had in the first place. I've asked several times to talk to the manager or supervisor and no one will even call me back. after Some digging I found they have 27 complaints with the better business bureau and also they aren't a local company like advertised But based in Atlanta. Bo's Electric customer service is top notch!! We have been so pleased with the whole home generator that was installed just over a year ago. Our generator had a side panel that had rusted and this was not a warranty issue. We opted to not replace it since it didn't affect the generator itself and was purely cosmetic. Imagine our surprise that Bo's Electric came out and replaced the panel anyway. The technician Brandon Jones and his assistant were so professional and kind. No action had taken place so we reached out to BO's and after much pushing on our part they finally submitted permits in 11/20/24. Absolutely HORRIBLE company!! signed contract 12/2023 and it wasn't installed until 12/2024 and after completing the work it ran but did not pass the county inspection. Fast forward another year and many many phone calls and we still have not had the work done to make sure it passes inspection. To make matters worse, I have an ALF that is required by the state of Florida to have a functioning and permitted whole home generator. If you are thinking of hiring Bo's, you had better think again. So many complaints with the same theme of extremely poor communication and failure to complete work in a timely manner and then leaving their customers in a terrible situation with no help!! read more

I gave my 10% deposit on April 1, 2025 and now July 4, 2025 still NO GENERATOR has been installed. Everytime I called I got NO answer to when it will be installed. I found they lied to me many times. I'm frustrated while in hurricane season. I was told by one woman on the phone that she will call me every week to let me know about the progress if there's any or not, she would call me every week... l have not heard from her!!!! Overall great install experience...I had the "A" team- Roger, Coco & Brandon!! My only issue is some of the info provided by the sales guy was incorrect and resulted in a different install than I was hoping. That said, the install team thoroughly explained why what the sales guy promised was not possible. Roger called me the night before and he tried to come up with alternatives but it was not possible. I've had great experience with the service department for years. Now I'm getting harassment emails from their billing department for an invoice I paid in September 2024. I recommended them to a family member for a generator and it was a hot mess, no communication and numerous delays and errors. Going to find a new service provider for my generator. One star since no stars is not an option. I signed a contract May 30, 2024 for the installation of a whole home generator, ATS and LP Gas tank. I was told that the completion timeline was 8 to 12 weeks. I paid a 10% deposit of $2,437. At the time Bo's had only 5 star positive reviews, now they are getting 1 star reviews. 24 weeks later on 11/11, I called to cancel the contract and request a refund. They have not completed the contract in a timely manner, and I have lost confidence that they will complete correctly or provide ongoing quality service in a timely manner. They installed our generator in October, supposedly was getting 500 gallon according to salesman and first fill up free. This was after the yard had been flagged. On installation day they informed us that it was wrong, had to be in back and only a 250. I signed a contract with Bo's in September of 23. They informed me, it would take time for permits to be issued and it should take between 60 - 90 days. my install started on 1/22 and finished today 2/9/24. although I had concerns about scheduling and timing, the people employed by Bo's far out weighed my concerns. Roger and helper were here first, Roger is the electrician, he was a wealth of knowledge and skill, I was amazed how fast he did his work. Roger was followed in by Donnie and Josh to remove the old tank and install the new tank. They both knew what they were doing and were skilled at it. Today Matt arrived for my start up service, his skills, knowledge and personality topped off what was already a good experience. Last but not least was Dario, he handled the schedule and people. a difficult task that he completed with skill. He was also very tolerant of my questions and concerns. Purchased a standby generator here. A satisfactory and thoroughly professional experience. From quote to start up, every employee was professional and well informed. The excavation for the propane tank was done taking care to do minimal damage to existing landscaping. Installation was done in one day after getting the Lee County permitting approval. No response and contacted two other people, no response back either. We asked them to review the local code again where our house was because there is conflicting information from other contractors. I had Bo's install a whole house generator in June 2023. Roger and the team were professional and extremely easy to work with. At the time of installation Roger told me to call him if there were any issues in the future. We did have a power outage on Saturday night 4/20/24 and had a hiccup with the generator. At the height of the hurricane I called Bo's E;ectric and the owner Steve answered the phone. He PATIENTYLY walk me through the process of resetting my generator. Bought a new whole house generator from them and they hooked it up to all important appliances in the house. First hurricane comes (Ian) and it all works perfectly. Second hurricane comes (Milton) and only about 1/3 of the appliances are working. I call Bo's and ask them to see what's wrong. They do a complete shakedown and tell me that either I can wait until October 21 (10 days away and by that time power will likely have been turned back on!) to have them come take a look at it and see what's wrong....OR.... I can pay $1000 to join their new and improved Omni membership monitoring service and if I do that then they can come and fix this problem immediately! Said membership is for one year. (I am moving in a month.) Wow. $21,000 for a generator that worked ONE time. This is ridiculous and a money grab during an emergency weather situation. Gross. I live in a 55 and older community and we have been over a year and a half waiting for them to finish installing our generator for our water system. nothing but promises and LIES have they given us! Hurricane Season is here again and still no working generator! Always have excuses!! We have MANY elderly people here and if there is a storm and we lose power, we will have to leave our home because of them!!! I've had several visits from Bos Electric for various things around the home. They've always been punctual and in one case had to come back because of a part. Later on I did get the call that they got the part in and they came in to complete generator repair quickly. I had very good experience with them on all occasions. Beware! Bo's Electric installed a gas line straight through the main sewer line of our house. We incurred significant drainage issues (no sinks, toilets, and laundry were available) because of it, causing our house to be uninhabitable for three days. The company claims they are not liable for any expenses that we incurred due to the negligent installation of the gas line, even though there is no question that they caused the issue. When I ask to speak to the owner to discuss the problem, they ignore my requests and refuse to transfer me to him. I use Bo's Electric for maintenance on my generator. As their customer, I am shocked at their complete lack of responsibility and consideration. read more
