I went to Dr. Giannuzzi a couple of months ago for a cosmetic procedure. Long story short, I took a falloff my porch, face planted and chipped a front tooth. I was devastated to say the least because my teeth and smile are my money maker. Ok, I kid So in speaking to a cousin a similar thing happened to him where he chipped a front tooth and recommended Dr. Giannuzzi for a veneer. We actually chipped the same exact front tooth and his veneer was FLAWLESS. I couldn't even tell the difference between either of his front teeth and the color match was perfect I made the appointment for the consult and was absolutely blown away by how efficient and friendly the front office staff was, how clean the office was and how wonderful the Doctor was. After this cosmetic procedure is complete I will go here for my general dental needs like cleanings and exams!

Will never go back! If I had been given a $2000. Estimate I would not have consented to getting the work done. But funny, they waited till after our multiple visits and until the work was completed to hit us with another bill! Buyer beware, the actual bill we got was double what they estimated.

My experience at this practice was highly uncomfortable, with very little attempt on the doctor's part to rectify. In short, I was treated in a manner I believed warranted a negative online review. In retaliation for this complaint, I was denied the information I needed to submit my insurance claim (I had paid up front and then was seeking reimbursement). When I tried to speak with Dr. Parli about this issue, he demanded I leave the office and never come back, and seems intent on keeping the money I prepaid (I have two cleanings owed to me). His dental work is great, I won't deny that, but it does not matter how good his work is if this is how he treats patients.

We have both become increasingly uncomfortable with the front office's communication style and overall handling of concerns. At one point, I explicitly communicated that the cadence and manner in which I was being spoken to was increasing my dental anxiety and making it progressively harder for me to attend appointments. Rather than understanding or professionalism, I was met with dismissal and rudeness from the office manager. More recently, my father had his own horrible experience involving billing and insurance coding issues. During that situation, he was also spoken to disrespectfully by the office manager, who withheld insurance-related information after a negative Facebook review was posted. There is considerably more to this situation, including audio recordings and additional context, but because the matter is still active, I am choosing to exercise restraint in what I publicly disclose at this time. I do want to be fair and acknowledge that the dentists and hygienists at the practice have consistently been excellent. The practice itself also clearly makes an effort to create a calming, comfortable environment for patients through warm pillows, eye masks, and relaxing music, which I appreciated as someone with dental anxiety. Under most circumstances, this would outweigh a problematic office manager, but in this case, the level of disrespect and, quite frankly, unwillingness to do her job makes the practice impossible to continue with comfort.

She continuously updated me throughout every appointment, and consulted with me for every procedure to confirm I wanted the work done. She even told me truthfully when something was not in her exact skillset. I've never found a more trustworthy dentist. She did such a good job that a boss once inspected my teeth and said he saw no work done. He didn't even realize was looking at temporary caps! You absolutely can't underestimate the importance of finding an extraordinary dentist. Dr. Shapiro and her staff are dependable, trustworthy and exceptionally talented. Well worth every trip. And considering the health of your teeth can affect your entire body, having Dr. Shapiro as a dentist is something that I find priceless. I highly recommend her.

She assured me, that she would do that! Unfortunately there was some sort of reasoning, as to why she couldn't do all of them that particular color. ( I completely would have understood), however I would have liked for her to tell me before she gave me the mirror to see for myself... The left side was all silver and my right side was white. I was very mad that she didn't tell me while working on my fillings. Again- this was about 3 years ago so she might have gotten better. I'm just very aggravated, because current dentist would be able to complete that task, however my insurance will not cover it since they're not cavities anymore. Dr. Jaiswal and her staff couldn't have been more helpful as I underwent several procedures, including deep cleanings. She's meticulous and professional but also gentle -- and she was quick to check on me throughout each step of the procedures in case I was uncomfortable. I started even looking forward to going to each subsequent session so we could chat! The front-end staff, led by the pleasant and funny Nadira, helped with everything insurance-related with diligence as much as they could, and they really care about their patients, having always been courteous and welcoming whenever I visited. The office is very new and clean -- impressive for any doctor's office. The staff was meh. My cleaning was ok; I've had better. Former chairside dental assistant here by the way. The hygienist was meh. The doctor was rushed. In fact everyone was They have so many procedure rooms all filled with patients and not many assistants, hygienists and as far as I know just the one dentist. Look, I'm not looking to tell anyone my life story, but where was my exam? I didn't get one any of the times I went -- charting, checking gums, etc. No dental assistant to take notations. But my insurance sure as heck got billed for the exams The dentist would always say ok, see you in 6 months, get up off his stool, throw his gloves away and leave the room. The first two times it happened I assumed things were done differently now since I was a dental assistant -- we manually charted and didn't have digital xrays. So then I wisened up and starting asking about my exam. He'd poke around my mouth with his gloved fingers but that's about it. Didn't even bother to look at xrays -- they insisted I needed a full series every 6 months (keep in mind I'm in my mid 40s and only have 2 cavities that were so small I didn't even need numbing). No root canals, no crowns. But if my insurance is billed for xrays just because it can be at least look at them man. I also have a problem with so many xrays. But anyway Let's talk about the condescending hygienists who tell me how awful my teeth are. Really?? If you've read this far you'd know that was baloney. Scare tactics maybe? I floss after almost every meal and brush 2-3 times a day. No buildup that I can see Now the front office staff and people who answer phones. So rude. They usually just say hello and I have to ask if I've reached the dental office, and I do notice they cater to a certain crowd. I'm not sure how to say this in a way that doesn't sound disrespectful, but being the only native English speaker in the waiting room I have always definitely noticed such a drastic change in the staff when communicating with people whose first language may not be English. I'm very glad that everyone can have access to the healthcare they need, but it's just a weird change I was actually supposed to have an appointment today for a cleaning and exam today but had to call because my car is still in the shop. When I asked when the next followup appointment was the gentleman said next year and was going to leave it at that. Being that it's the middle of December next year isn't too far off but I had to push for that follow up date "next year". Since my new appointment is about a month away I think I will cancel and seek out a new dentist so I don't have to feel like crap and insulted when I go in for a simple cleaning and "exam" Now I see why they got such poor reviews on Yelp (but kudos online?). Dealing with the administrative staff at this place…read more The 2 stars are for a very pretty and clean office, featuring an unusual, (some would say weird and unprofessional) shrine to The Beatles. During my first, consultative visit I got a sales pitch while literally seated in the dental chair. They tried to get me to commit to what the dentist had just told me was an un necessary root canal. The reason for my visit was a cracked tooth, which needs a crown (I'm now scheduled for this procedure at Riverhead Family Dentistry on Thursday of this week) I should have followed my gut instinct to leave, but I let laziness get the better of me as I had already filled out paperwork for my dental insurer. I called to schedule my crown procedure and got another sales pitch for a root canal, which I declined. Then...the fun started! Multiple text messages and confirmations daily. After a dozen txt messages and a half dozen calls, I finally pushed back and asked to stop being harassed. My complaint was parried with the following response "if you want to keep your appointment, you'll need to pay 50% or $700 when you arrive. Do you want to keep the appointment or not?" Wow. I do not. I may, however, go back to see The creepy Beatles display. I'll admit it was interesting.
