Fortunately, I found a parking spot (not an easy feat, btw) and ventured inside. I was mailing a cat carrier to a friend who had leant it to me and I had created my own box for it. Not the best create-a-box job ever, and I was worried that it would be rejected. Never Fear! As others have noted, this is the best Postmaster in the world! He laughed and said "Homemade box?" Uh oh, I thought to my self and answered "Yes" to his question. " I love homemade boxes" he said! Whew! We had a good laugh together, and my friend's cat carrier is on it's way to Wisconsin! Hurray. It's not on the main drag, but once you find Fisk Street, it's easy to find. One unusual feature is tombstone in the reading room. It's a long story, but connected to the extraordinary history of Lawrenceville and Stephen Foster's entrepreneurial father. There's a special collection of reference books in this branch that cover the history of the Foster family. The library had a makeover several years ago, and they lovingly preserved most of the great historic characteristics of the building. The staff is helpful and welcoming, and there's rarely a wait to use the technology.

My only complaint is I noticed numerous fruit flies during my time here. Just a minor annoyance, not that big of an issue.

I went in and the place was not crowded which was good for me. I went up to the first desk and got a number then waited about 5-10 minutes to be called up to next desk. The person seemed nice and he was helpful. That desk took maybe 5-10 minutes max. Then I went over to the picture station and got picture taken then it took about 5 minutes for new license to come out to me. overall I was pleased with the service and the total amount of time it took. I do recommend this location as everyone seemed very good. I would hesitate to stay if it was really crowded. I will definitely go here again if I need anything from DMV again.
