Nursing staff more specifically Ms. Metcalf is extremely rude on the phone and isn't compassionate about her patient's. She sends rude emails and doesn't care about a persons personal life and the fact they aren't getting a pay check when trying to get a prep medicine prior To a colonoscopy. My mother was seen by Dr. Changela at Baptist MD Anderson Beach and Downtown hospitals. She was subsequently diagnosed with cancer after he did a procedure and a biopsy. She had a phone conference follow up on 4/29 and spoke with his PA, Kelli. Kelli was supposed to send in an antibiotic and my mother asked for something for the terrible cramping related to her cancer. 5 minutes after getting off the phone, she received a portal notification to pay $147 immediately as she was sent to collections!! No explanation, no call from the billing department to explain what the charge was for. She has medicare a/b and a secondary, so unclear why the bill. Needless to say, I have reached out on her behalf without resolution and neither I nor my mom have been unable to speak to a live person about this. NO PRESCRIPTION was sent in as of today!! Called with severe pain over several days hoping it would subside. I am an established patient. Nurses was lovely but when she asked the doctor to see me right away, I was told go the the emergency room and setup an appointment for May 5th. It is 4/14, almost 3 weeks out. WHAT A LEVEL OF UNCARING! At first I accepted the appointment with Dr. Courtesy but as the 5th day of pain continued I decided to get another doctor. What a disservice. New to the area I was 15 minutes late. Front desk lady was so unprofessional . This has been my worst experience ever !

I can write a long detailed letter about this organization but will it do any good???I think they are just commercialized, get you in and out. I see other have had many problems with them too. Dr Cavacini, I think has always been a good doctor but You can never reach him, and have to deal with a nurse that calls other doctors and talks about how they cant reach you. The staff(most)remind of the VA clinics they seem emotionless. I've met one really nice lady that works up front but most of them seem like robots. As I said, 'You cant reach anyone" its always phone tag with them. Today I called at 830am told the intake lady about the pain in my side(It wasnt really bad this morning) it comes and goes. I told her all my history with surgeries everything and that this pain isnt hurting bad now but it does feel like a stabbing pain. Its now 1230 and I havent heard a word from nurse, doctor or staff. I've called again and got the voice mail where I had to leave them my number for a possible return call. This place is an office filled with zombies. I dont know of any other words. The experience I had with Borland Groover in St. Augustine with my colonoscopy was flawless from the scheduling to the first appointment to the procedure and completion of my stay. Nice, clean facilities as you would expect, staff was great at every touch and the procedure was completed with results in an expected time window. I will use this practice again without a doubt. My stepson had his first ever colonoscopy at the St Augustine site. He arranged for me to drop him off and for his mother to pick him up. As soon as he arrived, he was told by the ladies at the front desk that the procedure would not be carried out unless the assigned person to drive him home was available for communication or on the premises. He was at no time notified prior to his appointment that this would be the case and he felt that the front desk ladies were not helpful and their attitude was on the sarcastic and unprofessional side. Since at that particular moment his mother was unavailable, he got in touch with me and I immediately returned and waited until the procedure was done since my phone will not ring unless the caller is on my contact list. When the procedure was completed, I got a message from nurse Rick that my stepson was in Recovery and I needed to pick him up. I was not able to call back because the number showing up on my phone was for all Borland-Groover offices at large. Instead, I asked the (same) ladies at the front desk if they could notify the nurse in Recovery since I was unable to call back and to let her know that I was ready. They refused continuously saying that I "was not on the list". I can sympathize with privacy requirements but it was frustrating that I was being contacted by Borland Groover personnel and these ladies would not pick up the phone to notify the Recovery nurse that I was there. Or, even get up (they had been idle the whole time I was waiting) and walk twenty steps to the back and let them know what was happening. Instead, they sent me to the side Patient Pick up which, unless someone bangs on the glass door, has no way to indicate to the people inside that there are drivers waiting. I was fortunate that a nurse came out with another patient and I asked her to notify the proper individual that I was outside and ready to pick up their patient. My stepson was satisfied with everyone directly involved with his procedure but neither one of us cared for the front desk treatment. read more

I had a colonoscopy on 12/15/2023. The care not good due to the person who did my anesthesia needs to be fired. After they rush you out the door. I went home went to bed & hours later still groggy I feel & broke my hip. Had hip replacement at Flagler, still in therapy. Now I have medical bills. After follow up with Dr Pineau with my walker. Told him what happened & he shunned it off. He didn't really care about what I went through. I had this procedure every 3 years for the past 20 years. Last 3 where in Cape Coral. Never an issue after. I called them & asked the anesthesia they use, they gave me the same name as used at borland groover. I told them what happened to me here & their response was whoever the anesthesiologist had to overdose. I am contacting FSMB with a complaint about your clinic. Office was clean anyway. read more

They are not in Whetstone Place, they are in Southpark which is near Whetstone. Anyway, you would be better off getting lost than actually seeing these clowns. I arrived at 1-30 for my 1-45 appointment and I walked out of there at 3-30 without having been seen by the doctor. It's a disorganized mess in there and they are trying to schedule too many patients when the doctors clearly cannot cope with such a schedule - it's just money-grabbing-a-la-USA style. Try Jacksonville rather is my suggestion. Idiots. read more

I had a wonderful experience with this clinic. I was originally going to the Jax location but moved to Saint Augustine so I switched locations. Dr Cortez was attentive and seemed to care about my issues I was having. I have yet to have a bad experience with Borland-Groover. read more

My longtime gastroenterologist, Dr. Rosado, retired in December, 2021. He & his assistant, Maria, were always so compassionate, caring & professional. It was so easy to reach them, speak to them & to get biopsy results as soon as they were available. He assigned me to another doctor in his practice that was staying with Borland Grover, who had recently purchased their practice. I had a scheduled endoscopy 2 weeks ago; I need them yearly for pre-cancerous issues. After 2 weeks with calls to various folks in the practice, I still haven't heard back from a nurse. It's a very long time to go without knowing where cancer is concerned. Dr. Rosado always saw me within 2 weeks after the procedure to update me on medicines, issues etc. The wait times to reach this group are horrendous. Usually, after 10 minutes on hold, you're disconnected. Other times the wait period starts with music which after a few minutes changes to music overlaid with static. If you can stand that, it then turns to pure, loud static. When I called for my 2 week appointment with Dr. Ahmadi, the first opening was 6 weeks after the procedure. I first talked to a lady who said she'd get me the "code" needed to set up an info portal with Borland Grover. A few days ago I spoke with the receptionist & was told a nurse would get back to me with results. Today, I was told the nurse wasn't available & I requested a call back from an office manager. Losing Dr. Rosado was horrible, but dealing with this takeover company is surreal. read more

The doctor was good, but their billing department is horrific. The bill I received two months after treatment was 5 times the original estimate. I never received an invoice, or detailed charges explaining why the estimate was much lower then the actual charges. Instead I was bullied by their billing department to pay the bill. I agreed to pay 3 times the original amount and was assured the ordeal was over. Alas, it was only beginning. After paying three times the original bill, I was sent to collections then reported poorly to the three credit bureaus. So, while the doctor may be decent, be sure to understand what you will be charged or suffer the indignation of harassing calls from billing then collections. read more
