They do everything in house so they have a super quick turn around. I dropped off a roll of black and white and with in 24 hours had the film developed and the photos scanned and emailed to me. The staff is super friendly as well. It's a small family owned shop so they are there to help. I don't think I'll be taking my film anywhere else. I received emails with tips and tricks in preparation for my appointment and instructions on how to get to the studio which included road closures and nearby parking. The studio was easy to find and Roman was ready for my arrival. He was very professional, upbeat, and extremely easygoing. He provided positioning and placement queues for the best pictures. We did three rounds of pictures and after each round we reviewed the images and chose the best ones. Although I could choose several images, I decided on one that I liked the best. It can take up to three business days for Roman to edit the photo(s) with touch ups, but I received mine the same day. I absolutely love my headshot and my appointment was simple and easy - no need for nerves. The only thing I wish I did differently was schedule my appointment on a day when The Biscuit Lady was open. I had avoided doing so because I understand how hard it can be for small businesses, especially in the wedding industry, and I do not leave negative reviews lightly. That said, the request brought the experience back, and I feel it is worth sharing for other couples. We originally booked J & J Studios during lockdown in 2020 for our April 2022 wedding. In January 2022, after I received a serious medical diagnosis, my husband and I had to postpone our wedding to October. Our venue and every other vendor worked with us, requested reasonable documentation, and did not require additional payment. J & J handled things differently. We were told we would need to pay a new deposit to hold the new date, plus an additional fee because they were unlikely to rebook our original date. We were told that if they did book it, the extra cost would be refunded. With significant medical bills at the time, that added cost was not feasible. For context, about two months after we postponed, I had a friend inquire about our original April date, and she was told it was booked. I wish the experience had been different. We were willing to meet them in the middle as far as the additional payment given the circumstances but they felt they could not at the time. I understand that businesses have policies, but during an already difficult and emotional time, we were left feeling unsupported.
