I obtained three names and numbers of tree services from friends and called Sunshine late that afternoon. Before 8 a.m. the following morning Todd had looked at the damage and the whole tree and gave me a verbal assessment of what needed to be done, what the price would be, and when the work could be done (same day). Shortly, I received an email confirmation of our conversation and sent back acceptance as I liked their quick response, what I thought was a reasonable price, and straight assessment without any up-selling. Within a short time, Todd called to update me on time of arrival of his crew. By 11 a.m., there were 4 guys in my yard working on the tree and debris removal. They worked diligently in rainy weather to complete the job. Every bit of debris was cleaned up and the tree looks great and is so much safer now. I was very pleased with their excellent service and will absolutely call them again if the need arises. This is a family business located near Old Downtown Overland Park.

He refused but said he would come back at a later date and trim the tree further back to my satisfaction. I have since called him five times to try to get him to come back. He always has some lame excuse. On one such call he even said he was out of the country! The last time I called, after listening to my request he hung the phone up on me. I should have withheld payment until I was satisfied. That was my mistake, but that doesn't excuse his lack of courtesy or behavior nor the fact that he lied to me and never had any intention of returning to trim the tree to my satisfaction. Needless to say, I will do no further business with him or his company nor do I recommend him to anyone else. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. If you do hire him, make sure you do not pay him until you are satisfied with the work. As the customer, you have the right to have the work done to your satisfaction, and as the saying goes, the customer is always right.
