What can be said of Melissa except that she is an utter angel to work with? She is so patient and always ready to provide the utmost quality with whatever she does.
When we initially met with Melissa in April, COVID was high and so were tensions. The locations chosen were beautiful, but the lighting wasn't the best that day, there were some crowds which distracted//impeded on the ability to capture quality images. We loved the initial location but the later two weren't working out for all of us. She was incredibly flexible and willing to change to a different time to capture future photos. I was taken aback by her professionalism, empathy, kindness and flexibility. These are characteristics that are so important--especially now.
She ensured on capturing the vision we wanted for our photos and was willing to work with us beforehand to plan out the specific posing.
She went above and beyond including checking in with us after the initial shots in the beginning to verify that it was what we were shooting for.
She is incredibly sweet and knows how to create a calm environment--despite COVID nerves that permeate our society and tends to bleed into interactions--she made sure that the session was fun and carefree.
She was willing to work with our location, even though it was quite a distance from where she lived. She was ready to work with the farm to arrive after public hours such that we could capture shots in a safe, enjoyable and unique manner. Not to mention that once we arrived, we were all so taken aback and excited by how perfect the location was.
She brought a bluetooth speaker and played music to set the ambiance and she does a great job of capturing candid shots.
She is also incredibly empathic--she knows how to navigate with individuals like my boyfriend who aren't used to being in front of a camera.
I think it is so important if you plan on having a professional photographer capture photos that you have great chemistry with them. Melissa is willing to put 110% into her work. Mix that with her kindness, her very chill attitude, her amazing equipment, and her talent at using that equipment, and you have the perfect photographer to work with.
