We came here for brunch on a Saturday and even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes…read morebecause of how busy it was! With that in mind, I strongly recommend making a reservation in advance on OpenTable if possible. As for our entrees, I ordered the Omelette Light, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations. The panela cheese came in some cubes (looked like tofu cubes), but I was expecting that the cheese would be more infused and melted into the omelette. Overall, I enjoyed the tomatillo sauce but I still felt like the dish lacked some additional flavor. My partner ordered the Chilaquiles Richi, and my only piece of feedback would be to cut the ribeye into smaller pieces (vs. long strips) so that it's easier to eat with the rest of the dish. We decided to share the French Toast Lotus, which ended up being my favorite dish! The salted caramel cream complimented the lotus ice cream well and there was a good ratio between the fruit, sauce, and French toast -- a flavor explosion in every bite! As for the service, it was a bit slow and less attentive than expected (most likely due to the busy weekend brunch rush hour). There was also a smoke alarm above our seating area that kept going off every few minutes due to having low battery, which is not the most pleasant experience either. In general, this restaurant is nestled in a very cute area of Monterrey, but i wouldn't get the Omelette Light again.

I liked the restaurant's concept more than the food itself.

The moment I arrived the hostess greeted me with a smile and welcomed me to Carolo. Of course I did let her know I did not have a reservation and she was able to accommodate me anyways. The ambiance is chic and the music is fantastic. I was quickly attended by Eric, my server and was very professional. I did ask for dish recommendations and Eric was able to provide me with excellent choices on the menu. So I ordered their specialty which was a Good Morning breakfast dish. This dish had scrambled eggs which were cooked well. It was accompanied with salmon, cream cheese, seasonal fruits and assorted display of bread. Overall the the flavor in the egg was okay. It might need more cooking and seasoning since it was still a bit raw. Other than that it was great. The fruit was fresh and not dry. Hi5! Also, the dish was large and didn't finish it all, and was satisfied with my ordered. The coffee is exceptional and my cup never hit the bottom. My overall experience was good and will definitely recommend this restaurant to other yelp friends. Thanks Carolo.

The place looked clean. As for food, we ordered several items: Boneless Pizza, Don Vincente Burger, and the Happiness Salad. Boneless Pizza - If you like buffalo sauce, this is for you. Thought it was a bit too much after awhile. Could not finish the whole thing myself. I do like that it's thin crust. Don Vincente Burger (Disclaimer: The burgers are huge here. This was shared by two people.) - Tasty but definitely not a traditional burger. The buns are actually waffles. I wasn't a big fan of it. The waffle came apart in several areas after two bites. Also thought it was a bit on the softer side. Think I would've enjoyed it if it was a bit crispier. The arugula and cheese was a nice touch. The spicy peanut butter was also a nice surprise. The meat patty was a bit closer to well cooked. I usually prefer medium. The fried wedges were EXCELLENT. The server also brought out a few different sauces to try. Thought the cilantro one went well with this burger. Happiness Salad - Fresh and tasty. If you like fruits In your salad, you'll like this. There were blueberries, grapes, apples, etc. For the drink, I ordered the TaPaChe. Never had this in my life. I absolutely LOVED this. Supposedly this is fermented pineapple juice. Can't tell. Tasted like pineapple juice with a bit extra flavor from the chili mix, apples, and cucumber. Think there was something else but can't remember. Texture reminds me of soda. Would totally order this again.

The surrounding area is a nice, quiet, family-friendly area. We found parking along Av. Sevilla, which is a street that ascends up a hill into the surrounding neighborhood. This restaurant is the same size as the house lots in the neighborhood. It sits right where Av Sevilla and Av Paseo de los Leones intersect. The restaurant is clean and modernly decorated. It has a small indoor dining area, and a sizable covered outdoor patio. The staff was very welcoming. We opted to sit indoors, and we perused their menu. While I waited to order my food, I got one of their trademark bottled lemonades. I also got a soda, and while I never drink soda back home in LA, the soda here is made with real sugar. So I figured, what the heck. They brought some tostadas with salsa to the table. The sauces were spicy! This is great, as they are usually tame back home. For the main course, I got a breakfast dish with eggs over medium, machaca, and beans. The food here is amazing! It's honestly one of the tastiest meals that I've eaten. It sat well in my stomach, a tell-tale sign that the food here is high-quality. My buddy and I were thoroughly satisfied with out food here.
