Everything you would expect from going into a 'Boots' store. Is a fairly large store that has a good range of cosmetics, electrical items and baby stuff. Christmas always brings a large selection of the 3 for 2 gift deals, making things a lot more reasonable. Also has an opticians (very friendly) and a photo processing area where not only is it one of the few places left that does hourly processing in town, it also has a number of digital photo booths where you can print your own. I would say though, that the quality of photos is not brilliant. Helpful staff that will always do their best to reduce queuing times and, in a store like this where it is easy to get lost trying to find something, they will always assist in the search! Although it can be more expensive than, say Superdrugs, there are often fantastic deals and offers, and the advantage card system is brilliant. read more

This is a fairly large branch of Boots, it has a decent sized baby section, a reasonable selection of make up counters (although no Ruby and Millie) and all the usual toiletries, pharmacy etc. There is also an optician. My biggest gripe with the shop is that there are NEVER enough staff on the tills, particularly on a Saturday when Eastbourne town centre is heaving. Today they had three people serving in the middle of the afternoon and a long snaking queue that went considerably beyond the queueing area. They have recently installed 'self checkouts' at the Terminus Road end of the store, presumably so they can employ even fewer staff members! Actually it makes the situation worse because many people do not seem able to use the checkout machines properly and need assistance, which takes longer than it would to be served by a real life person! Having moaned about all of that, as a brand I think Boots is great. Their parenting club in particular is very helpful for parents and the Advantage Card system is very generous compared to other loyalty card schemes. This big Boots has an entrance on the Arndale Centre and one ont he precinct, so it is the only shop other than M & S that you can walk through to get from one to another to save the long walk to the Arndale entrances. It has all you would expect; a wide variety of make up, hair products, pharmacy,childrens clothes, toys, gifts, as well as optician. read more

Large store situated in the Arndale Centre, with wide enough aisles for a push chair, suitable for all your toiletry and cosmetic needs. Reward points collected on items, has an instore pharmacy, but can get busy, and pharmacists can be less than discreet when speaking to customers, which can cause them embarrassment, as they dont wish the whole queue to hear why they may necessarily be there!!
