There is an Opticians here too which is handy, to go alongside the regular services you'd find in a Boots. I do find shutting at 17:30 to be annoying, especially for such a large town. The only other branch nearby, which is ideal for late openings (Peel Centre Retail Park, Great Portwood Street) also closes at 17:30, so there is surely a need for a store which opens later in the area, especially for the essential Pharmacy services. I did find a lack of staff on the shop floor to be even more annoying, the only staff member I could find was a security guard at the front of the store, who was friendly but not helpful with finding certain items (That wasn't his job and I only asked him as there was no one else). 3* - If you can go into the city centre of Manchester, the Market Street store is much better, I actually had to go in there on my way home as I couldn't get what I needed here.

There was pleanty of staff on the tils and they were really efficent and helpful too. A great store definately one I will be going back too.

The store has the newer Boots branding, which I prefer. No Opticians here but there is a small area dedicated to Boots Hearingcare. If you're looking for a Boots Opticians, you'll either have to visit their branch in Leeds city centre or head to Morley which are both a reasonable distance away. I was particularly impressed by the selection of men's toiletries and oral products including toothpaste. Looking at the negative side of things, I do find it frustrating how they shut the Pharmacy at 7 pm, which is two hours before the main store shuts, and the selection of to-go food and drink in the fridge section is very disappointing, and is much reduced compared to their other stores. 3*

There is the pharmacy, No7 range and essentials range, most of the toiletries brands, baby section, vitamins and potions, travel, perfumes and electricals, photo, sandwiches, salads, juices and milk, some confectionery and crisps. The choice could be larger but given the area of the shop - it's understandable the choice is not that great. The sandwiches aren't good - shapers, or any other brand - they are just plain awful - tasteless and overpriced, the choice isn't great either. The staff are not that warm, some girls who work there are nice enough but they all could be a bit more polite and helpful. The annoying bit is also that the shelves are not stocked very often, so when you want to e.g. want to buy the 3for 2 vitamins of one choice - there will be one or two items but not three. Some products are not replaced in days - annoying and frustrating. All in all, this Boots is not that bad but it is not that great either when it comes to choice and service.

Certainly, not a bad Boots store, which is pretty much a brand which can be found in every…read moretown/city's high street in the UK, while this store isn't the most bright/modern of locations, the product range is pretty good for a store' of its' size, although varieties (flavours/scents of the same product) can be a little limited. This location is inside Crompton Arcade on Mealhouse Lane in Bolton town centre, but due to current government guidelines forcing the mall to shut, it can only be accessed through street-level as of February 2021, which will hopefully change in the coming weeks. The staff seemed friendly enough and happy to help. There is an Opticians area, but I prefer Marks and Spencer across the way for that. 3*

Full of Ibruprofen, shower gel, fungal foot cream and cough mixture, Boots pretty much has every medicine/mixture/pill/gel/washing product that you could possibly need. They usually have some two for ones or other deals going down as well so there's always a bargain going if you look around. The lady who served me at the pharmacy section of this Boots was really very pleasant and helpful, making Boots that tiny bit better than it already is.

Went in on a busy lunch hour for some sarnies, as you do, and realised I needed to get a prescription, so asked how long the wait would be and the very friendly pharmacy assistant lady with the glasses and spiky hair said she'd do it straight away, and then we were all merrily chatting away about contact lenses and glasses for ages. It was most jolly. I also then got some sushi and some fancy vegetable crisps and a bottle of water for £2.99 and they were all tasty. Apart from the water, water's never tasty. It's just water.

They do have beauty and pharmacy counters as well as a small fridge section and other items you'd expect to find in a Boots Store, many of the product range is much reduced to their other stores, the store could have been much cleaner, it seemed a little messy/dirty, especially for a health/pharmacy retailer. 3* - They've tried to make the store modern and the product range is OK, they do have decent facilities although it is pretty much reduced to a larger or similar sized store, the huge store in Manchester city centre nearby is obviously better but this convenient location with parking right outside isn't a bad alternative.

This Boots sells all the usual things you would expect: medicines, make up, toiletries etc. They also have a large electrical range and a perfume counter with some really good offers on. This Boots isn't usually too busy because of its location and you don't usually need to queue long at the tills. Boots also run an advantage card system where you get 4 points for every pound you spend. These points can then be spent on items in Boots which have a star next to the price tag. I try to save my points up for Christmas and get quite a lot this way.

The store is clean and tidy, with everything set out neatly on the shelves, easy to find what you are looking for. There are always great deals on the products, especially Boots No7 brand cosmetics. I love shopping in this store, they have a great reduced section too! If they don't have the item you want in stock, they are happy to order it in for you. There are some fab Xmas gift sets in this year!

Boots assistant needs retraining in Brighouse In my previous…read morevisits to Boots Chemist in Brighouse, I have always been treated with courtesy and in a professional manner. This all changed on Wednesday 19th February 2014 when I approached the till operated by the assistant Ruth to pay for an item. I told this assistant that I wished to pay for the item using my Boots points and that I also had a discount voucher that I would like to redeem at the same time. She informed me that I was not allowed to use the discount voucher at the same time as redeeming points, I accepting this explanation without any problem. At this point she appeared to assume that I no longer wished to redeem my Boots points and once again she gave me the price in cash. I reiterated that I wanted to pay for the item with my points. At this, she very abruptly replied "you did not make that clear to me" repeating this more than once. I politely pointed out that I believed that I had made my intentions clear from the outset; she repeatedly insisted that I hadn't. Her attitude towards me was such that I felt that I was being admonished in the presence of other customers behind me in the queue. Not wishing to engage further in an argument with her, I paid for my purchase and left. If there was a misunderstanding between us, it certainly was not on my part and I hoped for an apology from her but instead I received a scolding. I believe I am owed an apology from Ruth as I left Boots Chemist very upset and reprimanded. I am a very alert lady in my early seventies but I was left feeling that I no longer had my dignity.
