They got me in immediately with no wait, diagnosed the issue, and instead of telling me I'd have to sit around for a week waiting on a warranty part, they went above and beyond -- swapping a tank so I could get back on the road. I even walked in prepared to trade up if they couldn't fix it, but they focused on helping me, not selling me. Thanks to them, I didn't lose a single day of the vacation we planned. When I was in the area, I visited Bootlegger Harley-Davidson, and it was a great experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted right away. The staff didn't just say hello and leave it at that -- they asked what I was looking for, walked me over to the hats, and made sure I found exactly what I wanted. They were friendly, professional, and made the whole visit easy. What I like about this location is how welcoming it feels. Even if you are not there to buy a bike, the staff treat you with the same level of attention and respect. The store itself is clean, well organized, and has a good selection of gear. You can tell they take pride in both the products and the customer experience. I walked out with the hat I needed and a really positive impression. These guys are lying crooks!! They used JD Power to beat you down on your trade, then you use the same JD Power to price Average Retail on their used motorcycle and they refuse it and want $3,500 over average retail. When you point out the hypocrisy, they treat you like a 5 year old as if you don't know a double standard when you see it!! Completely crooked of a dealership!! They were condescending, disrespectful and rude to me!! Buyer avoid this place!! And I'll admit, when treated like this, I ran my mouth and spouted off. As I was getting gas in Kingston, a fellow on a H/D asked if I was going to the 9/11 Memorial Rally. Not from the area, I didn't know about the rally but I thought - Sure, Of course! I'm an American. 9/11 deserves to be respected. So, off I went. Pulling into Bootlegger H/D, I was directed to the proper parking area. Then I wandered around the grounds, meeting people, listening to their stories. There are so many proud Americans in this country. The H/D store is fantastic. I wanted to pick up a few chachkis to take home (I don't ride a Harley - gads!). The staff couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. With the "event" about to start I headed outside. The ceremony was inspiring. I am always moved seeing the Presentation of Colors, hearing our National Anthem ... everything patriotic. What a Day! So proud to be an AMERICAN! read more

I didn't expect to buy a bike the first time out looking but Chad was to good. He took time with me and showed me a few models. He was knowledgeable and not pushy. I ended up buying a less expensive bike then I was looking at first but he didn't try to convince me to get the more expensive one. He made sure I got what I wanted. I'm a female Ducati rider who was stuck. While I know HD won't work on Ducatis, I was very thankful the service department was willing to give me a place to park the bike for a night while I figure out where to get Ducati parts and get it repaired on my trip. They then informed me that when Harley riders travel, if they get stuck, they get priority help. That floored me. While I'm not sure I'm ready for a Harley, I know other women who want to ride either solo or with other women and still be treated well if something happens. I think I'll be mentioning this to women riders when they ask for bike recommendations from me. Thank you for the help when I was having a tough time. read more

I brought my bike here for a noise (Ultra-Limited 38,000 miles). They said it was the clutch (turned out it was not). I asked them to call My ESP extended warranty Co. They refused. They then charged me $294 for the inspection. I later called the Harley ESP Warranty Company myself. First call ESP said clutch is covered! Bootlegger then said to bring it back and they would do warranty repair but refused to give me the inspection fee back (which is covered under the warranty). Had they called on my first trip, my out of pocket would have been $50. I'm out $294. NOT my fault they refused to call in first place! BAD service here ...and I still have the noise!! read more

My wife and I were riding to Nashville for a 10 day trip over Memorial Day weekend. Long story short, I got a flat tire 15 miles west of Knoxville late Saturday afternoon. I waited for the tow truck knowing that the dealership would be closed by the time we got there. When we got there, yea, they were closed but Joe Losey from the parts department waited for me to arrive. This meant a lot to me and REALLY meant a whole lot more considering storms were coming and he put the bike inside. The next day, Sunday, they opened to work on not just my bike but others. Greg Bullen (service manager) and John Paul (service consultant) did everything they could to get us back on the road ASAP, .... (even some psychological counseling) I can not say enough good things about these guys and the dealership. The customer always comes first here. We have been in this store many times now - first, looking around at motorcycle inventory and, second, purchasing parts and accessories. My husband has purchased here in the past and never had any issues. We never really purchased a lot of parts or accessories until recently, however, and we have been in a LOT over the past couple of months now. The parts guy, Ryan, has been beyond helpful finding what we've been in looking for. We are customizing two bikes - one for the hubby and one for me. One is getting some chrome upgrades, while the other is getting blacked out completely. We have kept Ryan pretty busy in some searches and ordering for us, that's for sure! Everyone is always very friendly here. They are super helpful too. This is a nice location, and we would definitely recommend. They have events pretty often, as well, if you enjoy hanging out...and double points quite frequently on purchases too! Always a nice incentive to spend more... Hahaha!! I ordered two parts from them . got a call that my parts were in drove 30 miles to get them only one part was there and they ordered parts I already got months ago and charged them to my credit card when I ask them to refund my card they said they can't the manager is not in so now I have to go over my credit card bill . after I got home one hour later they called and said the other part was in not happy . will never use them again Harley shops are A dime A dozen get your shit together read more

Parts department has forgotten to order parts for me on several occasions even after reminding them on the phone. I was forced to look up the part number myself and go directly to another shop to receive the parts. Additionally, the service department is next to useless and maintains a bad attitude. I ordered a Harley clutch Hub from their parts department then went to the service to install it for me. They said they only will do it if I buy the entire assembly. Which is only so they can make more money, and not because the rest of my parts are broken. On top of that when I was explaining what I needed the gentleman was very disrespectful in that he said directly to me I know how to fix it but I won't fix it. Very dissatisfied with the customer service especially the service department, and would note that if corporate is looking for reasons why the HD brand is failing this dealership is the perfect example. read more

Exchange policy is too strict! We bought a tee shirt for a friend who rides. When his birthday came up it turned out we bought the shirt a size too big. The manager refuse to even entertain the idea of an exchange after 30 days. I have dealt with other Harley Shops across the country and even in Canada have been more understanding and have worked out exchanges with us after their exchange policy period.
