It's a great combo. So when he found this place on his own and asked to go, I was thrilled. The salon is in a strip mall off a main road in Herriman. Once you step inside, though, there is more of a downtown vibe. There's great music playing that makes you want to dance, it's bright and clean and everyone seems to be happy to be there. It's a place I wouldn't mind hanging out in. Nate, who cut my son's hair, did a fantastic job. He listened to what my son wanted, albeit they were vague requests. Empire does full service barber treatments, however, I also saw a female getting her hair done-so this place is not just for the men! I used to go to the Riverton one but my hairdresser does not work there anymore so I chose this South Jordan location. Coming right in a male greeted me, in my mind I was a bit confused because I thought sports clip only has female hairdressers, well I don't mind so. I can see that he is pretty new in this location. He wasn't very familiar with which tablet is used for check in, he has been saying "alright" to me many times, he uses the comb to measure the length every time, his hand was a bit shaky cutting my sides, and his coworker came to made sure the haircut was good at the end (in which he did a great job). Despite of all of the above things that I observed, he is good. I was pretty picky and asked him several times to cut shorter for my top, several times to blend/fade higher for my sides, keep my bangs longer, thin the top, etc. Although he took longer than usual, he was patient and was listening very well to my demands. To be honest, compared to other more experienced hairdresser, I think he did a better job. He was able to see how I like to style my hair by what I asked for and worked with me. I actually like him more than others as I feel like he knows more how men like to style the hair. He was more cautious and would pay more attention to details that others do not. We were talking and we were saying that sports clip has a high turnover rate, and I should give them like at least 3 times to cut my hair to give them a fair ratings. But some of them cut my bangs right after I told them not to, and they are out. Sport clips is technically an expensive hair salon in my opinion, but it is not easy to find a good hairdresser honestly for Asian hair, and I will come back to him.
