I've heard about Bootie for years and have never gone. Hot spots for me and my friends were Temple, Ruby Skype (RIP), 1015, etc. So I was pretty excited that my friends friend was planning a trip out there for Dranksgiving! We ordered tickets online for $15 ($18 including fee) day of... Well more like a few hours before. We got to the venue a little before 11pm and it was pretty empty. The nice part about that was the bar wasn't crowded! They take card and the drinks were pretty strong! My bf got me a tequila sunrise and he got the Moscow mule. The dj mixing that night did such a great job! He got all the popular Selena Gomez songs mashed with edm oldies from 2013 our group has such a fun time. Fast forward to a few hours later... My bf and I got hungry, so we went to the pizza place conveniently next door! It was about $4 a slice. We went back on to the dance floor and that's when I checked my purse and my Pixel (I've had it for one week at this point) wasn't there.... I remembered the last photo I took of my Pixel was the pizza... (To post to Yelp lol) so I jotted over there and the cashier didn't have it. So he said to ask the front of bootie. There is a lot of wildness going on here, and a lot of great people to be met! Be cool as hell, and you will have a very good time. Be closed-minded, and you are going to have a very bad time. Scanning through Bootie's pictures on Yelp made me nervous. I'm no punk rocker, mosh pit jumper. I'm just a retired party girl who now fist pumps while sitting my colossal bootie on the couch. Having to walk past junkies on the sidewalk and the Hell's Angels to get to Bootie made my granny panties bundle all up in a bunch. What da f*ck did I get myself into? THE.BEST.PARTY.IN.SF. It's no wonder that Bootie has a 4.5 stars overall rating on Yelp, has a Wikipedia page and has been voted as SF Weekly's "Best Club in SF" for seven years in row! I had the BEST grimy clusterf*ck time in my life on Saturday and I wasn't even drunk. Don't worry, Bootie is NOT a punk rock party as the pics make it seem to be. ~ * ~ * COVER * ~ * ~ *$10 before 10 pm *$15 thereafter *$15 (+$2 service fee) for advanced tickets which includes a line skip. DO this! It's worth every penny. ~ * ~ * DRESS CODE * ~ * ~ NONE. Bootie is INCREDIBLE in all the ways a club should be. Even thinking about it makes me want to shake my butt in my office chair right now. Everyone here is happy, friendly, and energetic (you can even go up on the stage to dance!). The music is great -- they play 90s music mashed with current songs, which often goes anywhere from Backstreet Boys to Katy Perry to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Britney Spears. Really great vibes. Unlike some of the other clubs in the city, Bootie is very casual and doesn't have a specific demographic. TIPS: - Arrive after midnight. 90s mashup music doesn't start until then, and people are the craziest after that time too. - If you're sure beforehand that you're going, buy tickets online. It's $15 for the ticket + $3 service fee, so you save $2. That's $2 you could be spending for 2 items on the Dollar Menu! - BRING CASH (entry is $10 before 10pm, or $20 after) -- if not for entry, then for buying drinks. There are ATMs located inside, but it's such a hassle. - Go to the bathroom before you leave for the club. Lines for the bathroom get long because there are hardly any stalls. - There's a pizza place next door. Can you say drunchies? The only negatives are that it's often jam-packed (be ready to rub up against some sweaty strangers), the lines for the bathroom can take a looong time, and sometimes you see some questionable people here. If you're in a group of friends, however, you don't really have to worry much. WARNING: People steal phones here ALL THE TIME. I've had at least 5 friends have their phones stolen at this club. It's very easy to get your stuff stolen, as everyone's just kind of jammed up together all the time. Keep your valuables close. Bootie only happens on Saturday nights, so make sure to mark that date for next weekend! read more

"HOLY CRAP!!!" ...is what I was literally shouting as I implored all of my best drunken dance moves on the floor of DNA lounge this Saturday night- not because the music was crap by any means but because I was so damn impressed by the musical variety I heard and skill I witnessed that night over and over again with each transition. Ever since Mash-Ups became popular in the 00's through artists such as Girl Talk and DJ Earworm, I have been obsessed. Hungry for more, I tried to make a couple of my own (http://www.mixcrate.com/supadude/june2011-mix-59634) and for years couldn't find a good source of quality mash-up content until I experienced Bootie! The mash-ups here along with the free CD giveaways and cool acts (crazy contortionist chick was incredible) have restored my faith in the mash-up genre and left me in really good spirits. Arghhhh Matey, why don't you spare me some bootieeee!? Lol..I've finally experienced the infamous Bootie SF last Saturday night when I finally had a Saturday night off from work. My friend asked me what I wanted to do with my night off. I replied "Dance the night away, of course!" So we met up there at 9:30pm to snag the $10 cover charge before 10pm. Of course since it was still early, there was barely anyone there at the venue yet. But later on the night, the place got so packed! The mashups were interesting, but it's definitely not really quite my cup of tea. There's definitely of variety of people in the club. Thank goodness for diversity! I'm not really a fan of clubs that always have the majority of Asians. Lol.. There was a drag show which would be my first time to see one. It was pretty amusing & seemed like the "ladies" do have a splendid time on stage. Oh wait..I have seen a drag show before at AsiaSF. Lol fun time. Overall, I had a pretty good time here. I had the time of my life .... literally. Considering the several night outs I had in my 20's and 30's , this really was one of the best nights out in my lifetime and I was sober . I took my friend here for her 41st birthday , considering our awful experience at Opal in Mountain View (what was I thinking?) , I wanted to take her to a good SF night club with good music since she flew here all the way from Portland , OR. We got here at 10pm and stayed there till close . The crowd was good and not so overly crowded that we were rubbing up against people we didn't want to .. lol . Not to mention, the music wasn't so loud my ears were ringing after 5 minutes . Parking was only like a block away , not bad at all. I will be back for sure cause there's good times to be had here. I don't usually review non-food places on Yelp, but after spending yet another amazing Saturday night dancing away the hours at Bootie last weekend, I figured it was time I come on here and add my 2 cents. Bootie is the party that takes place at DNA Lounge every Saturday night. Sometimes there's a theme so definitely check on the website in advance to see what the theme is. You can buy tickets in advance for $15 + processing fee, but I usually just pay the $20 cover when I arrive. They've started taking credit cards for cover recently with a $2 fee, so if you're strapped for cash, you can pay $22 on your credit card for cover. The venue has two levels with multiple dance floors. There's the main dance floor where they play all sorts of amazing mashups, and on the second level there's an EDM room, a hip hop room, and a 3rd room that I've never quite figured out. Honestly, I don't usually go into the other rooms because I have such a blast on the main dance floor I don't want to go anywhere else. The mashups are all over the place but more often than not focus on current top 40s songs. To give you an idea, this past weekend in addition to current top 40s they also mashed up some oldies, two BSB songs, a Britney song, Lion King, Skrillex, and Marshmello (my favorite DJ). Bars are sprinkled very liberally throughout the entire venue and it's usually not too hard to get a drink. The bars used to be cash only, but on my last visit this past weekend, they let us pay with card. Score!! Coat check is $3 and is located on the upper level on the left side. After you enter, go up the stairs to the left of the stage and you'll pass it on your right side right before you get to the EDM room. Usually there's some kind of drag show from 11-12 and the mashups start after midnight, so I always try to get there around 12/12:30. Bars close at 2 but they keep on playing music until at least 2:30, which is the latest I've stayed. Bootie is hands down my favorite spot to go dancing in the city and it's almost always never failed to disappoint, except for one horrifically crowded Taylor vs Britney night which was a huge mistake, but let's not go there... read more

Behold this cautionary tale of passion, intrigue, and loss at Bootie SF. (Imagine Moulin Rouge meets Taken - sub Liam Neeson's abducted daughter with an iPhone 6s Gold.) Despite having previously skimmed the warning reviews about rampant phone pick pocketing at Bootie SF, I arrived at the club thinking, "I AM LEGEND. No way someone can steal from me and my cross-body purse with my quick ninja reflexes." That was the 4 whiskey shots talking. The night began innocuously enough with Bootie's famous acts of choreographed dancers shaking their booties, boobies, and nipple tassels. My jaw dropped in awe at how tastefully done everything was. Then came the amazing DJ who pumped up the crowd as the dance floors filled up. All night long I was in rhythmic bliss as I naively showed off my best dance moves ranging from Carlton's 2 step to many creative interpretations of the Running Man. If this was a movie, the dance music would've come to a dramatic screeching halt as I reached into my purse only to find my wallet rolling around in all that extra phone space. If this was a Tarantino Movie, my ninja reflexes would've silently broken all 10 fingers of the thief the moment he reached into my purse. But seeing that this was neither a normal movie or a Tarantino masterpiece, the Kesha Mashups played on and only the world's smallest violin played for me. To this day I still wonder if the thief left my wallet out of pity - so I could have some way of paying for a cab ride home or for the consolation street dog that whispered my name outside of DNA lounge that night. Or perhaps he had to prioritize pocket space for all the other phones he stole that night. Either way, Bootie was a fantastic night but they really need to not let their theme be taken so literally and be more zealous at keeping these phone pirates at bay. YASSS!! This place is so awesome. Normally I don't enjoy the whole clubbing experience. I'm just "too old for this sht". However, Bootie is a pretty special place. Got here before 10pm because cover was only $10 before 10pm and it's $20 afterwards. FYI, there was no covering outside so if it rains you're out of luck if you have to wait outside. The coat check was on the 2nd floor and it was $3. Right away I noticed that the people here were pretty friendly. There's a lot of love on the main floor and openness. I liked the "bootie" music they were playing and the crowd in general was very nice. No pretentious skanks stepping on your toes with their 9 inch heels. Just people who accept you for who you are and dance with you if you just wanna dance. Around 11pm or so they stopped the music and we got a mini drag burlesque show. Awesome! Upstairs they have several rooms - I don't know how many - with different type of music. We hung out upstairs for the rest of the night. The music was more "straight" but that also entailed stalker pervs who grab at you. My only issues with this place is that the bar doesn't give you water. You have to pay like $4 for bottled water. They do have water fountains but I don't trust that. There were only 2 bathrooms that I know of. You should go early in the night because towards the end they run out of toilet paper and the seat covers. Of course there's also puke all over the bathroom too. I wish they would have someone restock and clean the bathroom at least once halfway through the night. Overall, this has been my favorite place I've clubbed at in SF. read more

For my 400th review... drumroll please... ... In a word, no. I have discovered I DESPISE mashups. I kept hearing all these awesome songs I loved, only to have them paired with something I hated or cut off right as it got to the best part. The music upstairs was pretty good, with a better D.J. but I was there for a birthday bash and the b-day girl liked the downstairs. Which meant we got to catch the ... I dunno... burlesque show? The show was extremely good for the self esteem body wise but besides a couple acts (The girl who danced with a partner to Lola and the "Sparkly devil") it really wasn't well done. I know... nakedness... music... whats not to love? But it was really awkward looking, especially the first girl who looked about 12. I just kept comparing it to Deathguild, where people are polite and there aren't any drunk blonde chicks who can't dance seizuring behind you to get some frat boys attention. Bootie is the quintessential SF experience. Apparently there's a Bootie in many major cities across the world, but I don't see how any of those cities could embody the spirit of Bootie as well as SF does. Only in this city can such a diverse weird awesome group of people with different music tastes come together and rage hard together. I even partied with people on Second Life once when our party was streamed to Second Life and the dance party in Second Life was streamed onto the Bootie wall. Quirky but awesome . Every Saturday, DNA Lounge turns into Bootie. A club of mashups and unique themes. I've seen burlesque dancers, metal singers, and everything in between. There's four different dance rooms and they will all be hot and sweaty. People will approach you looking for drugs. Others will approach you just for a good conversation. Just go with the flow and have a good time. Grab yourself a dirty dog when you leave. read more

Do you like to whip your hair back and forth? Are you down to boogie all night long to pop remixes? Are you ready to have a burrito in the middle of the night while you're STILL IN DA CLUB? Do you get the sudden urge to ever wear a cape to the club? then... Bootie is for you! I just love bootie enough to pay cover ($15-20) each time I'm there and know I'm guaranteed a good night. You get a really interesting crowd that speaks to the diversity of SF, but it all melds together well in the club. You get a dude in a cape in a full leather suit, with a girl dressed like she's a sorostitute and they're both having a great time in the club. You get one large dance floor on the first floor with two bars and then when you go upstairs you hit the little burito restaurant and then another dance room with another bar. The line can often go around the corner, but really don't be alarmed - they move through it and generally everyone pays cover, so you don't have to stress about making it in here by a certain time. Bootie SF is like going clubbing in a radio. Don't like the music in one room? Just go to the next room! Granted, some of the rooms are much bigger than others. There are four rooms. I'm not sure if the themes change but when I went there were two EDMish rooms, the main room, and a hip hop room. The hip hop room was hit or miss. Sometimes it was awesome for bumping and grinding, and sometimes they played hardcore gangster rap. But if that happens go to the next room! The main stage had a really outrageous drag show! Cover is $10 before 10pm. I don't know how much it is after, but I actually liked getting there early. That way it's easier to explore the venue before it actually gets cracking. The bars are cash only. I hate that! They have ATMs but the service fee is $3.50. The dress code was nonexistent. You could really wear whatever you want. This place actually felt like a high-production house party. It may not have been fancy but I had a lot of fun. There are definitely worse things you can do on a Saturday night. read more

*NOTE: BOOTIE SF IS DIFFERENT FROM DNA LOUNGE. THE LATTER IS THE VENUE WHERE THE EVENT, BOOTIE SF, TAKES PLACE, AND IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK You know you are from SF when you take your out-of-town friends to Bootie and when they ask beforehand what kind of club is it, you say to them, "it's not a club, it's an experience." Bootie SF at DNA... is one of the most interesting clubs I have ever been to in my life...mostly because of the venue and patrons there. Most people who go there for the first time consider it to be a raunchy gay club, which it's not (raunchy - yes, gay club - no). Most people who go there don't give a flying fuck what anybody else thinks about their attire, actions, or dancing. Most of my weirdest nights are from bootie now that I think about it... Bootie is not necessarily my go-to place because of the classlessness (just being honest here!) I'm also not the biggest fan of mashups and bootlegs. However, the appeal of this place for me is definitely the multiple dance rooms available to you. I'm not always a fan of the bands that sometimes play in the main room so it's nice to have other options. While they don't always play what I like, I like that each dance room focuses on a different genre. I also like the fact that their drinks are SUPER strong... seriously. You will be fine after two drinks, three drinks MAX for the rest of the night. Lastly, they are open till 3:30 AM (DNA Lounge is open technically till 5:00 AM, but Bootie stops at 3:30 AM), which isn't too shabby and is a pretty big sell for me in San Francisco. I deducted a star because it's cash only; that's a pet peeve of mine that I have mentioned in previous reviews: in this era of new technology that we live in, you should not be a cash only venue. I sometimes overlook this aspect if the cover and/or drinks are cheap. They are not... cover is $15 and well drinks are $9+. They do have ATMs but I'm not happy paying the withdrawal fee. My friend invited me out to Bootie for about the 10th time, and I finally said yes. I don't usually like going anywhere that involves crowds or dancing, but I actually enjoyed my experience here. I was warned that there's a $10 cover before 10pm and $20 cover after that. Seems about right for any dance club. My favorite part was the variety of music. If I didn't like the music in one room, I could just mosey into another one. There was a zombie high school prom theme on the night that we went, which made an interesting show on the main stage. Everyone seemed to be here for a good time and NOT make this into the usual trashy nightclub. Our group of friends ended up on the main dance floor by the end of the evening, where the DJ was mashing up different songs. The first few songs were awesome, then the mixes got weird, so I went home. Overall I'll admit that I had fun and would actually come back to check out more of the DJs and hang out with friends! read more

OK everyone, this place is the f*cking bomb. Don't be afraid of the $20 cover(it's $10 before 10pm) because it is SO WORTH IT. I've been to plenty of clubs in other cities and they pale in comparison. The place is open way past 3am too, so much dancing to be had! I hear it can get very crowded but when we went for my friend's birthday on a Saturday night, it wasn't too bad; there was enough space for about 10 of us to dance in a circle on the stage. They've got live DJs and the environment is casual. We started the night with a drag show, those men were so fabulous and beautiful, I was extremely jealous. The music was on point, hip hop mash-ups like no other! There are at least 3 or 4 dance floors if you're not diggin' the music (with techno, hip hop, electric, top40) but the main dance floor with the stage is the best place to be! They also throw out CDs of the mash ups and I was able to snag one, hehe. Since we went on drag night, there were a bunch of beautiful half naked men dancing on the stage, which reminded me so much of Magic Mike. They were lovely to look at and dance with! The bathrooms are great and located near every dance floor, with a water fountain next to them (hallelujah, no more standing at the bar getting dirty looks from the bar tender when you just need to quench that thirst). Bootie is just good ol' get down and dirty fun! It's not your typical bourgeois club scene. Admissions are $6 before 10 PM and $12 after 10 PM where you get an awesome "Lesbian Money" stamp on your wrist. (What does that mean? I have no idea.) I don't really find myself standing in line forever in the cold. Not to say there's no line, because you'd have to wait, it's just not like the other clubs. The goers of Bootie are a diverse group, I see the crowds of people from different age groups. The music is awesome, it's not quite your typical hip hop get down on the floor and shake your ass type of music but really creative mix ups like they'd somehow incorporate "While Your Guitar Gently Weeps" into a danceable song. The alcohol is pretty strong here, which is a good thing. I usually get the Red Bull Vodka (I can't remember how much it costs, oops! I wonder why.) 10:30 is when Smash Up Derby does their live performance. It's always fun to see live performances, because the band performs with a lot of energy and they really get the crowd into it by playing jams that everyone can sing to. It's like drunken karaoke and dancing all in one. What isn't there to like? By the way, the lead singer has a rockin ass. Bottom line: Bootie is a place to get your dance and your drink on without having to pay an arm and a leg. read more

I was sketched out at first while waiting in line, an overweight asian cross dresser with glitter everywhere and rollerblades walked in. Not really my scene but I went based off the music recommendation. $12 cover at the door and a short wait. The house band was actually really awesome, they played covers but in mashup form which I have not seen before. They had the crowd hyped up and I kind of just wished they played the rest of the night. The DJs that came on after the house band were really good. I'm used to sloppy macbook DJs at bars and clubs that can't mix and sloppily throw acapellas over instrumentals, this was not the case here. The djs had great and creative mixes and kept the crowd going. The drinks were pretty cheap, most mixed drinks or straight drinks were $8 each and pretty strong. The downside was the breaks during the dj set was the fat asian tranny rollerblading around on stage which kind of ruined the mood. It was funny at first then just got disturbing. Well worth the $20 cover. Why? Because it's a guaranteed good time. Unlike the uncertainties that come along with other places (e.g. I wonder if the music will be good, what's the energy and crowd going to be like, etc.), Bootie SF is consistently fun. So what's Bootie SF like? Firstly, I'd like to stress that it's a come-one-come-all type of place, which, in my opinion, is a big part of the appeal. Nobody (e.g. bouncer or promoter) handpicks who gets in and who doesn't. Rather, Bootie SF accepts and appeals to a wide variety of people, and the diversity of the crowd is part of what makes it so fun and enjoyable. Secondly, the venue is quite big. On any given Saturday night, Bootie SF attracts several hundred people. The scene is basically a mosh-pit of hundreds of people (on different levels of DNA lounge), dancing and getting down. Thirdly, mashups are very popular with Bootie SF. Check online to see what specifically is being mashed up on a given Saturday. No joke, I've heard mashups that integrate Mozart and Britney Spears at this place. Lastly, on some Saturdays, Bootie SF chooses to have a midnight show that lasts for half an hour or so. Usually the show consists of dancers coming out on the higher level of DNA lounge and performing to various songs. I have done it all, from clubbing in Shanghai before I was 21 every weekend while I was studying abroad to Vegas several times a month to SF/SJ/anywhere... then I grew older and boring... and thought my clubbing days were over... until I met Bootie. Came here for a friend's birthday and I was MIND BLOWN at how crackin' it was. And the great thing was that I came straight after a Warriors game in my jeans, tank, and boots! People here dress up or down, base on your preference, but honestly, nobody gives a BEEP what you're wearing. NO BAY ASIANS! The creepy guys and douches were less apparent than other clubs though they do exist... but I had NO problems that night! People were SO friendly and fun. We all just wanna DANCE! As for the music, WHY DOES IT SOUND SO GOOD? The beats... the songs mesh very well together... variety music from top 40's to old school to house... DA FUQ?! AND there's a performance in the middle of the night! I seriously felt like I was 20 again with so much energy and joy. Ahh the good ole days. Only downside, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5, is the cash only bar and $15 cover after 10:30pm (?). A bit pricey but that won't keep me from coming back here! The crowd is festive and diverse with surprisingly few thirsty individuals to fend off my friends. As the night goes on and your drink tally racks up, there are opportunities for you to get up and show your moves on stage. OH, they have PIZZA a mere 10 feet from the dance floor entrance; talk about knowing your demographics. Kudos, DNA Lounge. First, let me start off by saying I wasn't expecting the pirate theme at all, but I get it. Pirate bootie (joke's on me I guess). Bootie is one of those clubs where its damn near mando (mandatory) you're on the same level as everyone else in there... or else you're in for a long night. But if you're on level 10, looking to fist pump and grind the night away, this is the club for you! The main dance floor predominately plays Mash-ups and EDM all night. The Dj threw in a couple of hip hop hits but not many. This is where the majority of the people party at. Dance floor was full till about 3am. The 2nd dance floor upstairs was more my speed. Not as crowded as the main dance floor and played a better mix of music. They played a good mix of hip hop, top 40, and some dancehall. I went with a pretty big birthday group and everyone found something they could enjoy. We had a table away from the madness, which is always a good idea. Bottle service wasn't too expensive and our server checked on us frequently. All that being said, I had a great time and would definitely go back. My advice to the reviewers out there would be: Watch out for Drunk Frat bro's, and come ready to rage. read more

Went for the first time last weekend (Saturday BOOTIE, Beach Theme) with my girlfriend, just the two of us, & did the $10 before 10pm admission. It was kinda empty at first so we just hung out at the connected pizza joint next door (seriously best idea EVER, DNA!) & reveled at everything and everyone. People came in in all sorts of attire so I appreciated that there was no set dress code so you don't feel lame or pressured if everyone else is in heels or decked out and you're just in jeans. Big main stage is mashups/drag show(!), then 3 other rooms up top playing hip hop/rap, EDM/electro, and Top Hits. So you won't get bored & you can interchange between moods. And it's soundproof. So cool. We had a great time!! There's only one stall per bathroom but I discovered there's 2 upstairs, & 1 by the pizza place downstairs. It wasn't too long of a wait so no big deal. Also, TIP, Cash only place - The pizzas were tasty by the slice, & it's SF so I'm not gonna complain about the price. Drinks ranged from $9-up, typical. Strong. The bartenders were nice. I got pretty wasted quick but danced it away. Everyone was friendly and fun. If you get too drunk and need to sober up there's chairs/couches you can sit along the whole area to the wall side. They charge $4 for bottled water though, so I recommend just drinking from the water fountain. Also, they have a coat check upstairs which was really convenient, but it's $3/item. Overall though, it was an amazing first time. No one was sleazy or rude and I didn't feel like it was TOO crowded. People were having fun. PS - Expect to sweat. read more

I used to live "down the road" in Sacramento, but whenever I could take the trains to SF, Bootie would be THE place for me! I first attended back in 2007 when I could, and would usually be one of the first 10-20 in line, and there to close the night out. If you looking for VIP Bottle service, snooty attitudes and people-watching, your best bet is another club. Bootie is purely for those who live great mash-ups, great drinks - including absinthe! - and pure unadulterated fun! Plus, the free CD's for the first amount of people doesn't hurt, neither! There's a reason why at 9pm and after, that there's such a long line to get in; it's the best party SF has to offer! That, and it's won numerous awards in SF Weekly for Best Party Night, Best Club, along others.. One night at Bootie must be on your bucket list!! Or a few more.. Hell, go weekly!! read more

The venue is not too big but it's not small. There is an open space in front of the stage that should give you room to dance with your friends unless you go on a Saturday night at 12:30AM. If you go too early, it'll be really empty and you'll probably stand there looking like an idiot. By too early I mean 10pm. There is usually no line at 10pm, so don't bother buying your entry fee early online. I went during a burlesque night and it was okay. There is also an upstairs area where you can look down on to the dance floor. Bar upstairs and downstairs. Music was at most mediocre and there were just a couple of good songs - the DJ would mix 2 songs at a time, but some didn't go well together. Would I go back again? Maybe. But wouldn't go often because I'd rather not pay a cover fee. read more

A couple friends came up to visit and they wanted to go out and have fun. It was my first time going to Bootie after hearing so much about it from my other friends. It was like a Christmas burlesque themed night with burlesque dancers dancing to Christmas song remixes. It was pretty amazing and I think my friends were v impressed! I like the variety of music they provide with the main floor, hip hop room, and probably another which I don't remember. Also, we paid for cover online and it was like only like $15 each! So much better than the horrible $30 some other clubs charge when some mediocre electronic dj comes in, even though you only want to go to the hip hop room. I was invited twice to Bootie SF by my dashing handsome date. STOKED to find out it was a mash-up club featuring smash hits and eclectic music tastes in different theme rooms. Variety is my middle name. It's $20 after 10PM for both sexes and you can pay cash or card ($2 transaction fee). Drink bars inside are cash only, and there's a $3 coat check on the second floor. With deets out of the way, my epiphanic experience...stepping inside Bootie SF (DNA Lounge) was amazing! Bright strobing lights, blaring music, visually stimulating screens, sweat gleaming off people left and right... Right away you see the main stage/floor where everyone is jamming out to the top hit mash-ups. With stairs spiraling down both sides, you're led to another floor with 2 - 3 rooms with other DJs spinning house, EDM, etc. Apparently, there's an infamous Zebra room that has closed twice since I've visited...I seriously considered its existence but was reassured by my date I was just a stroke of bad luck...twice haha The boys here are slightly aggressive creepy but just keep a firm stance and huddle in your group.
