We came here while in Oxford visiting our daughter. We thought it might be fun to try and we love trying new BBQ spots around the country. The atmosphere is super casual and includes an astroturfed courtyard with bags, a play area and lots of picknoc tables. The indoor parts (there are two buildings each with a bar) has indoor seating. Super cute spaces - industrial/reclaimed wood/rustic feel. The BBQ was good, but it was cold. The cobblers were okay - but clearly made with canned fruit. We weren't impressed with the sides, either - maybe better if they were hotter. The concept is amazing, the execution is just a little off. There are no bottles of sauces at the table - since we hadn't been here before one went back to get it and then we realized we had to walk all the way back to get it. The meats were out out on the counter (it's more of a cafeteria style set up where you order and you watch them serve it up). The side dishes were in steamers and a small (even if it was a cornbread muffin) was $5. The main BBQ plates were $19-26 and sandwiches were $10-18. I think some ingenuity about either educating customers better or adding some stations for silverware, sauces and drinks in both buildings would help, for sure. What we can say is the BBQ was sooooo tasty and clearly made with care. read more

Really isn't that good .. we had the sausage which had decent flavor but tasted like it had been boiled and then put on the grill .. the pork ribs were fall off the bone , but were sweet and had a lot of gristle and fat .. the sides were nothing to write home about .. it was like out of a can ... in all fairness , it's a Texas Barbeque establishment which means they should do a pretty good brisket , however that was the one thing we did not try..‍ read more

Was born in Texas, went back to Texas between 1995 and 2003. Had good BBQ. Tried Booth's early June. The gentleman cooking the BBQ asked whether we wanted Lean Brisket or not. I like lean so i picked that. Bought 3 pounds of Brisket. It was very fatty and I didn't like it. Two weeks later ordered a full brisket 8-10 pounds from a restaurant in Houston, TX. The mail order brisket was at least 20 times better than what I got at Booths. I wanted Booth's BBQ Brisket to be good but it was not. read more

Nice to have good Texas style barbecue in Oxford. The wet brisket is great. My favorite is the jalapeño cheddar sausages, made in house with rib trimmings! The dessert is fantastic. Good staff. The outdoor eating area is perfect for kids. Plenty of space to run and play. read more

The website says that Josh Booth is a pit master in Texas. Texas must be embarrassed. I ordered the brisket. I normally do not use sauce I just enjoy the flavor. The brisket was so unflavored that I walked to the end of the bar to get sauce. I got potato salad for a side. Maybe it's a Mississippi thing but potato salad is not cold smashed potato's. The price was reasonable but I got what I paid for. read more

Tried this for the first time since they opened. I ordered a brisket sandwich. We were served quickly and the temperature of the food was good. I was expecting sliced brisket, but it was chopped. The amount of meat was hearty, but it was way too salty to the point of being almost inedible. The Mac and cheese as a side saved the day. Plus, the blackberry cobbler was very good. The atmosphere was excellent and a great place for people with small children. I will definitely give it another try, it might have been a bad day for brisket. read more

Great service. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, and asked if we had ever been. It was our first time, so they walked us through the ordering process and the menu. We got a brisket and pulled pork sandwich, Mac & cheese, Mexican rice, potato salad, pecan and peach cobbler. DELICIOUS!!! The sandwiches were HUGE, sides so good, and dessert was awesome. 3 stars because the menu pricing is very misleading! Plates (a meat and 2 sides) are advertised at one price but the meat is weighed and you are charged by weight! What I thought was going to be a $35.00 meal ended up being $50.00. There is no price breakdown on the receipt and you can't see the weight on the scale. Overall, the meats were delicious. Baked beans and jalapeño Mac were pretty good too. I'll pass on the peach cobbler next time. It's probably cheaper to order your meat by the lb and sides separate. read more

I've had better bbq at a gas station. Read so many good reviews but this was a really big letdown.

First thing is first. This is Texas style barbecue. If you don't know what that means, the staff does a great job of explaining the process, but you definitely want to go in with the appropriate expectations. The pulled pork is stellar. 10/10. The peach cobbler is life changing. 12/10. Very solid Mac and cheese and turkey as well. Brisket was very very salty when I had it but it may vary from batch to batch. They've been out of ribs both times I went, which probably means they're really good. The interior is a lovely casual barbecue restaurant. I've been to Terry Blacks in downtown Dallas and honestly head to head, I think I'd pick Booth's for service, vibes, and quality of food. (Not to mention the price at Booth's is much more reasonable) read more

So it's Fourth of July, which means BBQ in my mind as a Memphis native. I had a bad experience when this place was Lamar yard so I've been scared to try it since it became Booths BBQ (I was scared it was just a name change, but the same thing), but I have to say it was fantastic!! I was so pleasantly surprised that it's completely different and so good! The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful, and I loved the cafeteria style ordering station which reminded me of the ones I've been to in Houston. The portions are HUGE! You really get a ton of food for the price. I got a giant pulled pork bbq sandwich with coleslaw (which next time I'm getting as a full side it was so good). The sweet bbq sauce was good, I wish it was a hair sweeter, but for a Texas bbq joint I was a happy camper. I also got a slice of moist brisket and it was very good. I got Mac and cheese and baked beans for the sides and the Mac and cheese was okay, but the baked beans were INCREDIBLE. I love them! I also got the cornbread which was so delicious and some of the best cornbread I've found in Oxford. You can also bring dogs to the yard area, so I definitely see this as a new spot for my pups and I to frequent as it cools down this fall. read more
