The Good: large outdoor area for families and larger gatherings; very clean and well maintained. Not so Much: overall food quality and portions were disappointing; Food and beer prices seem to be geared towards the new Oxford money that's been moving to town; unfriendly service. Happy that we finally checked this place out, but we're probably not going back.

The brisket you could eat without teeth. 10/10 Turkey was the best I ever! 10/10 Mack and cheese pretty bland. Jalapeño Mack had more flavor but I wasn't a huge fan. Green beans were awesome. 10/10 Pulled pork sandwich was a 10/10 To top it off this place is a vibe! Corn hole live music. Multiple bars. I could live here.

The entry area and bar in the first building. This is where you wait in line to order.

We came here while in Oxford visiting our daughter. We thought it might be fun to try and we love trying new BBQ spots around the country. The atmosphere is super casual and includes an astroturfed courtyard with bags, a play area and lots of picknoc tables. The indoor parts (there are two buildings each with a bar) has indoor seating. Super cute spaces - industrial/reclaimed wood/rustic feel. The BBQ was good, but it was cold. The cobblers were okay - but clearly made with canned fruit. We weren't impressed with the sides, either - maybe better if they were hotter. The concept is amazing, the execution is just a little off. There are no bottles of sauces at the table - since we hadn't been here before one went back to get it and then we realized we had to walk all the way back to get it. The meats were out out on the counter (it's more of a cafeteria style set up where you order and you watch them serve it up). The side dishes were in steamers and a small (even if it was a cornbread muffin) was $5. The main BBQ plates were $19-26 and sandwiches were $10-18. I think some ingenuity about either educating customers better or adding some stations for silverware, sauces and drinks in both buildings would help, for sure. What we can say is the BBQ was sooooo tasty and clearly made with care.

Brisket is awesome. The best I've had since moving to this state. Sides are okay. Service was quick and sufficient.

The brisket was very good. I was surprised, good brisket is hard to find in this part of the country.

I've had better bbq at a gas station. Read so many good reviews but this was a really big letdown.

I went to Booth's shortly after it opened & loved it. The staff is friendly & the food delicious. Nice size servings, too! I'll be back.

Stood in line for 20 minutes and got nowhere. It might be good enough to wait an hour but I'll never know.

Heard we had to try Ajax, the diner, not the soap. We stopped in for lunch before heading to Nashville airport to come home. The diner is about what you'd expect inside. Old, kitschy and full of decor. We sat in a booth an were greeted by a waitress promptly for drink orders. Cokes and waters. They deliver the coke in a neat Ajax cup. I ordered the chicken fried steak. Wife ordered the chicken and dumplings and step son ordered catfish. Everything arrived very quickly and everything was hot and southern deliciousness, except the corn bread. The corn bread was dry and not very good at all. Pretty sure it was yesterday's leftover bread or someone needs to pull it 5 minutes sooner from the oven. Unanimous at the table, Everton e had garb corn bread. No big deal. The chicken fried steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Gravy was great and the red beans and rice side was awesome. All great flavors. Wife loved the chicken and dumplings, good flavor and tender chicken. She got a side of sweet potato casserole and loved it. I had a bite and it was delicious for certain. Step son had the fried catfish, he is not a big seafood eater but he absolutely loves the catfish. I had a big piece and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great as well. The staff was outstanding, the service was great and the food was excellent sans the cornbread. Ajax is a neat little diner in the heart of Oxford. It's a little pricey as is everything in this college town, but it was worth the visit.
