sampler of the three whiskeys they offer
    Paul R.

Very nice bar with their own whisky and other distilled bourbons and in house made spirits. Great place to hand out with great bartenders. I tried the sampler platter to get to try some of the different whiskeys.

100% THE place to be. We're from a cowboy town in Central Oregon. We love the history and lore of days gone by, so natch we love Dodge City, Kansas. Tonight we experienced true gracious service, with a sure hand and even firmer grip on this town's legacy. At the counter, drinks muddled and measured, carefully poured and patiently explained, we revelled in our bartender's expansive knowledge of Dodge City. We experienced The Dove, the Red Eye Old Fashioned, and the aged Bourbon flight. All superb. Exquisite execution. Best cocktails ever. Ever. Thank you to the entire staff at Boot Hill Distillery. You're amazing, you're amazing, you're amazing!

Great conversation. Really old fashioned, laid back bar. Bourbon and whiskey were better than average. Yet the drinks were seriously strong. I learned a lot about the owners and family .. all varieties are home grown and family distilled from the wheat to the bottle. My fav were the Red eye and the Straight wheat.

Can't say enough about how good this place is! If you follow my reviews, you know on particular about distillers. This is top notch A1place. Not only is the bar area and bartenders knowledgeable on the drinks but also the history of the building and distilling in general. Our bartend! Arron, was easy to ask questions to and just his experiences on life were a pleasure to have discussed. Had a couple drinks before tour, had a couple more after tour, bought a couple premixed in cans and bought a couple bottles. If I lived here, I would be sitting at the bar everyday!

If you are in the area and would like not only a history lesson but also a sip of some well made spirits this is the place to be. I will hand it to the staff, management, and owners, this is a pretty exceptional bit of history. Seated on the previous site of the Boot Hill cemetery, what was once a schoolhouse, city building, and fire station, is now the home of a distillery who is a farm to glass operation. Make sure to catch a tour and have a cocktail before you head out, it is well worth it!!

    Oldest Cowboy Statue

This brief review is for JUST the statue outside. I'm not much of a drinker, but this statue caught my attention! There is a stark white statue out in front, which is the oldest Cowboy statue. It is simply called, "The Cowboy". A dentist name Oscar Simpson decided to create a cowboy sculpture. He used Dental plaster to make this. His model was Policeman Joe Sughrue, whom he thought looked enough like a cowboy. So, he dipped the fellow completely in the plaster. He was given a straw to breathe through during the casting process. Because of this technique, it looked really lifelike! People loved this statue so much that it was placed in front of the town's City Hall, which has since become Boot Hill Distillery. As part of the dedication of the City Hall in 1929, it was unveiled and the plaque reads, "On the ashes of my campfire, this City is built." In 1932, The Cowboy was was accompanied by a set of yoked steers, also created by Dr. Simpson. In 2015, The Cowboy statue was restored and is now still looking as new as ever when I visited it in Oct. 2018!

    History on site and building

Dodge is known for many things, gunfights, Wyatt Earp, beef, etc.... but it should be also known for this distillery. You walk in and it's very distinct and welcoming. Met Austin the bartender/mixologist and he was very thoughtful and friendly! Had a very detailed history of the bar and so many other interesting facts. I loved the time I spent there and will definitely return. My drink, the White Russian, was utterly perfect and the charcuterie board Austin made was unique and delicious. Included dates, cheese, green tomatoes, pecans, and snack mix. Thank You for the wonderful night!

It has a pretty cool decor themed to Boot Hill of course. I have to say the hamburger was one of the best I have had. Very juicy and fresh and tasty. I got a side of coleslaw to go with the hamburger and it was also great. Service was pretty quick but it was lunch during the day and not too busy.

The advertisement stated for $20 per person one receives a chose of a house salad or Caesar salad, made to your liking - all you can eat - pasta dish, and dessert. We were skeptical at first though found it to be quite delicious. We both chose the Caesar salad, served with yummy rolls. We got in line for the pasta dish. You had three different options for sauces, three different options for noodles (pre-cooked), several options of vegetables, and three options for meat. They cooked it in front of you. I opted for linguine noodles, a small amount of Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and chicken. It was amazing. My husband got the tricolor tortellini noodles, all the veggies, and pesto sauce. He loved it! We got a bottle of wine, which was actually inexpensive compared to other places we go. Jacqueline was a wonderful, cheerful waitress. I will admit, you had to go through a bit of the casino to get there. Smoking is allowed in the casino so we were a bit nervous about the restaurant. We were surprised that you couldn't smell the smoke at all in the restaurant.

The outside of the restaurant is very nice appealing inviting clean. Once I stepped in the door, the hostess was there to greet me. He asked if I wanted to sit in the sporty side or if I wanted to sit in the upscale luxury side. I opted to sit in the upscale dining area as the sporty area was really busy. Both areas looked very clean. Everything looks neat and in place. My server was Daisy. She was really nice. She was kind attentive and did ask if I had any questions and made recommendations. The food was the worst part. Everyone gets complementary bread and butter. The bread on the outside looks like it might've been a little undercooked. It was a very light in color when I cut it open in the middle. It was pure dough. A gentleman had come to my table, and I informed him that the bread was doughy in the middle and requested another loaf of bread. The gentleman came back with bread that was also still very doughy in the middle. He told me he would bake another one, but at this point, I figured it's fine. I don't need the bread. The potato skins were really good. The ranch however, tasted like something sweet was dropped in it like a vinegar et there was something with the ranch. I don't know what was in it, but it tasted it had like a tangy sweet taste. I was not a fan of the ranch dressing. At this point, it made me very nervous to order anything else so I just opted to do dessert as most places can't mess up a dessert. I got the Molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. That as I suspected was very good. Unfortunately, I won't be revisiting this restaurant. They have potential to be a great place, but the food definitely lacks a lot. Cheers!
