As always, the sales are bountiful, but they removed their sale price calculator based on the color of the tag. Found my self hesitant to purchase because I didn't know the actual price unless I asked an employee. There were many putting inventory on the floor, but none greeted me, as they seemed like they were very busy despite only a few other customers. The location was exceptionally clean, with no shoes littering the floor like you'd see in department stores or clearance racks elsewhere. Every shoe had a pair, and different styles had plenty size options. There was only 1 or 2 styles that didn't have my size (7.5w). Each shoe also had multiple colorways, which allows you to choose from a variety of options based on your personal needs. I came in looking for a business casual shoe and unfortunately could not find any that fit my high arches (no fault to DSW). However, the options were plentiful for a standard, basic shoe. For statement pieces and more modern, trendy looks, I'd probably recommend you look somewhere else. But if a basic heel or sneaker is what you need, stop by!

That turned out to be a nightmare, as they give you the runaround filling out forms, taking pics and videos, etc, only to what they said was them wanting to send me some parts so that I would have to work on it myself. I looked at Academy's website after being fed up, and it turns out that their policy says that the store should have returned it. The bottom line is that Academy is selling merchandise for kids that is dangerous and defective, and they know about it. Then they refuse to return it. Stay far away from this company. I'm still dealing with the issues months later, and they could care less.

I was told I could pick them up in 3 days for a charge of about $18. I'm so impressed with the result! The toplifts look and feel sturdy. Even the scraped heels looks better after the damaged areas have been blackened to match the rest of the heels. Many varieties of tennis shoes, a bunch of canvas shoes (where did the Rocket Dogs go???) More women's shoes than men's or children's shoes. Prices range from cheap to overpriced. It's totally one part corporate, crisp, functional retail goods store, and another part taxidermy animals, rides, fudge, and hunting & fishing gear like you'd find at Bass Pro. We took our kids here on a winter break, gray day and it was a lot of fun. First off, there's a mini aquarium when you walk in -- it's nothing to write home about, but it gets the kids attention and they realize right away this is a fun store. From there, you can't miss the gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Gonna be real, it's fun and worth the wait but also a bit nerve wracking. Something is just odd about quietly swaying at the top of a department store quietly for such a long time. My daughter was like, "Dad, I'm scared to look down!" and all I could think was, "so am I, kid, so am I." We both agreed it's pretty fun once it gets going. There's also a little bowling area where you get five frames for a buck, and ditto to a little arcade game area as well. There's toy stores, outdoor goods, quality brands of clothes and outfitting, and really a nice answer to online shopping. In fact, it feels like malls used to feel in the 90's but a modern spin on everything. We did eat here but I'd say skip it. I didn't find anything I wanted and when I went to finish off my kids chicken tenders I was super underwhelmed and ended up pitching them. I will say at this time they carry Sylas & Maddy's ice cream (best IC in the city IMO) so that was a nice surprise treat. What more could you want if out shopping with the kids?! It's a great spot to kill a quiet afternoon.
