If Cavender's had a flagship store just for road trippers, this would be it…read more
Tucked just off the interstate in Sevierville, down the road from Buc-ee's and Crystal Burger, this location is a hidden gem for anyone making their way to the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, or Pigeon Forge. But for me, this wasn't just a pit stop, it was a pilgrimage. Cavender's is my mothership. I'll go out of my way when I'm traveling to pop in, browse the pearl snap shirts, try on a new pair of boots, or check out the big and tall section. And rarely, if ever, do I leave empty handed.
This store was no exception, well stocked, beautifully clean, and staffed by some of the most welcoming folks I've encountered at any western store.
But what truly sets this visit apart, and makes it one of my best Cavender's experiences ever, is the team. We rolled in about an hour and a half before closing and left just a few minutes before they locked the doors. Not once did we feel rushed. The staff actually encouraged us to take our time. They mentioned that it's standard for them to stay a little late if needed because making sure the customer has a great experience comes first. That's the kind of customer service you rarely see anymore, and it deserves to be celebrated.
And now let me give a very loud, well earned shoutout to Cassidy. My wife had been trying on a few items while we were shopping. In the chaos of our road trip and making a quick detour, one of the items she intended to purchase didn't make it into the bag. It got rung up but left behind. We didn't realize it, but they did.
Two days later, I got a call from Cavender's. Cassidy had noticed the item, remembered my wife, pulled the transaction, verified it was paid for, and tracked down my information through my Cavender's account. They didn't have to do that. Most places wouldn't. But Cassidy did, and that attention to detail and care was impressive. When I called to follow up, she confirmed my address and let me know it would be shipped to us directly. That kind of above and beyond effort, the kind that feels more like helping a neighbor than handling a transaction, is exactly what makes this location, and this brand, so special.
Some people might say, "That's just good customer service." I say, "No, that's exceptional customer care." That's Texas born hospitality, proudly delivered in East Tennessee.
So if you're on the way to the Smokies, do yourself a favor and make the turn. Grab your gas and snacks at Buc-ee's or Crystal Burger, then take a few minutes to step into Cavender's. You'll find a great selection, a beautiful view from the parking lot, and a team that genuinely cares.
Cassidy and the crew, thank you. You didn't just earn a sale. You earned lifelong customers.
