So, we're in Toronto, and my son--who never asks for anything food-related--decides he *has* to go here. He's into fruity stuff, and honestly, who can blame the kid? So, off we went. This was about six weeks ago, so I'm a bit late on the review, but here we are.
Let's just say the experience was as forgettable as it gets. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. The staff was friendly, which is always nice, but they apparently have a complicated relationship with air conditioning. It was summertime, and you'd think a place selling smoothies would want to keep things cool, right? But nope--our smoothies started melting before we even had a chance to enjoy them. Smoothies aren't supposed to be soup, last I checked.
Now, I'm sure they have some interesting options on the menu, but what we got was just your average, run-of-the-mill drink. For the price, it wasn't exactly worth it. But hey, this isn't America where we like to load everything up with preservatives and fake stuff. This place is all about the real deal, which might explain why my sodium-nitrate-loving taste buds weren't impressed.
So, all in all, not bad, not great--probably won't be back. But at least my son got his fruity fix, and that's what counts, right? read more
