A bit hard to find in one of the biggest malls in Ontario. I used to frequent square one quite a bit due to the fact that my workplace was right across the street. However, now that I am mostly working and living in the richmond hill/Markham area, it does not make it as convenient for me to shop and look around here. Like most vendors in the mall, I have to say that the booster juice service here is really sub par even with horrible mall standards. The employees look like they hate their jobs (who can blame them?) as they are working on a Sunday and the customers that were right before me did not make their lives any better with their complaints. However, I am of the belief that customer service should not be reliant on the customer behaviour around them and I have to say they really should have no excuse to have such a negative looking mindset. Booster juice has become a place I frequent now and while I love the quality and the product itself, I probably will not be coming again any time soon to this particular booster juice location for my smoothie cravings.

Tried matcha for the second time, and I can confidently say this place won't let you down…read more I ordered the iced banana matcha and it was delicious. The matcha wasn't overpowering, and the banana added the perfect amount of sweetness without taking over the drink. If you stop by around 5 PM, expect a lineup--but honestly, that's usually a sign of how good this place is. Definitely worth the wait!

Tips: - Sign up for rewards…read more - Making a dairy drink non-dairy is quite the chore here. My friend suggested that we come here for a drink. We had grabbed rice dogs from Chung Chun. We needed drinks and a place to sit down. Since Barburu was in Yuan Ming Food Court Centre, it was the perfect venue to sit down and have lunch. I drove us over to the food court entrance. My friend was great guiding me there, as it was my first time. I backed into an available parking spot. He grabbed our box of rice dogs and we headed inside. Barburu is a standalone stall smack in the middle of the food court. We lined up. I loved seeing all the croissants and baked goods. My friend went to order an iced matcha cold foam coconut. It sounded good that I followed suit. I asked the nice female staffer if it could be made without dairy by taking off the cold foam. She said yes. Great! I paid with a credit card. I also signed up for rewards. I tapped my phone. Done! The woman came over to me as we were waiting for our drinks and said that the drink had dairy in it even after taking the cold foam off. Ugh! Her colleague started rattling off drinks that could be made without dairy. She was talking a mile (kilometre ?) a minute that I had to get her to repeat the list. She said that the iced matcha jasmine latte was a safe bet. I went with it. She then came back and said that there was dairy with some other aspect of this drink. I nearly lost it. I am borderline lactose-intolerant. If I had brought my Lacteeze tablets with me, I would have been fine with my original order with the dairy. I didn't have them with me, so I needed a dairy-free drink. If you are giving me a list of drinks that can be made dairy-free, why come back to me to say that some other element of this drink is dairy-free? We got a drink. My friend and I looked at each other. We didn't know whose drink it was. The first staffer said that it was mine. We waited some more for my friend's drink. We learned that they had only made one. The second woman asked if we had two. We did. I didn't pay $17 for a single drink. They made our pending iced matcha cold foam coconut. They forgot the cold foam. Double ugh! Despite the messed up order and the painful process to get a drink made dairy-free for me, we enjoyed our drinks. I liked the strong matcha flavour with jasmine tea. It wasn't the drink that I had ordered, but it was yummy. My friend enjoyed his drink despite missing the cold foam. It's good that we are forgiving folks! My friend overheard another customer asking to get less ice in the drink. The staffer said no. Huh? Lots of cafes and bubble tea joints do it. Is it because you weigh your drinks that less ice would mess you up? It's the impression that I get. If you customize a drink, it causes staffers to mess up your order. It happened to me and it affected my friend's drink that had no customizations. I'd like to come back and try a regular drink with my Lacteeze pills. Staffers will have a better chance of not messing it up. Maybe I'm wrong here. If your system can't handle dairy, you may want to avoid this place. Deviating from the norm and accommodating your dairy-free needs seems way too difficult and complicated here. I'd come back to try a baked good or more. I will admit that my first experience here wasn't a pleasant, smooth one. (435)
