At this point it's highly likely that you're familiar with the cold pressed juice craze. My husband…read moreand I refer to this as "ten dollar juice" because you'll be paying at least that much per bottle. It's delicious but certainly not economical. I noticed that blogTO named Juice Box the #1 Best Juice Bar in the city and was immediately curious. You'll find them in the heart of The Village (Church and Wellesley), surrounded by beautifully proud rainbow banners. Appropriately named, Juice Box is about the size of one. This teeny-tiny literal hole in the wall features just enough space to walk in and then rotate yourself to leave - juice in hand. It's quite perfect and adorable, actually. The storefront is bright, albeit small, and the inside continues with this theme. The walls are painted bright orange and the entire shop feels like a fruit stand, with stacks of bananas, boxes of oranges, and baskets of apples right in the entryway. It's the freshest, liveliest hole-in-the-wall that you've ever seen! I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the two staff members (presumably also the owners) were incredibly friendly and cheerful. They were juicin' up a storm and seemed to be loving the juice life! There is a chalkboard menu on the wall and it contains just enough choice to please everyone. You'll find specially-crafted vegetable juices, fruit juices, protein shakes, and smoothies. Of course they're doing shots of things like wheat grass, spirulina, and ginseng as well. It should be noted that Juice Box only accepts cash, so come prepared. I was interested in trying a healthy vegetable blend and loved the sounds of their #1 juice right away: Body Cleanser (Carrot, celery, cucumber, parsley, beet, spinach - $5.00 for 16oz). Once ordered, a staff member whipped up my juice in record time, tossing vegetables into their heavy-duty juicer. It might not be as refined of an experience as the places offering a jewel box of juice-filled glass bottles, but this place feels far less pretentious. I loved the down to Earth nature of it all. And did you catch the price?! There is no competition whatsoever - Juice Box is serving up fresh squeezed juice at a fraction of the cost everywhere else. Any of their vegetable and fruit juice mixes are $4 for 12oz, $5 for 16oz and $6 for 20oz. These prices simply cannot be beaten. I loved my juice!! It was everything that I had hoped it would be. Each vegetable element came through in the flavour beautifully, with carrot at the helm. I enjoy beet in my juices quite a lot and loved the addition of it here and the earthiness that it brought to my cup. The quality was very good, with no fibrous chunks floating around or anything like that. This juice really did feel like it was giving me life. They also make a bunch of other really great sounding juice blends, such as; Cholesterol Reducer, Energizer, and Cold/Flu Fighter. I like that they've got different choices for whatever you feel like you might need for your body. Juice Box is definitely worth a visit. It's such a great neighbourhood spot and their prices are much lower than you'll find elsewhere. This fresh and happy spot will make you feel fresh and happy too!

For the longest time, I had no idea what this place was called - my colleagues and I would fondly…read morerefer to it as "that random juice bar by King Station." This unassuming, plain, often-overlooked space doesn't have the sleek, modern look so many Financial District storefronts have. Instead, it gets down to business - whipping up fresh juices and smoothies. Note that this place doesn't really have large signage (or any major signage, really) so people don't usually know what it's actually called. Look for it right beside Mos Mos coffee, right across from Bite Bar, and just steps away from the Commerce Court food court. I've had a variety of their vegetable juices whenever the need to be healthy strikes me (which isn't often, and probably should occur more than it actually does!). The Fresh V8 is super gingery but delicious. I've also had the Stress Reliever (because, sometimes you need that!), the Flu Fighter, and the Eye Opener. All of it was very fresh and healthy-tasting - but not to the point that it tastes so healthy it ends up tasting like grass. It was whipped together just right and ends up being so delicious and refreshing. This place doesn't have fancy contraptions or boast the latest and greatest technology - but they do fresh and delicious just right, so if you're ever in the Financial District and craving a cheap but healthy option, consider this spot! Also, note: cash or debit only.

They also have smoothies and several non-espresso drinks available as well. The interior of the shop is simple and there are several tables inside the restaurant if you would like to dine in (instead of getting take out). I stopped by Green&Grains on a Tues around lunch time. I believe the shop is run by a mom and daughter duo. There were two customers ahead of me where I waited a few min before the staff took my order. I originally ordered the miso salmon bowl but was told by staff that I would have to wait 15 min as they had to cook more salmon. I then just opted for a GG Caesar salad (spinach, romaine, cherry tomatoes, crispy onions, chimichurri chicken, parmesan, and chipotle Caesar dressing). I was asked to take a seat and my food came at a reasonable time. In regards to the salad, I found the portion to be a bit small (considering the salad (with tax) came up to about $14). I enjoyed the dressing, crispy onions, and the parmesan cheese. However, the chicken was dry and I didn't taste any chimichurri on it. Overall, the salad was tasty but nothing worth praising about. Overall, the soups sound great and I hope to return to try the miso salmon bowl that I originally had ordered. Great to see a healthier option in the Bathurst/Dundas area!

I pass by it regularly to get to Shoppers Drug Mart, No Frills, McDonald's, or Felix and Norton's. I was in this plaza a couple of weeks ago and decided to grab a drink. The oranges 'n' cream smoothie caught my attention. It comes with vanilla oat beverage and vanilla yogurt. I walked in and was greeted by a cheerful woman. I ordered this smoothie and asked that the yogurt be omitted. Done! I signed up for Booster Juice rewards and scanned my barcode. It was easy. I waited patiently for my drink. The man behind the counter took no time to whip it up. He was equally as friendly as his colleague. I thanked both of them and walked out the door with my drink. The smoothie was fantastic. I had an orange cream drink years ago at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival I loved it so much that I had three of them during a visit. I have not had anything with a strong orange taste that was creamy until now. I have found the same orange-vanilla flavour combination that screams creamsicle here. I was so happy to get a non-dairy version with all that flavour. I hope that this drink doesn't come off the menu. I love it so much. I need to get another one fast. I'm drooling thinking about how yummy it was. There is plenty of parking at this plaza. I parked steps away from the entrance on a Saturday afternoon. I'll be back soon. (454)

Boy, has Presotea outdone themselves in the recent years…read more When I first tried Presotea two or three years ago, it didn't stand out to me among many of its competitors around this neighbourhood. But now, I am pleasantly surprised to find Presotea my favourite milk tea/ bubble tea place in Toronto, mainly because of their amazing new menus. The game changer was the Four Seasons Milk Tea. It was unlike any milk tea I've tasted. Faintly sweet, amazingly fragrant, and heavenly creamy. I can't go back to the normal milk tea after this. The topping is jelly boba, so good as well. Chewy, fruity, and not overhwhelmingly sweet. I ordered this at 50% sweet the second time, but it didn't taste sweet enough so I will keep ordering this tea at normal sugar. For reference, I usually order 25 to 30% sugar at other locations, but the Four Seasons Milk Tea at full sugar was really pleasant for me. Today I was going back for the four seasons milk tea, but they seemed to have a new Salted Foam Genmaicha Milk Tea. I felt adventurous and went for that, and I am so happy with my choice. Upon my first sip, my mouth was filled with the wholesome fragrance of Genmaicha (roasted rice tea) and it tasted so legit!! The fragrance is different from the Four Seasons and Earl Grey that it's more wheaty and wholebodied. The fragrance of the roasted grains and the creaminess of the milk was like heaven in my mouth. I ordered at 100% sugar, and next time I feel like I would enjoy 80% sweetness (I only like faintly sweet), but I think if you generally enjoy sweet drinks, you should go for 100. At 100%, it was not overwhelmingly sweet or anything, but slightly sweeter than Four Seasons. The foam was a little bit too salty though. They have a deal for 2 teas for 8.99 right now with four flavours, and one of them is Genmaicha milk tea with white tapioca. I will definitely try that out! The only fault is they open from 12 pm on weekends.... I want to have them for breakfast lol. Also, I feel like it's pricier than competitors, but their tea is fragrant and flavourful. Also their regular size is HUGE it's like a large at other locations, so price makes sense. Other reviews mention this place is sweeter than other bubble tea places but I think it's the opposite... I order 25 to 30% sugar at other locations but this place I'm ordering normal sugar. Guess depends on your teas. Other drinks I tried before I met my soulmateas (the two above): Earl grey and panda milk tea - it's alright, but didn't stand out. The regular tapioca and grass jelly can't compare to my other favorites in town.
