Eric Boos cut down two dead trees on our property in Monument and broke our back yard fence on the second tree. He said he'd be back on the weekend to fix it. Two months later and many communications later, including threats to go to the BBB it was supposed to be taken care of today. No show. I would not use this service if I were looking for tree cutting. I will still be going to BBB and consider small claims court to get this matter taken care of. Does he really want to take the time and effort either of these efforts would require? read more

Surprised by the reviews below. Our experience was nothing short of perfect. Butch was a complete professional and his team was fantastic. We had a large area that had not been maintained in over five years. Drew and team executed exactly what we wanted took care of plants and ground cover. This is a very unethical business that hides when there is a problem with their work. They have caller id so they know if they want to answer the phone. The owner even came to pick up a check from my ignorant neighbor while I was home and was so unethical that he could not even come and talk to us about the problem. They were contracted by my neighbor to trim the tree at the property line. They trespassed on my property and cut my tree to the trunk 20 feet up on one side. Now my very large blue spruce that has protected my property looks absolutely horrid. I now have to file charges on Boos and Sons for trespassing and destruction of property. Run away as fast as you can from unethically run businesses like this one!!! read more

I got an insert in the mail for this company, advertising a veteran owned small business and military discount, and I went with them because I prefer to support local veteran businesses. For $450 and the size of the tree, I thought I was getting tree and stump removal. The job was done while I was at work, and there was no stump removal. The tree was not a large tree, and I was told I was receiving the military discount. After doing a little price comparison, I found some companies that would have done this for much cheaper. I gave 2 stars because the job did get done, but I'm not very satisfied with the service or the price, and I'm not at all convinced there was any type of "military discount". I will 1000% use someone else for future jobs. Update: Im moving the rating to 1 star. My neighbors told me this company took up a lot of street space, and they did not clean up the area after the job. Additionally, it's only been a couple weeks, and stuff is growing back. Finally, one of my neighbors had approached the company while they were at my house to ask on pricing, they were quoted the same price for a same sized tree. They are not military, so no military discount was given to me, even though I specifically asked about it, was in uniform when I met the company, and the owner called me 'Troop' instead of by name. If there was 1/2 star or 1/8, that's what I would give. He lies and deceives. He contracted an 'unexperienced' worker to build a pergola for me and it was the most horrific work ever!!!!! lied about coming to supervise, lied about what a good job it was & blamed everything on covid n not being able to get good material or good workers. I lost quite a bit of $$$. Found out through the City that he didn't pull a permit n wasn't even licensed. Stay away from him!!!!!! read more

Butch came out to bid a couple of jobs for me. Painting the exterior of my house and landscaping the front and backyard. He showed up over an hour and a half early (never even cracked a smile.) He didn't walk around the house and see or ask what I wanted done. He stood on the back porch and threw out a quote for painting and for the back landscaping. By his demeanor, I could tell he didn't want to be here. After being very short with me and rude, he shook my hand, wished me luck, and got back in his car. I wouldn't recommend this guy to my worst enemy. He's extremely arrogant for a so-called professional. read more

"Buyer Beware"! After Butch "owner" surveyed our property he gave us a verbal quote of $5,000 to install a new sprinkler system but said he would return with Travis his sprinkler guy to get it put into a contract. After Travis looked things over he said that the quote should have been $7,000. Our two other quotes were a bit higher so we went with Boos & Sons anyway and game them a deposit of $1,000. A few weeks later they showed up to start the work, three days later we had our new sprinkler system! We paid them a balance of $6,000. After running through and setting timers we discovered that there were some issues that needed to be resolved. We stopped payment on the check and explained in an email to Butch that as soon as the issues were resolved we would gladly issue another check. (This is where it gets interesting!) We inadvertently canceled the wrong check number (unbenounced to us) so Boos & Sons were able to deposit said check in their bank account. A couple of days later Travis showed up to fix the issues and we wrote them another check that also was deposited. When we discovered our mistake we called, emailed, and sent them copies of both canceled checks. We are business owners ourselves and know that this would have been an easy fix however Butch Boos and wife Linda claimed the bank said only one check was deposited, lies after lies went on for days. After several conversations, I was getting nowhere and in fact, Butch was very condescending and rude to me and I got the distinct impression that he did not deal well with women. He purposefully drug his feet and told me he would get to it when he had time. (Mind you he had an extra $6,000 of ours sitting in his bank and he knew it! He is dishonest and a liar! Frustrated, I handed everything over to my husband, my husband called Butch and threatened legal action and demanded our money be returned the next day. Surprise, surprise, the money miraculously must have appeared in his bank account because we had a check the very next day. Lesson learned, never do business with Boos & Sons, especially owner Butch!! Side Note: Travis was great and would recommend him however unfortunately he works for Butch and Linda. read more

Waste of my F-ing time! They said they would call be for showing between a two hour window I took off work for. Butch just shows up, no notice and doesn't shake my hand or come within 5 feet of me. I start to explain we want to rip out concrete front porch and replace with wood one. He automatically says ate thous and only comes within 10ft of the porch!!!! I've had 5 other people out and I tell him he is the highest so far. He says let me explain it too u. Takes me to his car and shows me a book with pictures of composite. I tell him I know what composite is but don't see how he is getting that number from this job. He slaps the book closed and says 'good luck hun" and just leaves! The nerve.
