A Stellar Experience with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design, Colorado Springs…read more Hey, we all know that Life is complicated enough, so it's always nice to call on really hardworking professionals to lighten your burden and workload a bit. With that in mind, I was extremely impressed with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design. They helped us with a couple of landscape projects for our house in North Colorado Springs (Northgate area), and their services have been nothing short of exceptional. Our first project involved removing some sod in the front yard and replacing it with landscape rocks. This project not only enhanced the aesthetics of our yard but also promised to reduce water usage during the growing season and minimize the effort required for lawn maintenance (mowing, aeration). Evergreen, starting with Wesley, did a fantastic job of listening to our needs. Wesley came up with a proposal that met or exceeded all our expectations. They ordered the rock, installed the contractor-grade weed cloth, and hauled away the debris, making the entire process smooth and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is that many Colorado Springs landscape companies do not work in the winter. Evergreen is a notable exception. They worked around the weather and snow to ensure that the work was done professionally and not that busy winter time. Their commitment to their work is evident in their ability to adapt to challenging conditions without compromising quality. The second project involved building a dry creek bed, or arroyo, in the backyard. This project was designed to help with flood mitigation during summer storms. Tyler and Luke were phenomenal in executing this relatively complex project. As with most projects, we encountered some snags, but Tyler was able to adjust the plan to ensure that the water flowed correctly and made sure that the water gutters from the roofs had an unobstructed path to lower ground. Very important for the torrential down pours we sometime get in the Summer. I was very impressed with Evergreen's professionalism, communication, hard work, and ability to improvise to ensure that the project deliverables were met. They assured me that they would stay until the job was done right and correct, which they did. Evergreen Ecoscape and Design is an awesome company to work with, which explains their high customer satisfaction ratings. They excel in value, cost, efficiency, and professionalism. Now, 1 1/2 months later the Lowe's plants are beautiful and doing great, however, the plant from McCords is dying. We called to ask about a replacement plant and to see if we could return the bag of soil we did not use but found out McCords does not take any returns nor replace any plant. Lesson learned for us... this high priced nursery is no match for Lowe's and much more expensive.

For example, we have a metal bench on our patio which acquired some cement splatters when the patio work was being done by the Greater Grounds crew. Ida made special arrangements for Tyler to pick up the bench, worked on it in her spare time and had it delivered back to our patio looking like new. Amazing, amazing customer service! My experience with Greater Grounds was mixed to poor. Although I had few problems scheduling my…read morelandscaping project in 2025, I was disappointed with the quality of the finished work. The project included extending the concrete patio in my backyard and installing paver steps leading to the lower level of the yard. The paver installation left large, noticeable gaps between several of the steps. Greater Grounds attempted to correct the issue by filling the gaps with sand, but the appearance of the finished steps remained unsatisfactory. Approximately one year after the project was completed, I also noticed two cracks developing in the concrete slab along with several areas of significant discoloration. When I contacted the company, I was told that concrete work was not covered under the warranty. However, after reviewing my contract, I could not find any language excluding concrete work from warranty coverage. I then wrote a letter to the CEO of Greater Grounds requesting that my concerns be reviewed. After waiting more than 14 days, I did not receive a response. Based on my experience, I was disappointed with both the quality of the workmanship and the company's response after the project was completed. I expected better communication and a greater commitment to resolving legitimate concerns. The finished project did not meet my expectations, and I cannot recommend Greater Grounds based on my experience. In comparison, I have seen work completed by other landscaping companies, including Randy's Landscaping, that demonstrates a much higher level of craftsmanship and leaves customers with a much stronger impression of the finished product.

In addition, he's one of the most punctual, reliable, and hard working contractors I've ever had the pleasure to know.
