We were staying at an Airbnb right up the street, so it was super convenient to stop in. We were greeted at the door by the friendliest girl who told us all about the space. She shared that it used to be an old dairy barn and they had a shop & restaurant in the main barn space, an Iowa local shop out back, and an antique treasure shop upstairs. She did mention that if we wanted to dine or sit for coffee, we needed to let her know ahead of time so they could reserve a table space, so keep that in mind if you're planning to stop to eat! We stayed in the main barn area and browsed the local shop finds. They had everything from Iowa-made wine, knife sets, honey, clothing, crafts, artwork, jewelry, and Iowa-themed goodies. If you are shopping for unique local gifts, this is the spot to visit! The shop workers were SO friendly and sweet!! They also made me a delicious caramel latte to go on my way out. I would love to go back when I return to Iowa!

It's full of fun gifts, home decor and funny unique items. I strongly recommend you visit the back room. Because who doesn't need a pot holder that says "I f#*%!ing love cheese!" They have several adult humor items in the back of the store and my husband and I had a good laugh. The front of the store has more tame and family friendly items. Lots of good gift ideas for a wedding, shower, graduation or just to get something for yourself or a friend. The woman attending the store was very personable and friendly. She offered gift wrapping for my items and had pleasant conversation without being pushy. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because it's so cluttered. There is stuff everywhere! They seem to have an organization to it but it's hard to shop. They're us stuff floor to ceiling crammed in there. It's hard to navigate through and if you were a bigger person or had to use a walker or a cane it would be even more difficult. But overall a neat store!

I love the duology of these two stores! Anything you find at one store you can then take over to the other store to purchase, so you can browse both stores before making your final purchase! The World's Window contains products from all over the world that they have sourced globally. Meanwhile, The Cob Mercantile showcases products from local Iowan artisans! I love the dichotomy of the local and global goods and it's such a fun way to organize the two stores. We entered through The Cob Mercantile and was greeted with the friendly shop owner, who chatted to us about what the store contained and told us about World's Window too. From there, we went off shopping through all the different displays, nooks, and crannies in both stores that highlighted different goodies from different artisans throughout. There are SO many great options and variety here for yourself and gift options for all your loved ones as well! I made many mental notes on great gift options for so many of my loved ones and will definitely be back soon! The pricing is all reasonable and I love nothing more than being able to shop small! This set of stores is a must visit when you're in Cedar Falls, I love its prime location right in the heart of downtown and will definitely be stopping in every single time I come to visit from here on out!

Nice new store. The old store was falling apart and in disrepair. This one has all the same stuff…read morejust with a fresher environment. I love their huge selection of picture frames. I'm not very crafty but like their home decor. Big drawback is they are not open Sundays. But good for them. Just not as convenient. If you find something you want and it's no on sale wait a week or two. Eventually it will be 50% off. Glad to see them in this new store and a location that will be more convenient for me.

I got the opportunity to play on the River Loop the other night, as a part of Waterloo Center for…read morethe Arts! Wow what a beautiful place to see live music! It was hot but have no fear, there were beers, food, people rolling up on boats and people enjoying the sights and sounds of the city! The event was beautifully run and I enjoyed talking to Kent from the center for the arts about some of the other things they are doing there this summer including showing films and hosting more concerts! I didn't get the opportunity to go inside and check out the art museum so this is more a review of the River loop but man if's its half as cool on the inside as it was on the outside it will be 5 stars for sure!

As a tourist just looking to visit a gallery it is not as impressive as some comparable size cities but worth the time to exit the highway and have a look, there is no admission charge. When I was visiting they had a Grant Wood exhibit, a Haitian art exhibit and upstairs gallery had random pieces including pottery. Staff are welcoming and they have a small coffee bar/gift shop.
