It will be operating here until the main library is reopened. The volunteers have done a lovely job organizing this suite and the day I was there it was staffed with at least two volunteers. The collection is small but very high in quality and conscientiously organized. And the prices are eminently fair, lower even than thrift stores. They handle more than just books and by going to their Facebook page or website you can discover what they're all about. This is in that area of Broadway which is being gentrified, and there are many interesting nearby businesses, including the popular Broadway Coffeehouse. Thirty-minute unmetered parking is usually open right out front.

It was more than we could've hoped for. A small little space with mini mini mini books to choose from. Very artfully arranged with lots of fun things to look at. Who doesn't like crystals and used books?!? My 10 year old went crazy and bought some crystals and found two Twilight books she had been searching for. She also found an original ticket from our local theatre for the Twilight movie in one of the books,we let the two men know it was inside and one said he only threw away trash inside but only left treasures for the new book owner to find. This store is just that, a treasure in our town of Albany. Thank you gentleman for making us feel welcomed and ask for our suggestions, we can't wait to come back and see what new treasures can be found. Cherry on top, they let you know if you want to haggle the book prices that they were willing to haggle. They were also so kind to give us a discount for buying so much.

I overheard him interacting with other customers and he was rude to them as well. My partner likes this place because he can get used sci-fi/fantasy books for a great price, but I will personally not be coming back.

Luckily, Portland has a wonderful reading community that operates Rose City Reads. I actually found out about this location from a volunteer at the store in the Main library. Located in a strip mall, this location is out in the northeast, an area with few bookstores. Each time I've ventured in, there are plenty of other patrons roaming the stacks. And because this location is run by caring volunteers, it's always well organized with clearly labeled shelves. About half of the books are library discards, while the rest are community donations. And most everything is less than $5, so there are plenty of deals to be had.
