Good spot for gamers, variety of books, DVDs, Blue-Rays, Mangas, CDs, comic books, Pokemon, game consoles, Japanese figurines. The aisles come to odd narrow points for the first row by the cashier. The last row gets a bit congested too. Clearance sections too. Has a lot of different items for anyone.

We had put an order in across the street for sushi and had some time to kill so I suggested we check out Bookoff. When we pulled into the parking lot I saw the shelves of figurines in the window and assumed it was more of a gaming anime/manga kind of shop which admittedly I'm not as familiar with so first impression was that I wouldn't spend a ton of time there. Boy was I wrong! Yes, they have a pretty good selection of the aforementioned items but it's SO much more! First off, the entire store is used merchandise and they pack a ton in. The first thing I saw when I walked in was the aisle of vinyl. I immediately knew I'd lose my husband to that for a while and I was right! I loved exploring too, of course, but he's the real crate digger in the family and spent many years working in record stores so as soon as I see a 12 inch I know I'm on my own. I believe the brand started in Japan and we were delighted to find a TON of Japanese import pressings. Prices varied and were very Goldilocks--some over, some under, some just right. We snagged a few of the latter category, including a Japanese pressing of Wings "Band on the Run." Very cool! The largest selection of merchandise is books. There are a ton in a variety of genres, mostly fiction but a nicely rounded variety of genres can be found, for sure. There's also a large section of dvds, blurays and CDs, as well as some more niche/retro media like cassettes. Speaking of retro--the gaming!! They have a decent section of used video games including current platforms like the switch and PS5 but also a ton of retro gaming including Game Boy, Game Boy 3D, GameCube, N64 etc. They even have a few SNES and NES games all at pretty reasonable price points (including a fairly collectable SNES Rocko's Modern Life game for a cool $80). You can also get used consoles, including some of the older platforms like the N64 and whatnot. A few other noteworthy offerings: a large section of resale Pokemon cards, Funko Pops, action figures and collectable figurines, dedicated anime and manga sections, a small section of Asian language books, and some anime themed resale accessories/trinkets like keychains, lanyards, pins, etc. I was so pleasantly surprised by their offerings and my husband and I were already planning another date out that way just so we could stop in again for more exploring!

Book off just opened in Novi! It's part of the sakura shopping plaza in the back. Lots of parking. So many books, games and movies! Lots of selection and wide range of pricing. They don't have enough people working here yet. The line is wrapped around the back.

As other reviews have mentioned, there's a huge gaming section of things to buy plus Japanese-inspired things like manga and anime and accessories.

We definitely recommend Unicorn One book store. We have been shopping here for years, and it is one…read moreof our favorite book stores anywhere. The store has a remarkable variety of books on all sorts of subjects. It's particularly refreshing that the selection includes older books as well as more current ones; when you find a good author you want to read everything they have written, not just the latest book! Also, the store carries hardcovers as well as paperbacks, which is a definite find, since they're scarcer in used shops and I've always preferred hardcovers - since they don't fall apart easily and the print is bigger. It's a great selection. The shelves are well organized by category and author, but there are also miscellaneous boxes to go through that have not been filed yet. A bonus treasure trove. Everything here is very reasonably priced, and you can bring in books to get discounted prices. I never leave empty handed. I always find something here that I need every time we visit. A great store also means a great owner. It is all part of the experience. She is friendly and helpful. She knows where everything is in the store and can suggest titles and authors that suit my reading preferences. She knows her customers well and her recommendations are always great. She is very nice, very intelligent, and very knowledgeable, not only about books and authors, but about a wide range of subjects. She is very well read. We can discuss books, film, television, the book industry, and anything under the sun. We come for the books and stay for the conversation. The owner is awesome, so her shop is a destination. One of the best used book stores we've been to, and that is saying something. We drive almost an hour to shop and visit, and are here every other month or so. Definitely worth checking out.

There were some books still in boxes, but there are so many books that she doesn't have enough room to display them all! We bought a lot of books and were both happy with our purchases. I recommend this store to anyone looking for used books.

I thought this was a really good bookstore! It had a good selection. I actually ordered my books…read moreonline the night before for instore pickup. They had them ready and waiting for me the following afternoon. Store is clean and well organized. And the employee at the front desk was very friendly - seemed very nice when checking out the couple in front of me and when some people walked into the store after me. I'll definitely go back. And the online ordering/pickup system was so easy. Plus there are multiple small stores to stop in that shopping center - TJ maxx, hallmark, better health, an ACE hardware - so then I can pop in multiple spots!

Books. Books. Books…read more I'm slowly getting my momentum back when it comes to reading, and it was time I put a dent into my wishlist. I came here the other day specifically for Pete Souza's new book, which is hysterical and amusing after only three pages. I would've saved around 10 bucks had I ordered online, but I couldn't wait 3-5 days. The employees don't seem too high strung, and seem very eager to help you out, which is great because it can be annoying when it's obviously that you need help, yet staff just walks by you. When I initially entered the store the first thing to catch my eye was a mug. I end up picking it up, only to add to the 40+ mugs I already have and don't really need. In addition to mugs they're tons of gadgets, cards, keychains, ect... This store almost feels like a an outlet Barnes and Nobles meets Borders. Plan on return to do some Christmas shopping for friends/family who also loves books.
