We have already voiced our discontent with our wedding DJ and Will claims he has been let go. I…read morebooked DJ Will & paid the deposit in April for an October wedding. We picked him as he was a DJ at a friend's wedding a few years ago and my mom remembered how amazing he was. Unfortunately our experience was not the same. We found out 8 days before the wedding that we would not be getting Will as our DJ... but instead AJ. I raised my concern that the reason we went with him was HIS personality, not someone we had never heard. He assured me that everyone who works for him is upbeat and has a great DJ personality. Unfortunately, at 8 days till the wedding, we didn't have much option anymore so I reluctantly said ok. The wedding day came and you know how everyone says that there's always SOMETHING that goes wrong... well for us, that was the DJ. AJ had NO personality, hardly said a word all night. He did not do the years married dance that I had requested, did not motivate the crowd to get up for the dollar dance, and did not play 2 of the 4 songs we requested. He claimed that he did not have "Amazed" by Lonestar nor "Love Shack." These are two VERY popular wedding songs so you can understand my shock and disappointment, not to mention that we sent in a song sheet a few weeks before the wedding. And that's not to mention that on this call 8 days prior to the wedding, Will assured me that he had all the songs we wanted and that AJ had all of Will's music. During the regular dancing time, we started around 7:30... at 8:45 not a single slow song had been played. My husband went up and asked him if he was going to play a slow song, you know, this is a wedding and all, and he said "yeah, I'm getting ready to slow it down." While talking to one of my guests, he said he went up and asked AJ as well and he was told that he was getting ready to play about FIVE slow songs. When the slow songs came on, he played two back to back. On the THIRD one in a row (which was a very special song to my husband and I) I couldn't even enjoy it as no one wants to dance to multiple slow songs in a row. My husband went up to AJ and asked him what the heck, you can't just play a bunch of slow songs in a row. AJ said "Oh you want me to mix it up more?" DUH. I was so disappointed. He had NO CLUE how to DJ a wedding. I also had 3 different friends tell me that they requested a song (the same song) and he never played it. And he played a ton of Michael Jackson all close together.. definitely not a request we made. Lastly, he paid no attention to end time, which is very important seeing as how many venues charge you extra if you stay late. I had to go up and tell him, hey after this is going to be the last song and please play a certain song as the last song. The whole time he had basically nothing to say over the mic and did not do anything to pump the crowd up, many people told me he was playing on his phone all night. The ONLY nice thing that came from the DJ was that his girlfriend who came with him taught everyone how to do the Wobble. We almost just told him to leave and put on Pandora or Slacker Radio, they would have been just as good. Not to mention, the uplighting he did during the first dance made it so no one got a good picture, even the ones from my photographer are just ok. My husband called Will a few days after the wedding and explained our disappointment and Will reimbursed us $100 (well, since he insisted we use PayPal, we got $96.80 after the fees) out of the total $500 we paid. I think we should have gotten more but I guess it's better than nothing. I will never recommend DJ Will to anyone, ever. And that's sad b/c he himself is a great DJ, but you shouldn't advertise your service if you are going to send someone else. Oh, and very last thing here, the file I received to fill out for our songs EXPLICITLY stated to print and mail it to him, so I very much did not appreciate when I was told he wasn't used to getting mail and acted as though I was an idiot for sending it to him... That is what the paper said to do!

All Night Soundz - An example of a wedding they provided to me

    All Night Soundz

AWFUL DJ EXPERIENCE…read more All Night Soundz was the biggest regret I have of my wedding day. I want to first start off by saying the couple who provided the service was very kind, but they are not meant to be DJ's and I have a sour taste in my mouth when I think back to the reception. It was made aware a few weeks after hiring All Night Soundz, that the owners wouldn't be able to host our wedding due to a Shriner conflict. **It was explained that they were Shriners themselves and were attending some kind of function they couldn't get out of** They proposed their son and daughter in law could do it since they've been getting into the DJ business. We were unsure in the beginning, but after talking with them decided they would do a great job and they put us at ease. Skip to the wedding day. I was getting ready and taking photos, so I wasn't made aware of anything until I walked down the aisle... What we paid for was not what we received. I thought the set up looked strange and lackluster... There were no lights or turntable...or anything really. Upon asking, I was informed that the owners of ANS took all of their equipment to the Shriner event, left money for their kids to rent speakers and a microphone, and basically left them on their own. Not even a freaking tablecloth!! (We provided one.) WHAT THE HECK!!? The microphone they used was corded, so if anyone wanted to speak into it there was only so many feet of space they could move. The DJ set up was not close enough to the speeches and the dinner area, so our speeches had to be projected loudly at the front of the room for everyone to hear. If we were made aware that the owners were putting on the event as a DJ and not just attending an event like they led us to believe, we would have never hired them. I am livid that the #1 question I have been asked after my wedding is "Who was your DJ - because I'm telling so and so not to hire them." The sound was horrible, whenever anyone spoke into the microphone - no one could hear anything. My dad and I couldn't even hear our first dance song. I was asking around for thoughts on the DJ after the wedding was over and some of my family members said that the couple was making out at one point and sitting on each others laps. Our wedding was cocktail attire and I'm almost positive they asked what they should wear, but maybe not. They showed up in acid wash jeans and bright turquoise polos. I reached out to the owners on Facebook and Taylor (our wedding DJ) texted me to respond. This is what I said, "Hello, I'd like to talk to you about a partial refund for the equipment and lights not being what was agreed upon. We absolutely loved your kids and they did a great job with what they had! We were disappointed to hear that you took the equipment and they had to rent out speakers and microphones." The owners have yet to reach out me to explain their deceptive behavior and why I was not warned prior. Taylor offered us a $100 return on a $675 service, but it still doesn't feel fair. I've been blocked by them on Facebook and still haven't received a refund. Below is a photo of their normal set up versus what we received. Just sharing my experience so others are warned!!

We absolutely LOVE All Night Sound!z!!…read more As the owner of another local mobile DJ company, it's not very often that I go and write reviews for other DJ companies. BUT the degree of awesomeness, mixed with professionalism, and experience that they bring to each and every event - makes me recommend them to any and all couples that my company cannot personally book due to the fact that we're unavailable.
