I had soreness in a spot of my lower back as well as below my hips, and she worked some magic and made both feel so much better after the session and that pain has been gone for a few weeks now! This is a much overdue review of Becca, but I have to share my experience with her work. About 5 months ago, I drove up from San Diego for a weekend of "me time" in Ojai and was looking for an authentic healer and boy did I find her! Being a body and energy worker myself, I looking for someone who I could connect with. She is very professional and was able to see me that weekend, last minute on a Sunday morning. The space was very light and welcoming. She took the time to sit down with me and get an overview of what I was looking for. Becca is extremely knowledgeable of anatomy and can read the structural and muscular misalignment's quickly. She knows the body in a way that not even physical therapists and Dr's know. She helped me realize how I was carrying my hips to help avoid my occasional back pain. She also could point out the cause of my shoulder pain, something I've been trying to discover for awhile. I moved to Ojai from LA three years ago with a history of back spasms and herniated discs. I immediately began my search for an outstanding massage therapist and some new friends recommended Becca to me. I have been getting massages twice a month from Becca at my house ever since and these massages have literally held me together. In an odd twist of fate, the morning of her unannounced massage, my wife strained her neck and back and was in an immobilizing amount of discomfort. I cannot say enough praise about Becca. She is a rock star on so many levels. I ended up finding her through a basic Google search and feel so lucky. I recently moved to the LA area and am expecting my first baby. Knowing I wanted to take care of my body and myself. I did some research on available bodywork in the area - - - particularly with someone who could handle my body and the changes during pregnancy. I knew I didn't want a spa "rubdown" with just anyone, I wanted to have a pregnancy massage specialist who could do work that my pre-baby body needed, that my current baby body could benefit from, and that even my post-baby body could use, all while even benefiting labor prep! And Becca is that woman. She has a great understanding of anatomy and most importantly of pregnancy and musculature. She works with the perfect amount of pressure and feels like combination of the right amount of pressure and release work - leaving you totally relaxed but also rejuvenated. She's also thoughtful and damn cool and comes to the house, so you can stay totally comfortable and just flop in your own home after. She also has this body butter (I call it butter but it's her own creation) that she uses as a combination of baby-safe muscle relaxation aroma therapy that smells exclusively like a massage with her - I love lathering myself in it and just soaking it all in. Most importantly, I have had ZERO pain. ZERO. I'm just about in my third trimester, so the growing has started and will keep going, but I haven't experienced any low back pain, any back pain, any sciatica or really much of anything at all. For sure I have experienced some tightness from sleeping only on my side (a bit tough to get used to) but Becca helps sort all that out. And we even worked on pre-pregnancy issues just to help reduce tightness and prevent anything from worsening. She's awesome. Becca gave me an amazing prenatal massage the other day, and I've felt lighter ever since! That's really saying something, too, as I'm over 8 months pregnant, and have had some pretty acute physical pain and mobility issues throughout this pregnancy! She was a very comforting presence, reassuringly knowledgeable about my specific (and fairly obscure) pregnancy-related ailments, having had so much experience with prenatal bodywork, and was sure to be communicative with me about my comfort throughout the session. She gave me REAL work, too, that my body had so needed. I've had prenatal massages where the therapists were very timid to do anything more than a light rubdown, which really doesn't feel like it does much (or like my money's worth), but with Becca as your therapist, you will get the relief that your body needs! She even noticed some dry areas of skin that are typical in pregnancy, and offered her own luxurious body butter as a remedy and the 'icing on the cake' of the experience for me! read more

She is very strong, and gives a real massage that is not one of those weak, I'm-just-rubbing-some-lotion on-you massages. She is also communicative, and she adapts easily if you would like more or less pressure. She is extremely knowledgeable about musculature, and addresses areas where there is more tension.
