A walk through this little gem makes me think this is what Warhol's Montauk looked like. Tanned, sun bleached surfers should be permanently lounging on this store's couches. Not a lot of choices here which makes it all the more enjoyable. My favorite picks are the St. James sailor shirts and Moscot sunglasses.

By tax, I mean everything is definitely more expensive here than anywhere else. Help yourself, expect things to be expensive, then be surprised when they are almost normal. This particular trip to Whites, I came in for a few necessities: toothbrush ($2), toothpaste($3) and a BBQ lighter ($2.15). I was pleasantly surprised that these prices were not astronomical and in general I was just happy they had everything I needed. In an area where there is no Walmart or Target, Whites does a good job of squeezing a little bit of everything into a fair sized shop. I have found adorable Christmas ornaments, awesome t-shirts and many necessities. It can be a little tough walking through here at times when it gets crowded, just be patient. There is always a line for the cashier but it usually goes pretty quick. The people here are nice and they will help you find what you need, but some of them are seasonal workers and they may not know exactly what is in the store. If one person can't help you, just try someone else. Whites also has a liquor store around the corner. Again, great selection and helpful service. There is a reason they have been in business for a long time. NOTE: There is a cashier in front and in back. So check both areas.

I saw the "same" blanket but was marked down 50% off! 50% is a big savings! Lets do a test. You have twenty bucks in your pocket. Now give to me $10 bucks. Sucks right? Keep your money my Yelp friend! You're taking the time and reading my reviews, I should be able to pass my savings on to you. This store I also need to point out, has quality clothing. I came in for a paddleboard, but after hearing the prices this place has, I had to go on a little shopping spree. I hadn't planned on shopping while I was in Montauk, but I had to check out the store after seeing the cute dresses in their window displays. The owner of the store, who I found out is responsible for all the buying, has amazing taste and a great eye for patterns and prints. I'd describe Next Door's look and feel as an eclectic mix of elegant, chic and quirky vacation wear. Think Calypso St. Barth meets Free People. The staff was very intuitive and friendly, leaving me alone when I just wanted to browse and ready to help when I had questions. They even took a dress down from their display for me because it was the only one left in the size I wanted. They're also very knowledgeable about what they have in their shop. When I was paying for the dress I picked out, the manager mentioned that they also carry a dress from the same collection in a different color and cut, and asked if I wanted to see it. The next time I'm in Montauk, I'll definitely be stopping by their shop again.
