You must, however, check-in first to use their facility. There are study rooms and several desks with low privacy barriers available. The library is on the 3rd floor with an extension to the 4th floor. It's very quiet with nice city views. It's open daily except Sundays. On the first floor, there's a small cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. There are vending machines and microwaves available as well. One downside is there aren't a lot of outlets in the library area. Street parking is available. Not sure how it is when school is in session.

Her name is Christina. She called the campus police on me five of them blatantly because of my size of my statue. I'm a 57 year-old black man who's been disabled I have spent $2000 into this college to take three steps forward and three steps back because of my stature I have not gotten any help from professors or of the associate dean of students from the NW College. I would strongly urge students who want to go to this newfound for your college, not go. It is discriminating. It is gender ism on how the way the students not only feel but how they have been treated. This university needs to be seriously streamline. Advisors are very rude. They miss inform students as well as the chair people of the Higher administration and conducting and supporting professors who are passionate, but not giving them the tools or the students to succeed and which is really sad because the next generation they have no support I've got no support and no avail and I've decided to move forward with another accredited university so I strongly urge you don't go to this university I've wasted four semesters and good hard earned money that I put out in my pocket that I won't be getting back. It's wrong to have the administration of this college treat the student in such fashion and it is also wrong because somebody who is gay like myself who is big, black, bold, beautiful brilliant to be treated and such a racist and gender manner

I've sent a lot and I feel at this point they're ignoring me the calls as well. They just put me on hold for longer than 40 minutes. Or just answer the phone and put it on hold without saying anything. I simply just need them to add me into a class that's already started that the professor gave me access to enroll. And student services are the only ones that can do it. So I'm quite disappointed. I've already gone to campus also redo this week as well.

They Boyd was very rude yelled at me even though my professor changed the course times and the schedule that overlapped with my current course for which was Texas history why do we have to take Texas history? It's just a waste of them making more money which in fact he had no right hit the panic button. Let's call the campus police because he's yelling at me and once Man forces me to take a course it overlaps and says it meets in 30 minutes on their screen, and I have the paperwork that printed it otherwise this university can't get their act together to save their life you have you have the admissions clerks that don't know what they're doing the registrar as well as the professor changes their students the first day of class rooms and rosters. I wasn't even on the roster for biology which I had to drop which I'm getting my money back. It's just a mess on the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and people just do whatever they want their departments at the cost of the Student stay away from this college. You're better off going and getting your education from a foyer institution all they want to do is take your money and not give you the tools to succeed. I have decided to just register myself. It's not worth the effort to waste gas to go down there and wait for two hours knowing full well your course will overlap. I am going to warm up my voter registration card and change because our educational system is failing.

There are 2 classes each week, each an hour and a half. In addition to the price of the course, on the first day you will also be given a list of books/materials that are needed. In my case, I only needed to buy one book, which ended up being around $100 on Amazon for the loose-leaf version. That actually wasn't too bad for a textbook. I'm currently on the 3rd week of classes, and despite the hefty price tag, I don't regret it. So far we have already covered basic introductions, taking leave, adjectives for describing people, classroom objects, colours, and very basic grammar. Further, because of the constant classes, I definitely feel like it builds a great fun and supportive group. One of my classmates brought in French books he had found and gifted one to each of us, and we've discussed watching French movies and getting together to work on homework. All in all, this is a bucket-list item for me coming true. The class is located at the Anderson-Clarke building at Rice. With the price of tuition, they give you a free parking pass which is really nice. Unfortunately, this is located quite far from where I generally work, so since the classes take place during traffic hours on week days I end up running late to every class. Lastly, one potential negative is that a vast majority of whether one would succeed in this class will rely on the student practicing outside of class since it is actually quite fast paced. Madame Larsen focuses a lot on pronunciation, and requests that students record the classes in order to facilitate further practice. All in all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is either able to get their company to sponsor foreign language classes, or has the time/money to spare on a lifelong skill.

How do you write a review about a University? I switched from Community College to UHD to complete…read moremy bachelor's degree in business. After my first semester, I was accepted into the Marilyn Davies College of Business. The facilities are adequate and I have visited multiple times for visiting a guidance counselor, meeting students for assignments and taking finals. However, my classes have all been online. I would say that the coursework is adequate. The books assigned are quality books and the online lab-work is appropriate; however, I have been very disappointed in the quality of the faculty and professors. On each assignment or notice or email provided by a professor, I have found grammatical and spelling mistakes. You would expect that emails going out to the entire student body would be proof-read, but on multiple instances I have had to shake my head at the blatant errors. It feels demoralizing to be graded by professors who are reported to have Ph.D.s who cannot complete sentences without error. UHD also uses a lead professor teaching model in which a professor with a doctorate is responsible for teaching multiple courses with the help of another professor who is basically the secretary to the lead professor. Frankly, I am not really a fan yet, or at least not in the way I have seen it implemented. I am seriously considering changing schools, but have found the location of their facilities to be very convenient for me since I work downtown.

It is fairly easy to find friends here because people here are a lot more open. They make the college experience enjoyable, instead of feeling like you are just going to school for an education and that's it. You can find some life-long friends here because everyone doesn't have a high school friend that follow you around--people actually want to find different people who share the same interests as you. The professors here are a lot better than South (I'm not saying South doesn't have good professors) I've taken many classes here that ratemyprofessor.com reviews were greater. The student center is actually revolved around the students and their needs. They have a huge cafeteria that serves fast food and homemade food. The bookstore is Barnes and Noble and Starbucks--usually they have textbooks that South or North campus doesn't have. There's a certain area with lounge chairs, and a huge flat screen tv specifically for relaxing and getting your mind off of your classes. They have a lot more clubs here that fits any interest you may have. The gym is huge and has a mildew smell to it--I don't know maybe because it its an old building or so. They have recreational sports where you can meet new people and revolved around having fun. Also, cardio and weight rooms for exercise This campus has so many resources that South doesn't have. It is because this was the first campus built because this is the Main campus.

Our family is deeply disappointed and heartbroken by the way a current female Texas Southern…read moreUniversity student has reportedly been treated while pursuing an opportunity within TSU Athletics. My niece is currently a sophomore at TSU, following in the footsteps of her mother, a proud alumna who earned her master's degree from this institution and has given back through teaching, volunteer work, organizations, and community involvement. My niece has shown that same commitment. She is dedicated not only to excelling academically, but also to becoming an active member of the campus and surrounding community. She has achieved honor roll recognition multiple times and takes her education and involvement at TSU seriously. She applied for a student management position with the men's basketball program. The posting did not state that applicants were required to be male, and she was invited to interview. During that interview, she reports being told that the program does not typically hire women for the position and being questioned about why she did not instead pursue a position with the women's basketball program. Her gender should never have been the focus. Men work in coaching, management, administrative, athletic training, and support roles throughout women's athletics every day. Women should be afforded the same opportunities within men's athletics when they are qualified to do the job. After she reported what occurred, the matter has now become a dispute over what was or was not said. However, there were other students present who may have heard the interaction. Interview them. Review the original posting. Review the hiring criteria and documentation. Determine whether male and female applicants were truly afforded the same opportunity. We also want to acknowledge Cynthia Buckley for listening to my niece, engaging with her concerns, and demonstrating due diligence thus far. Our family genuinely appreciates her assistance. What remains heartbreaking is that a young woman who has worked hard academically, earned repeated honor roll recognition, sought opportunities to contribute to her university, and proudly continued her family's TSU legacy could leave an interview feeling that being a woman made her less welcome. My niece may be young, but she is fully capable of advocating for herself, and she has a family standing firmly behind her. We expect Texas Southern University to conduct a fair and thorough review, speak with witnesses, review the documentation, ensure there is no retaliation, and take appropriate action if her complaint is substantiated. There is pride, history, and family legacy attached to Texas Southern University. There should also be trust that every student will receive a fair opportunity regardless of gender.

Because not every school is perfect, but it's best to be honest about it. ~Pros~ -- study abroad options SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM! Also many programs such as CIEE, DiscoverU, and EY. -- early college high school Getting your associates while doing high school can benefit you in so many ways, and lots of universities and colleges accept the college credit that you earned. HAIS offers both Associates of Art and Associates of Science. If you're lucky enough, you can graduate with your bachelors early because you already did so much work for your associates! -- Lots of classes to take! HAIS has a wide range of classes with the basics of math, science, history, and english. HAIS provides: English I-IV & Business English (Juniors only) AP History Classes (APHuG, APWH, & APUSH) AP-PreAP Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Science Research (Seniors Only) Algebra 1 & 2 + College Algebra, Geometry, AP & Regular Calculus, Economics Graphic Design, Mobile App Development, AP Computer Science, Principles of Government, Political Science 1 & 2, P.E. These are student led clubs run by some Juniors for sophomores and freshman to join. You apply to one at the beginning of the school year, and that will be your designated club that you go to every Friday for an hour. Your club sponsors will be teachers, so you must ask quickly before one of them get reserved! -- Sports Recently sports has exploded at HAIS. We specialize in volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, dance, and basketball at the moment. Our boys and girls teams are absolutely killing it this season! And we can't wait to see more wins. (follow HAIS on their Twitter and Instagram for the most updates) ~Cons~ -- Small school HAIS usually consists of about 500 students. About 150 freshman will be admitted each year. -- Limited teachers Since the school is so small, we only have about 2-3 of each teacher that teach each subject, but they are spectacular. If you ever need help always go to their tutorials! Very informative. -- Limited funding The impact of COVID-19 has severely affected our funding for field trip events and more, so we ask that you donate to our HAIS PTO that helps the school host more events such as Homecoming.
