No trouble with parking, and it is free to enter, so you really should stop by if you are nearby. It's worth it.

BOTANICAL GARDEN @ BELLEVUE…read more Parking is available right out front, which makes this place super accessible. There are also designated handicap parking spots. My friend and I visited on a Friday around 2 PM, and there were a few spots open, so getting in was really easy. I loved how simple everything was to navigate, there's even a map available when you enter. Entry and parking are both completely free, which is a huge plus. We walked along the trail and I'd recommend spending about 2-3 hours here if you want to take your time and fully enjoy it. We had to speed-run our visit because we had another errand afterward, but it was still incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend stopping by the bridge, it was very therapeutic and relaxing to walk across. There are plenty of benches and seating areas along the way, perfect for taking breaks or just soaking in nature. The quality of the space is amazing, with a wide variety of rocks, trees, and scenery that make the whole experience feel peaceful. There are also bathrooms located at the front, and you're never too far from other people, which made it feel comfortable and safe. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping by this place.

Tractor goes 1 mile per hour. Save your time and money. A handful of rows have bloomed, they should delay the opening date if they know people are paying to see all of them. If they know they're not in full bloom, why open? I did my research and what I seen vs what I read did not match. In the surrounding areas, there were fields of tulips. If I'd of known better, I would've went to their farm instead. The farm should delay their opening if the customers aren't getting what is being advertised. Also sectioning out a few rows so that can be picked so that customers can have an immersive experience would be my recommendation. I have yet to go to a tulip festival where you can't pick. That's all. And I'm not trying to dig at this particular farm, but my personal experience was not the best and would hate for anyone else to have to go through that. Maybe call ahead to get your questions answered before relying on the site. As it did not state any of those things, and if it did, it was hard to find.

What a beautiful botanical garden! If you like flowers, rare and exotic plants, and a bit of…read morehistory of the area, this is your place. Upon checking into the Kingston area for places to visit, this one popped up in my search, another hidden secret, none of my Washington native coworkers seemed to know. Well, being the plant nerd I am, it was quickly placed first on my list of adventures in the Kingston area. Beautiful entrance, not easily seen if you're flying by. Lots of hidden treasures throughout, plants and additional ornaments ( like the old dump truck or piano) some of the gardens, especially around the old homestead are well developed, but there are quite a few newer additions and more being developed. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, Norma Jean was great! Not only with the history and plants of the gardens, but other places to check out in the area as well. The Port Gamble S' Klallam tribe purchases the gardens in 2012 and with the assistance of one of the originators, Dan Hinkley, it has been restored, rejuvenated, and additional gardens are growing. It's worth multiple visits during the year as the many rare plants go through blooming seasons and the colors of new growth and flowers change. They also cultivate a nursery of quite a few of the rare and unusual plants, definitely there will be some purchasing in future visits. This garden is easily walkable and not large, well worth the ten dollar ticket. Enjoyable for anyone who loves nature and being outdoors. It alone was worth the ferry ride over to Kingston. Enjoying the beautiful weather and flowers. Happy Yelping!

On the first day it was legal, we and a half-dozen other couples were hosted by the S'kallam tribe, who went all out for us, and covered all the costs. What a gift to the local LGBT community! Burpee bought out the original nursery many years ago, and it went downhill for a while, but since it was sold to the S'Kallam tribe, they've restored it to its former glory, and even hired the original founder (well-famed Dan Hinkley) to help maintain, restore, and manage it with a group of volunteers. Dan once again travels in search of unusual plants ideal for temperate gardens. This is worth visiting just for its park value, and definitely worth a special trip even from far off, though always make sure of the hours before setting out; they keep limited public hours (generally Fridays 10 am to 3 pm, but sometimes other days and longer hours depending on events and special sales and such). The plant collection is unique; the park areas and buildings can be rented for weddings and private events; and the nursery arranges all sorts of seasonal public events worth attending. Take their tour, it's incredibly informative in addition to simply beautiful.

The flowers, the colors and the tidiness of the place was so beautiful and unlike anything I've seen. Little pockets of little gems like Japanese gardens, little water ways and bridges and the beautiful tea room where we had an impromptu afternoon tea with a Kir Royale. We sat outside on the covered patio and enjoyed more beautiful flowers and views while the steady rain fell. It was a great way to take a little time out and enjoy the views and the amazing tea. Which had some great mini sandwiches and lovely sweet treats and scones. The champagne cocktail was just perfect. This is an absolute must do if your in the Vancouver area. Take the day to spend at the island and enjoy this fabulous place and its history. We should all be so lucky to see places so pretty and stunning .

(Saturday 12/20/2025) I'll start off by saying that the gardens were offered as an add-on to our trip to Victoria on the Clipper. Transport to and from the gardens was also included in the package. There were two time slots available, one during the day and one in the evening. The bus ride took about an hour each way, and the bus driver was a delight. He was knowledgeable in the history of the area and kept us entertained with tidbits about its rich past. We went to see the Capilano Bridge Holiday Lights when we visited Vancouver a couple of years ago, and were excited to see the gardens for that reason. Unfortunately, we weren't met with the same experience. I understand that they are different places, but I wasn't expecting so many dark, empty spots. Sure, there were a lot of lights to see, but there were long stretches of walking areas that were just meh, or not lit at all. Certain areas of the park were closed, but I guess that didn't matter since pretty much everything in winter has died back. Again, I feel like Capilano Bridge had WAY more to do and see for both children and adults. My husband and I FELT like children climbing up and down, and on the sides, of the tree and cliff catwalks, and feeling the wonder and amazement of all of the light sets and lighted surroundings. Butchart Gardens didn't wow us like that one bit. We apologized to our children even though they didn't experience the bridge with us. However, they still enjoyed getting away from life. I would love to visit the gardens during the day in the spring or summer, but reading some of the reviews has me thinking we probably won't. If/when we travel to Victoria again, we'll probably pass on the gardens.
