Onas was an amazing server and the food was great! We sat outside and he was still very attentive!

This place is prob our staple; Ive tried several items. Overall, I think theyve scaled down creativity from 4 yrs ago and made meals to a price...I can appreciate that as we are all under budget strain, but when I go out, I want something I cant make myself. Food: 4/5 Their salmon must be an above grade fish and theyve cooked it perfectly every time Im there (medium)- tender, almost pull apart! They used to have a "dynamite salmon" dish that elevated their creativity b/c it had an interesting sauce and a bit of crab on top. Sadly, their vegetable/rice needs work- zero seasoning, and many times, the asparagus is tough or very overcooked. Anyone could cook it. If you get mashed potatoes- you get about 3 fork full (wont satisfy a hungry man). Their steaks are not on par with other upper steak restaurants. Mine was thin and overcooked but I ate it anyway. Service: 4/5 They are usually super slow on drinks, even when I see 75% vacancy in restaurant. But the drinks are good and not watered down. Just went here with 2 of our best friends. We had Lauren as our waitress and she was very helpful and did a great job taking care of us, giving great recommendations, serving and making sure everything was safe for food my allergy. Of course we started with Bang Bang shrimp and the amazing bread. Our 4 dinners were all excellent and we really loved them. Salmon, fish and chips, Imperial Cod, and grilled butterfish were all cooked perfectly. The manager was VERY helpful with a gift card issue. Highly recommend this restaurant. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and seated immediately. Both the host and waitress were kind, helpful and efficient. We ordered the imperial dip for an appetizer. It was delicious with shrimp and scallops. Bread and olive oil came with the meal and that was also yummy. We both ordered the grilled shrimp and scallops with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was very tasty. A nice final touch was that the waitress asked if it was a special occasion. It was our anniversary and she surprised us with two glasses of champagne. Nice touch! Two of us went to Bonefish Grill in Novi at about 4:00pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The restaurant was quite empty. We were asked if we had reservations. We did not. We were directed to a booth. After 15 minutes, we left, as no one came to our table at all. As we walked out the door, we saw four staff members chatting in the host area. I'm not sure what happened here, but it wasn't good. This used to be a solid restaurant -- or maybe it never was, and I just didn't notice until now. The one highlight was the salad, which was excellent. I would genuinely come back just for that. But the rest of the meal was a big disappointment. The presentation felt more like a Friday-night bingo dinner than a restaurant meal. Both entrées -- my salmon and my husband's Chilean sea bass -- were completely underwhelming. The little potatoes on my plate looked like they were tossed on as an afterthought, possibly microwaved and sent straight out. It seems like the location, the bar scene, and the overall liveliness are what keep people coming, because it certainly wasn't the food. And to make things stranger, my husband asked for an iced tea and was told the tea machine was broken. Do they not know how to make tea by hand, or was that really true? Been a while since we have gone to Bonefish but took the family there yesterday September 19. There were 6 of us all adults, I'm sorry to say most of us were impressed with the food. The server was great, the ambiance was great, the food....not so great. We all had different dishes but had similar feelings about the food. With one exception, the person that ordered the burger with fries said it was great. Here's what the rest of us thought. Food was not hot just warm Broccoli was practically raw, crunchy and not at all fork tender. Very heavy handed on the salt. I felt price point was good but food preparation needs some attention. We came here tonight for my Birthday! Heard they had great fish and chips. I had a Smoked Old Fashioned and she had a Pomegranate Martini. Both of which were very good. We were seated straight away! And Niki came right over and I'm just gonna say, she was the perfect example of what a server should be!! She made recommendations based on her own experience and she was very attentive, but not too attentive, I know you know what I mean. She didnt leave us wanting for anything and for the first time in a long time, she didnt come over and ask us questions immediately after we'd taken a bite of food! I had the fish and chips and she had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and the Kung Pow Brussel Sprouts. I have nothing to say except.everything was amazing!! What a crap show. Three hours for dinner service and then waited for our bill for forty minutes. I finally after repeated asks for our server, I went into the kitchen, wow did they get upset. Then my server said she would be right there, we waited another 15 minutes just to get the bill. We actually considered walking out. Im 66 and have never done or that or thought about it. I had the chance to attend one of their Dinmer Pairing events. If you have never been to one please check it out because it is worth it! The food was disappointing for the prices they have. I ordered the ravioli and it came out cold af. The inside was still frozen. We ordered sides and those didn't come out at all when we made a comment on the sides they came out in 2 min under cooked potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The absolute worse food I've ever had. I get that Christmas Eve is a popular time to try to get dinner but if you can't handle it, don't take reservations. My family made a reservation a week ago at 6:45 (only time available) and when we arrived we were told it was essentially first come first serve. I asked for clarification and they said it was a 25-45 minute wait. They said they would call us. We got an email 10 minutes later that the reservation was cancelled. It looked like a party had broken out and no one cleaned up afterwards. There was a jumble of chairs just tossed into the corner behind our booth. Not stacked and neatly waiting to be used. Tossed into a pile. It was very odd. There were 4 of us and we all ordered mahi mahi. They were all fine except mine which was wildly overcooked and dried out. The kitchen also forgot the sauce for it. The vegetable for one person was missing and had to be made and delivered late. Brussels sprouts had a decent flavor but again overcooked and not hot coming to our table. Have you ever had a chewy brussels sprout? That's what happens when you cook them ahead of time then reheat them and then they cool down and get served to your table. Would I ever eat here again? NO 4:30 on a Sunday. The place was not busy. I had specifically asked the server not to rush to give us time to eat our appetizer Appetizer came not even halfway into first drink, which is fine, but then we were not given time to finish our appetizer or my 1st drink , when I specifically asked for that, went soup and salads came. The food was amazing as well I got the 9oz sirloin with the broccoli & garlic whipped pototoes, my boyfriend had the creamy tomato linguine with salmon. We also had the crab cakes everything was very good & fresh. My crushed pineapple martini was so good as well the perfect amount of liquor. Waitress brought out bread soon after we were seated and said she'd be right with us. !0 minutes later she asks if we're ready to order. I have never been to a restaurant that didn't ask for the drink order first. We ordered the food and coke for myself and coffee for my wife. 10 minutes later waitress brings 2 waters and tells my wife coffee is brewing is it all right to bring both drinks together? My wife says yes. 10 minutes later, tired of waiting, I ask the waitress for my coca cola. She brings my wife's coffee about 5 minutes after bringing my drink. Food was ok. In the men's restroom one toilet stall had no toilet paper. The paper towel trash can was overflowing onto the floor by the sinks. We're not going back. read more

It's been about ten years since I've dined here. Meals come with warm bread and pesto/ olive oil. I ordered the walleye special, which came with two signature sides. I chose the mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fish was okay but there were bones. The broccoli was overcooked and mushy. The potatoes were okay too. For dessert, I ordered the key lime cake with coconut. I wanted a latte but their machine was broken! The cake has a very light lime taste to it.
