This is one of the very few hostels I have been to, so I have limited experience in that sense, but…read morethis place was wonderful for what I needed, an inexpensive place to stay for a few nights. It's incredibly close to the beach, shops, restaurants, public transportation, night life, etc. It is kept very clean for the amount of traffic it has, and while it is loud, the management does a good job at, well, managing it. The hostel also helps out a lot with things to do and surfing and skateboards, pretty much anything you need, the hostel can get for you or already has. The only reason it is not getting five stars is because, being on the top of one of the bunk beds, it was very shaky. If the person on the bottom or top moved, the bed would shake quite a bit. It is also a bit hard to climb up because the ladder was non existent for my bunk bed.

DO NOT STAY HERE! It is not worth the location. This is the worst hostel I have ever been to. It is…read morehorribly managed and they do not care about their guests at all. They only care about how much money they can squeeze out of you. The rooms are cramped, hot, filthy with uncomfortable beds. There are only 3 showers and 2 toilets for each gender and they are disgusting. We booked here for 5 people and one of us had to cancel. They didn't offer us a refund and when we got there they had booked out the 5th bed to someone else, we still didn't get a refund after talking to the rude manager, Richard. One of the nights we were there two girls had to share a single bunk bed in 30 degree heat because one of the workers woke her up and told her it was her bed, as Richard the manager failed to tell the worker she was meant to sleep somewhere else. No one was at reception at the time so they had no choice but to sleep together. If you really want the good location, you'd be better off sleeping outside with the bums of Bondi than inside of this place.

Yesterday I had a hellish time getting to Australia. My Hawaiian Airlines flight malfunctioned at take off and had to turn around. So I missed the first night of my reservation. Some places will cancel your entire stay for that so I emailed them to let them know and make sure they'd keep my room. By the time they responded I had already landed in Australia, still unsure if I had a place to stay. I started to just ditch the reservation and get a room at Moxy Sydney for comfort and to be in the city, but I travel for the adventure so I headed out to Bondi with my fingers crossed. Found out they don't take Amex, they don't take USD, and my debit card was acting erratic. They suggested I go to the ATM for AUD, which was great, but for an international hostel, I'd expect different currencies as part of doing business. Anywho, my card didn't work at the ATM so I came back and just after I'd asked her to run it again and before we saw it was approved, I'd gotten the idea to ask to charge the card on file electronically. She said she hadn't suggested it because they don't like to do that, it may charge guests on the other end. I can respect that. It all worked out and check in was eventually a breeze. Here are the things: Stairs. I was briefly surprised that they didn't have an elevator. If you have heavy luggage, be prepared to climb at minimum one full flight of narrow stairs with it. Size/layout. It's smaller than other rooms, especially for a mixed one. The rooms are NYC small so be prepared to just sleep in the room. There's plenty of open space elsewhere in the facility. The room is suffocatingly stuffy at times during the day. There is a window but there's no screen/nothing to prevent bugs getting in. Bathrooms: Lines. I may have lucked out at other hostels or I've not been at one this large, but I'm not used to a wait. The bathrooms were clean enough, I saw a large cleaning staff but there were broken/empty soap dispensers. You'll need to bring your own everything to this one. Shower shoes, towel, soap, etc. Decent place if you don't wanna spend more than you have to. Excellent place if you just want the beach location. Lots to walk to and see. Metro nearby. Restaurants, convenience stores, shops.

Haven't actually gotten inside room yet but so far the common areas are clean. Very strict in check…read morein time as they are very busy. The activities are more geared for groups not so much for solo travelers but still seem good value. Value 4/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Service 3/5 Quality 4/5 15/20

The room itself was great, albeit ALL the way the hall from the elevator. There was a small kitchenette, equipped with a combination washer dryer which was very handy. On my last evening, I washed my travel clothing and my first two days clothing, which saved me on packing space. The bathroom was lovely, with both a shower and tub, and a double sink. The tub looked a bit discolored, but then again, I would almost certainly not use a hotel bathtub anyway. The room was very large. Bit enough for what I think was a king bed, a seating area, plus an extra chair. It was in the back of the hotel, so it was quiet. Pretty sure there was a tiny balcony, but that side overlooked a side street, so I didn't venture out. Well located toward the North end of Bondi beach, steps from the beach. There is an entrance off the side street, or one can take an elevator from the back of a tiny shopping center under the hotel which has two food establishments, a liquor store, and a full supermarket. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant, but there are all kinds of food options nearby. I'd stay again.

The hotel is a great location walkable to the beach, friendly staff, felt very safe even as a woman traveling alone. The room was HUGE and clean. Had a great kitchenette area and a great view out the balcony. Wonderful stay and would definitely return to this property and consider more QT properties in the future!
