I ordered Bonchon on Sunday after work for a work meeting because everyone was curious to try Korean fried chicken, and this location was close to us. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The soy garlic wings were extremely salty. It honestly just tasted like straight soy sauce. I barely tasted any garlic at all. It felt like the chicken was just soaked in soy sauce and salt rather than being a balanced soy garlic flavor. The spicy wings were also disappointing. This is a must try if you like fried chicken with Korean sauces as well as soju or beer. The chicken is one of my favorite as it is really crunchy and packs a lot of flavor. Any of the flavors are good but if you feel unsure, maybe you can get the sauce on the side. But I highly suggest getting the chicken in the sauce so that the flavor is evenly distributed. The difference between this fried chicken and other Korean Fried Chicken is that they use the larger chicken quarters with the thigh and drum stick. Where as other places mainly use wings The place is pretty small so I'm unsure if it'll fit a really big party but they do have a decent amount of seats. Bonchon is consistent where ever you go. We always get 30 wings half and half with soy garlic and spicy to share with the family. I find it odd that this building is so big, yet it was under some sort of construction that they blocked off the main entrance and had you enter through the patio. This food got me sick yesterday. I had the shrimp Shumai and 10 strips. The strips badder was soggy, partially due to the fact that they poured a lot of sauce on them after they got out of the fryer and also because they were not fried correctly. These were the only people I came into contact with yesterday. When I called to confront them about it today, a new man answered the phone and denied anyone on their kitchen staff could've been sick and that my food could've been ill-prepared at all. He was not willing to acknowledge any fault of this restraunt even though he was not there yesterday. After I came home and ate, I took a nap and woke up with a headache, body aches and the chills and a fever. Fast forward to today, I still have chills, I'm sweating profusely, and I hope my fever is somewhat breaking. I haven't been here in years since the end of Covid when they got rid of their best flavor. Also, Got rid of their honey mustard sauce with the shrimp shumai. I was just calling to hopefully get some sympathy and have them at least check to see if their staff May have been sick. A Korean girl helped me yesterday and told me "your batch of batter may have been cooked differently which is why it isn't firm" but she was not willing to check otherwise. There was one couple eating in the back and one man came to pickup a to go order in the 40 minutes I was there for yesterday early afternoon. Maybe everyone else knows something I don't? I've had a trip planned for months now and I hope I don't miss my flight after giving Bonchon another opportunity after years of not going. I've only had bonchon in California, and it's pretty good and standard there! I'd definitely say that it's just as good here as Well! *Park near the patio and come in through the patio! The door considered the front door is actually the side door LOL. The inside is well air conditioned, so much so that it may be a bit cold, but at least you're not hot! The food is fresh and hot, fried twice for the extra crispy texture on the outside! You have lots of additional sides and entrees in addition to the wings (bone in or boneless) and flavors! We went with half half spicy and the house flavor and it did not disappoint! *although I do think the spicy is much spicier than you think! I was excited to check this place out. I had it in my places to go list for about a month. Earlier today I was running an errand in the area and decided to check it out. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The ambiance of the place was quite basic but it looked inviting. After being seated, I looked over the menu. I was shocked at the prices! To be honest, I was actually about to walk out and get 2 prime rib dinners for less than it was to get chicken and some beef here. However, to save embarrassment, I stuck it out. The chicken and onion rings came quickly. Unfortunately, the chicken looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The chicken, although very large had tons of sauce on it. I thought for sure that I was going to get sick from eating it due to the amount of sauce they used. Sauce has a lot of sugar and I'm currently monitoring my sugar intake. In any case, the food was ok and the rings were tasty as well. Regrettably, the onion rings gave me heartburn even several hours later. My total bill with no drinks ordered came to $45. I gave the guy $50. For what I paid, I would have expected way better tasting chicken. I will not be returning to this place. I'm sorry. I wish they would lower their prices. Was greeted by Lauren very warmly when walked in. I ordered the Bulgogi and korean fried chicken wings and they were very delicious. Bulgogi comes in a hot plate and is loaded with beef and veggies, served with rice. Ask for siracha if you would look to spice it up a bit.
