And the results of the work done by Insulwise is now clear. In the past, we could feel the cold coming right through our walls which meant putting on additional clothing even as we turned the thermostat up. That is no longer the case. Strikingly, we can touch the inside walls, facing the outside of the house, and not feel the cold at all. There are no longer cold spots in the house that we avoid. We have turned down the thermostat and still the house is much warmer than it was last winter when it wasn't nearly as cold outside. My daughter and son-in-law noticed the change immediately when they visited and commented on it. In summary, the work done by Insulwise did exactly what we had hoped for. In terms of economics, we are in our 70's and may or may not be here long enough to recoup the savings on our heating bills. But we are so much more comfortable now than we were in past years that we will never regret getting this done; our only regret is not getting it done sooner. Thank you so much, Insulwise!

We have yet to see any energy savings, as promised on their website. Taking weather changes into account which was about 25% colder so far, we also used about 25% more gas to heat the home at the same settings. On the plus side, the room above the garage and second floor bedroom below the attic are more comfortable and less drafty, so we 'll keep tabs and hopefully we'll see better results in the summer with a/c usage.

Who do you think you are, Cheryl?? Get a new woman to speak to customers because this one is costing you customers. I had decided to use ABC based on reviews, being new to the area. My brother sells insulation in my previous home state, and he said the quote was in line with his, so "The Price is Right". I cleaned out the attic and spent considerable time sealing leaks in the fragile attic AC ductwork. The insulating crew were very careful not to disturb them, much to my relief. I installed an insulated flooring pathway to the attic air conditioner, and that was left clear for access as requested. If I could give zero stars I would. I am kicking myself that I didn't look up reviews before using…read morethis company. Our experience with them from top to bottom was beyond poor. Had the consultation they came out to see our home told us the process for removing the siding to add insulation. However, when the crew came out, we were told they could not remove the siding on the front of our house and they would have to drill through the interior walls. Now I'm left with spackled holes every few inches in several rooms of my home that I am left to sand and paint. I'm sure I won't be able to fix the walls so that you cannot see the holes. They also told us when they came out that they could not do the spray foam insulation. We were quoted in part of our downstairs home so they had to blow in other insulation instead. The outside caulking that they did around the windows is beyond sloppy and totally unacceptable! Long story short, I have way more time and expense on my hands as a result of this company coming out to do a job than before. Save your money and search for a competent, reputable company!

It is hard to get excited over insulation, it's not like a corvette that you can ride around all…read moreday doing donuts in, and wearing a T-shirt with your energy bill savings as a graphic isn't really an option either. That being said, I was positively giddy after standing in the bedroom that the guys from Steel City sprayed for me. An unbelievable difference. The room was always cold, and it's not like it wasn't insulated. A previous owner had put 10 inches of blown in fiberglass in the ceiling and 4 inches in the walls. During my renovation I took it all out and was nervous that I was just throwing money away by replacing insulation with new insulation. It will now be the way I do it from now on. Steel City sprayed 8 inches of foam on my ceiling and 4 inches in my walls. The foam was the open cell variety. I was again worried because I had heard the closed cell was better. But, it was more expensive, and money was tight. No regrets. The day after the work I stood in a room that, despite having no heat and being closed off from the rest of the house (dust barrier), was just as warm and cozy as the rooms where the heat was on. It was completely different from the room that became blisteringly hot when the sun came out and frigidly cold when it set. In the interest of full disclosure Jon, the owner-operator of the company asked me to write this review. I'm doing it because in addition to being impressed with the change it has made to my new bedroom, Jon and his crew couldn't have been more nice and just plain fun to be around. Just straight up professionals who knew how to make the most of their day. I'm no expert on all the different foam they can spray, I can only speak for the open cell, but it certainly is worth going this route vs. the other options for insulation.
