I'm always on the hunt for the best bánh mì in the Harrisburg area, and BonBon Tea has firmly earned a spot in my top three. The star of the show was the Special Grilled Sliced Pork Bánh Mì (Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng), loaded with grilled sliced pork, butter, mayonnaise, pâté, fresh vegetables, and carrot-radish pickle. What made this sandwich stand out was the bread. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while staying light and fresh inside. Combined with the crunchy vegetables and flavorful pork, every bite had a great balance of texture and flavor. Beyond the food, the visit itself was a pleasant experience. The cashier was incredibly friendly and took the time to share some of the shop's history, which added a personal touch that made the visit even more memorable. A few things to know before you go: Small dedicated parking lot Private single-occupancy restroom upstairs Outdoor patio seating available Located at a busy intersection, so expect some traffic noise if sitting outside I was fortunate enough to visit on a beautiful day and took advantage of the outdoor patio to get some work done. While the traffic can be a bit noticeable, the patio still makes for a nice spot to enjoy lunch or a drink. The menu is much larger than just bánh mì and offers plenty of reasons to return: Bubble tea Milk teas Fruit smoothies Spring rolls Full entrées Various Vietnamese-inspired snacks and drinks The best compliment I can give BonBon Tea is that I'm already planning my next visit. This place is so cute! There's parking around the back and a back entrance. The front has an adorable patio we will be sure to visit in the summer. The ladies who were working were SO sweet. The bread is freshly baked, meat is well-seasoned and they stuff their banh mi with lots of fresh herbs and vegetables, just like in Vietnam! To me, Bonbon Tea brings that authentic flavors and their banh mis are very similar to the ones you would get in Vietnam. They have many choices for bubble tea as well. I can recommend this for the boba. I can't recommend it for the sandwiches. They aren't bad, there are just better options in the Harrisburg area. For the boba. They have a pretty wide selection of flavors. One person got the traditional milk tea with boba. I got my favorite boba, the Japanese matcha milk tea. Someone else got a mango smoothie and the other person got the jasmine honey boba. They do their best to adjust sweetness. I like my matcha bobas with very little sugar and they did a pretty good job. I didn't measure the amount, but it looks like the larger size is a better deal for just $1 more. Overall, not bad. Flaming brown sugar milk tea- I ordered it half sweet because I suspected it was too sweet, I was right - even half sweet was almost too much. The sign outside says "walk-ins welcome," but I was not even acknowledged by anyone even after standing in front of the counter for about 5 minutes. Several customers were standing around waiting.
