The food is remade and it takes the staff and extremely long time to serve, the ox tails are on the menu but where not available when asked for and their was no sign saying they where off menu. I asked for curry goat and was not told they where not ready, so after asking 15 minute after waiting, I was told they are not ready.... at his place could be good if only the staff was better trained in customer service. I'm Haitian so naturally I love Haitian food! One thing I can say is that if you want good Haitian food this is a good place to have it! I do have to be honest, the customer service there isn't the best! I think there's a cultural disconnect when it come to customer service-especially if you don't speak Haitian Creole! They could improve on that aspect. I wouldn't let it deter you from tasting the food though! I would recommend reviewing the menu on display on the wall before standing in line to place your order. Wow. Wanted so much to love this place considering the reviews from other sites, but I was so confused when I got here. To be safe, I brought a Haitian friend along so that I knew what I would be ordering, but they didn't have 95% of what was on their menu. First, it seems there is a dining side and a take out side, but the door to the dining in area said "use other door," and that was the take-out door. Okay...so I figure, take out is just as well. The food was already prepared in large batches, but I wanted some lambi (which is supposed to be a conch dish), and they didn't have it. Like I said, a good chunk of their menu was unavailable. The place operates more on a soup-of-the-day type deal, and they only had three things prepared, the rest were all just side items like white rice or a moro rice. My Haitian friend ordered the griot (fried pork), and he said it was OKAY. A bit on the dry side, though it did have some good flavor. I ended up just pointing to what a lady ordered right before me. She was Haitian, so I followed in her foot steps. I couldn't tell what it was until I took a bite and realized it was a beef stew of some sort. Tasted fine, though I can't see how you could mess up a beef stew. It was most unfortunate that I didn't know an ounce of Creole, and it was even more unfortunate that the worker that day didn't know an ounce of English. I had this place twice while in orlando (I am from Orlando but live in vegas now). The food and menu is good. I had the turkey, oxtail, fried chicken, & griot. All were good but I wouldn't order the stew turkey again. Not that it was bad but just didn't love it. The wait time sucks. I even called placed my order one day and I had to still wait and they never even started my order. If you have been to Haitian restaurants before you will Know this is typical. Prices at this place are good. Oxtail was a little expensive. I believe it was $20. Avg price in Orlando should be about $16-17. read more

The rice is so good. They make their rice with Lina beans. The chicken is good as well. Flavorful with an ever so slight kick. It must be an authentic Haitian eatery because all of the patrons speak French Creole. They call out orders in English and French Creole for the non-English speaking patrons. read more

I tried the griot with the friend platains as well as the red beans and rice. I loved it! I have gone multiple times since then. Usually I alternate between the legume as well as the griot. I have never been this upset on my entire life even my wife was shocked. I am a lay back guy, it takes a lot for someone to get me upset. I live in Deltona but I work in Orlando. I stop by to the Bon Appetit Grill in Kirkman right by my office to take home to my family for dinner. 1st, they did not even have my wife meat that was Jerk chicken that is all she likes to eat, this is around 12:00 no jerk chicken. I ask her when they will have jerk again, the guy told me we are done with Jerk chicken. it's only 12:00pm and they close at 8PM. I call wifey to let her know so she can select something different. She is willing to get Turkey. The guy gave me a calalou with no meat on it with a bunch of rice that is nothing but carb. My wife only have 3 piece of meat turkey cover with bones. This is the worst service I have on my entire restaurant I have been. You can tell me a customer comes to your restaurant and you can't even serve a descent meal where they feel their money worth. I got home I throw my whole food on the garbage that is how mad I was when I find out my calalou had no meat on it. I call the kirkman location & request to speak to a manager or someone in charge. The young lady stated there is no manager at this location, this mean the employees in this location makes their own decision how they want to service the customer. This is how it sound like to me. I called the Orange blossom collection phone number shows listed on the website 407-857-2434 for the orange blossom location. the phone never ring, I keep on trying every 10min because this is the only location the lady stated I can get a manager to speak with because their location they do what they feel like it. No matter what location, Winter Haven or Orlando, the phone is always good. I tried three dishes ( Chicken Lasagna, Jerk Chicken, and my favorite Curry Chicken). Always with rice and beans extra sauce. It's always fresh. And the people are always nice and polite. The restaurant is clean. You can even reuse the take out bowls they give you. All and All A+ . I had stopped to pick something up from the Family Dollar and saw this restaurant in the corner of the plaza. I love Caribbean and Haitian food so I was inclined to at least try it. For the positives: The restaurant is clean and the legume (stew type dish) that I ordered was very good, and the portions are huge for the price. On to the negatives. Customer service was horrible. Nobody greeted me, I wasn't sure where to stand to place my order. The woman in front of me walked up to the right side of the counter, ordered in Creole, and was serviced and paid for her food right away. I walked up to the same glass area after she was finished and literally waited a minute and then still had to wave down the cashier/food attendant. I should've left. She spent the entire time speaking to some of the other patrons in Creole (not sure if she knew English or not). Lastly, the rice and beans weren't very fresh. Hopefully, I will find a Jamaican/Caribbean food alternative, because I don't think I'll be back, mainly due to poor customer service. read more
