I've been bringing my Mazda to Bommarito South at 6127 South Lindbergh for several years with good results. Took it in this morning for the recommended 25,000 mile maintenance package which is listed on their website as costing $208.52. When I went to the pick up the car, I was presented with an invoice for $448.84. The woman at the counter told me it wasn't a mistake and that the woman I dropped the car off with this morning should've explained the pricing better. If she had, I wouldn't have said yes to the service. Sorry Bommarito but this is some seriously shady bait-and-switch shit. There are honest car shops and dishonest car shops....I'm putting Bommarito South in the "will happily rip you off" category and will be taking all future car business elsewhere. I've generally had good experiences with Bommarito Mazda in St. Peters, MO, but this last visit left me disappointed. I brought my Mazda in for what I thought were two warranty-covered services: a battery replacement and a tire rotation. The battery was covered, but the tire rotation wasn't -- and I was never called to authorize that service. When I questioned the charge, tensions started to rise and a taller gentleman stepped out and said, "Forget about it, it's just $20." That made me feel like I was being a cheapskate, when in reality, I was pointing out that proper protocol wasn't followed. If I were cheap, I wouldn't have purchased a top-of-the-line Mazda SUV. I didn't want conflict -- just a simple acknowledgment like, "You're right, sir, we should have called you." Instead, I left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and questioning how much the customer's perspective is valued. read more

HELP Someone that cares in this company!!!! I bought a car from you on January 15,2021. First time driving it on the way home the water pump goes out. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME with this problem, that is all I want???? The vechile is brought back to the dealership 3 times now to set for over a week, to be told they prefer a water pump and was defective and forgot to order a second part which was a water kit housing for the top and 2 buttons that where suppose to be fixed. The sales person Demetris calls me to tell me the car is ready, fixed, detailed, and to come and pick vechile up. I get in the car to leave again to find black grease all over the top head liner of car, buttons not fixed and chocolate all over the council over the car. It was so dirty.... I get out of the car and go get the sales person to show him and he tells me they where suppose to do it and now there to busy... I will have to come back again..... he didn't even take the time to check the vechile to make sure it was completed. Driving home again, the engine is rattling and making sounds. I bring the vechile back again... I'm told by Brian Burksow service advisor he took the car home for the weekend and drove it , the dealership had for 2 more days and could not duplicated or find a problem. I asked for paper work of reported diagnoses and they have none on file did no report of any service for the service the said they did test after test. Nothing was done. And no notes on file of what they did to test the car to rule out any problem. I tried to give the car back because I dont feel safe in the car that I spent over 20,0000 on. It's currently sitting at another dealership garage because no one would help me at Bommaritto Cadillac where vechile was purchased or Bommarito Mazda next store where the vechile was mechanic worked on.Scott the service manager told me it was my car now and my problem to leave his dealership. HELP is all I want does anyone care the car is sitting in service shop as we speak..I still have not been able to drive a car I'm paid for, no consumer should ever go through an expensive experience like this because no one cares right now my phone is 314-498-1900 if anyone cares in this company???? read more

Demetri was awesome to deal with. He made buying a car a painless experience for my daughter and wife. I dropped the ball with obtaing necessary paperwork for them. When I obtained it the paerwork needed to register the vehicle was overnighted and was able to register the vehicle before temp tags expired. Kiwi was very pleasant and professional we left happy and with no questions or concerns about our new car. We couldn't be more pleased with our day. Buying a new car is a huge decision and Kiwi's knowledge of the Mazda products is to be commended. He took time with us to hear us and fit us with the perfect vehicle for our family. I bought my first Mazda here 5 years ago and the experience wasn't pleasant, but not terrible either. Fast forward to 2011 and this time it was SO unpleasant, I actually walked out literally as we were signing the bottom line. Their sales tactics were a total put off. I was buying this car, not my husband, and all they could do was talk to him, talk past me, and down to me. This was sales, finance and the sales manager. We were both then harassed by phone after leaving. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never return and I will deter anyone I can. I have always bought my own cars and I've never had an experiencd like this. I took my money across town to a competitor (without even mentioning my horrible experience) and was treated with respect and was in and out so fast. Do yourself a favor ladies, shop elsewhere. I attempted to purchase a used car from Bommarito and was terribly disappointed with the process. I test drove a 2007 Pontiac Vibe. The salesman discussed price and I had to go to my bank to arrange financing. I called the salesman the next day to inform him how much my bank could get me and he agreed to price the car to match my loan amount. When I went to pick up the car the salesman told me the price had gone up by $150.00 because "his boss" wouldn't approve the deal. I reminded him of our agreement and that I had a check for the original amount. He said there was nothing he could do and I had to come up with the additional money. I left without the car. This type of bait and switch tactic is what gives car salesmen a bad name. Since the salesman's boss knew what was going on, I have to assume this is standard practice. Dishonesty should not be part of the car buying process. *** The general manager of the dealership contacted me with regard to my issues. They offered satisfactory solutions and I ended up purchasing the car. I am satisfied with their reaction to my situation. read more

I bought a car at this dealership didn't even have 20,000 miles on the car it started to mess up, I went back to the dealership and they said there was a butch of mess ups in the system the car wasn't even right. After 1-2 weeks they wanted me to wait a month on a car I bought because I had started having problems on it and It just didn't make sense I ask them for shop notes they just tell me what's wrong, I didn't ask what was wrong it's shop notes. I was very surprised and disappointed that none of the employees wore masks. The guy came over to talk to us in the waiting area about our car without a mask. I know St. Peter's doesn't require one but it's common courtesy these days and just plain smart. Very surprised a licensed dealership would allow such behavior. I leased a car from this location for 2 years and yesterday I learned a rodent had chewed on the wire for my mass air compressor, which cause the car to not run anymore. Originally, thinking my car would be taken care of at their shop, I called their mechanics department several times. The man I spoke to was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He was harsh for no reason and I found out I would have to pay for the $1000 part as well as labor to fix my LEASED car and I could not afford the work. Admittedly, I snapped at him due to how rude he was, and eventually called sales. I was very displeased with this situation and spoke to Terrie in sales who was more than accommodating. I become emotional on the phone because I could not shell out the money to fix it and he assured me if I came up there that day he would take care of it and find a way to let me out of my lease and purchase a new car. They only took 1,000 off my credit for my lease toward the part and took care of the rest. Kiwi took care of my sale and made sure I got everything I needed to purchase a car and finances made sure my payment didn't go up too much from my original payment. I originally told sales yesterday I would never do business with them again. I came out of it with a brand new Mazda and although it was all an unfortunate situation and took up my whole day, they went over the top to make sure I was happy and that I could afford my car. Well If There was choice for zero stars that's what they deserve. I see a Chevy Silverado that I'm interested in so I called a number that was listed on the internet. Miles Answers the phone and I said yeah I'm interested in that Chevy Silverado you have on the lot. Wow you are the 5th caller I have had on that same truck. I setup an appt the next day. I got to thinking about what he said so instead of being pressured into buying under pressure I text him and I let him know that maybe he should sell to the other five people so I waited a day and low and behold it was still for sale. now its 2 days later and I drive up there and its still for sale. I told them I didn't want to deal with Miles so the receptionist at the front desk introduced me to KIWI. He takes my Credit application and I let him know I deal with First Community and I wanted this ran through my business and not me personally. He hands the credit application off to TRENT. This guy shouldn't even be in the financial department EVERYONE WATCH OUT FOR THIS SNAKE. He proceeds to tell me that they can't run The business loan so I would have to go to the bank to do this. I'm on my way to the Bank so I check my personal credit score on the way just to make sure they didn't try to run me personally because that will effect your credit score immediately. Well he did and it dropped my credit score points. WAIT THIS GETS BETTER. I call to get the vin of the vehicle to get the loan through my business and KIWI proceeds to tell me that its sold. THIS DEALERSHIP IS THE CLASSIC STATE OF THE RIPOFF ARTIST. I WOULDNT BUY MY TOILET PAPER THERE. Moral of the story. Don't deal with this dealership stay as far away as possible. Especially TRENT,MILES, KIWI. They wouldn't pull the hard inquiry off. I have to say this is my first and likely my last in dealing with purchasing from this location and probably any Bommarito dealership after this experience (which is unfortunate since my hubs is a South City kid who knows the family and historic community rep). After being pre approved with my credit union, after I dealt with multiple disappointments from other dealers trying to charge over MSRP in a post Covid market along with canceling a car on order from Japan, I came to Bommarito Pre Owned. Although the sales person was helpful, I was clear that I had financing and I needed the PO cut and faxed to take to my credit union (which is well know in the STL area). Due to past identity theft issues I am very particular on my finances and how I want them handled. My credit union was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and were ready to squeeze me in for finalizing paperwork and cut the check so I could pick up the car. The finance department at Bommarito preowned (specifically Trent) not only REFUSED to send my back the PO, he state he wasn't going to deal with liens and such (which makes no sense) that the dealer/he would refuse selling me the car period if I walked in with a check for the amount. I told him I would call my credit union and he stated we wasn't going to go back and forth about it. Once I had a chance to call my credit union I found out that this individual went behind my back, talked to the VP of the lending group at my CU and told them the same thing! I have never been so insulted and shocked over a finance person interfering with my personal business at this level. It is probably one if the most appalling experiences I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Its bad enough being treated like crap as a female customer and now this invasion of privacy? Not a bad experience but not amazing either. Recently was in the market to purchase a new or slightly used car, and decided to test drive one of the blue Mazda wagons. The sales guy was not super pushy and even offered to let me take it home overnight if desired. The car itself was only "OK." It has only been a week or two and I have already forgotten what kind of car it was, that is how un-memorable it was. I guess I am more let down by the product itself than this specific location. I did like that they had lots of options in stock to choose from in their overflow lot. That was nice. The dealership itself was very clean. I might return in the future but probably not any time soon. I ended up getting a Subaru instead, mostly just because I liked the product better. More bang for your buck. read more

I ended up spending about $3000 more than I should have even after $1500 in "rebates". I am pretty sure they just made the price more than normal and said I was getting a deal. The two dealerships worked together and even though the repair wasn't covered under the certified Mazda guarantee Scott and Joel took care of me and did the work. Awful customer service. I called to make an appointment for scheduled maintenance for my 2015 Mazda 6... I just moved from San Diego... And these guys are my closest dealership. When I scheduled the appointment, I asked them for a price. If they are doing A, B, and C for scheduled maintenance... They should be able to tell you how much it is. No one ever called me back. I called another time before my appointment.. Again, no call back. Finally today is the day before my appointment and I sat on hold for over 20 minutes total and was disconnected once... I never did talk to anyone in the service dept. I gave up and called back to cancel. Leah, who evidently works the switchboard, is less than nice... And when I asked her to repeat herself (several times) because she was mumbling she sounded exasperated. Anyway... I got transferred to someone right away to cancel my appointment... And she was very apologetic. Needless to say, I will find another dealer to have my service completed at, and I will never shop there when I am looking for a new Mazda...and will recommend everyone to stay as far away from all of their dealerships as possible, clearly they don't care about their customers. read more

This was the worst car dealership experience ever. I was looking for a particular car and exchanged emails and phone calls with a few different dealerships. These guys were initially responsive, but when I got there, they had failed to mention that they did not even HAVE the car we'd been talking about, but big surprise, they could sell me a considerably more expensive car with features I'd explicitly said I didn't want or need. I went in here this morning interested in buying a vehicle. I knew the sales man that I had talked to yesterday had the day off but I was wanting to get my fiancés truck appraised. Monte Hall approached me as soon as I got out of the vehicle and had told me that the sales man that I was talking to and the appraiser wasn't there today. So I said okay well I'll come back tomorrow. He went in and said lets see what we could do. So I sat in his office and he wrote down some information and asked if he could see the keys to get the VIN number. When coming back he didn't say anything and went along with talking. I asked him what he's doing and where my keys are. He said that it will be a second. So after sitting there for about 45 min he was done with writing and gave me my keys back. So I went outside and my truck was no where to be found. It wasn't in the spot that I parked it. Come to find out he moved it, didn't ask for my permission to drive out vehicle. When I got in all of my fiancés work papers were soaked in water. Because my water cup was sitting by it. If I had known they were going to drive out truck I would have got my cup out and my purse. I told my fiancé and he called the guy up to ask what happen and why he drove the truck with it letting me know. Monte the sales guy told my fiancé that if he wasn't at work he would beat his ass. So I called the sales manager Dennis and he didn't do anything but say sorry and that it's not the company, but really it is your company because you have an unprofessional employee working for your company and he reflects your company.
