Cool opportunity to see the details up close on the props. Great place to visit for that loyal and dedicated star trek or superman fan. The museum continues to add to exhibits from time to time. The only regret or concern is the location. Located in a small town in farming community. Be prepared for the extra drive and detour if traveling to and from Alaska like we were. No regrets for us. If you like old barns there are few in the area to see and photograph along hwy 23. Just make sure you respect trespassing laws. Stop by the town visitor center that is shaped like a space ship. The owners of trekcetra mentioned that they are thinking of moving to Calgary nearby. That means more visitors and walk in traffic. Also a bigger location to display many other trek artifacts. Right now the place is like the Smithsonian museum. They only display a portion of there unique collection. Hope that works out. Hate to see this place and all the incredible work to create this dream disappear. Go visit this place if you dont mind the extra 20-30 minutes drive thought farmlands coming to or from Calgary. Star Trek fans dont be futile see this place.

Every first Thursday of the month is free admission sponsored by Servus. I had to take advantage of this offer. Regular price admission is $18 per person. Why pay when you can go in for free. Plus I am not a tourist so might as well visit on a Thursday. All exhibits/galleries are open on the free admission day. The museum is very specifically tailored to the First Nation history and history of Calgary. They do have an interesting section on geology: rocks, minerals, stones, geode and etc. That gallery was slightly out of place compared to the rest of the museum/items on display. The first floor is really the gift shop and museum ticket/concierge/info center. Second floor is the first nation artworks. There are paintings and a few pieces of artwork. Third floor is about the oil and gas industry. As well, as the first settlement and the history of Calgary. Fourth floor is more tailored to the British Army and a section on the history of Africa. Everything is well documented, comprehensive and well referenced in the museum. Expect to spend about 2 hours minimum here. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I don't think this museum changes much and so it is really one time visit. Note that no big backpacks are allowed into the museum and would be required to be checked in.

It's hard, but I have to drop a half star here. When I was here last, it was newly open. I could…read moreexcuse some empty areas in the museum, and some messy bathrooms, but during a recent visit, the same area was fairly empty, and the bathrooms were still a mess. Now it was Treaty Day, and they had a few events here, so maybe this is the reason for the washroom sloppiness (there was a talent show, bbq, and 10k run---I was too late for all of them) :( But yeah, last year I was in awe. I noted some shortcomings, but I assumed they'd get remedied after a year or so of operation. Unfortunately, not much was different. Museums should be dynamic and ever-changing. They should give reason for return visits. Our people have so much to offer, and THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT MUSEUM. So, let's represent! (Don't get me wrong though---I'll be back!). On a techie note, they did have free wifi, so I was able to check email on my phone!

But, ... then there is what Corey already mentioned: some display lights were off or broken, an area with a photo exhibition was completely in the dark, posters were starting to peel off from the displays... There seems to be a lack of maintenance. The experience with the staff however was flawless. Very friendly and professional. A note on the side: some trails are still closed after the 2013 flooding.
